Save citable quotes and notes from the web into Google spreadsheets.
Save citable quotes and notes in Google spreadsheets.
Sick of manually tracking sources when collecting quotes? For students, researchers, and other professionals who do secondary research, Citable simplifies collecting quotes, notes and other data points along with the additional reference information needed to make a web citation.
Notes are saved in a spreadsheet in your Google Docs to enable collaboration with colleagues and rigorous analysis of the collected notes. To collaborate online, simply share the spreadsheet.
Collaborate using Post-its? Citable includes a printing template to simplify printing notes directly onto sticky notes for easy offline collaboration.
Citable is secure and suitable for work. All notes are securely transmitted only between the specified Google account and your computer. Citable maintains your privacy.

- (2022-08-19) Frank Bell: Can Google remove this from the "chrome web store" - It doesn't work anymore at all. Why are non-working extensions allowed to stay here. If you use it - all you get is. - 404 Check Your Document Columns

- (2019-02-18) Elijah otor: Awesome tools for researchers.
- (2019-02-10) Bryan “Ironman” Stark: One of the most useful tools for any researcher or student. While you look at webpages or articles you can highlight text and click the citable button and it will add it to a new or existing spreadsheet. Use it a lot to research!
- (2018-10-09) Wojtek Nosowski: Does anyone know how to get it to work in 2018? Great concept but it does not create a spreadsheet :(
- (2018-04-26) Rafael Vesga: Stopped when I clicked sign in with Google. Could not make it work
- (2018-04-14) Stephane van der Aa: Too simple for me. Looking for a good web page annotation tool. This is not it. All it does is basically add a comment about a web page to a sheet. It does not keep track about where on the web change the comment is relevant to which means there's not much point in adding multiple annotations per web page.
- (2018-02-21) Summer B: LOVE IT! I had been looking for a way to AUTOMATICALLY send copied web text to excel & found nothing...Used nppp with multiclipboard, but that stopped working with the new nppp version (didnt save to word/spreadsheet, but at least could access/edit unltd clipboard itms at once) Then found citable which does EXACTLY what I needed (cept with gsheets which is totally fine) & MORE! I can past my copied items into the extension, edit as necessary / take notes and then save them, which effectually automatically saves them to a sheet. Everytime u open the ext, you have the option to start a new sheet or continue in a prev one (in which new text is saved in the next open row). PLUS it automatically saves the link, date the row(note) was created, and tags (which u can create prior to saving) in different columns *If you're taking notes on a video (ie youtube), it will even save the time (min:sec) in the video at which you made the note, so you can know exactly when in a video specific/important parts are!
- (2017-12-14) wilson parry: Great app for research....would be great to copy to bottom of a google doc. Often my links then get copied into a google doc for a report so hoping to find something on zapier or IFTTT or script to do this
- (2017-07-26) Chelsea Robertson: It looks like it could be very useful, but like others have said, it doesn't save anything for me. Just asks to make a new spreadsheet, and nothing nothing nothing. SO BUMMED -- please help
- (2017-07-16) angelica Salazar: I've gotten so much done using this nifty app. I love it so far.
- (2017-05-17) Clever. Create automatically a Google spreadsheet with the notes and the page. I'd like to see text highlights, and more function, as clicking on the highlight and having the note, or drawing.
- (2017-02-23) Vladamoir Krebenskow: hehe xd
- (2017-02-19) Maurizio Delmonte: Love it!
- (2017-02-07) Greg Lloyd: So sad! This sounds like a great tool, but like others have stated, it doesn't save for me. Asks to "create new document" but then never creates or saves. Maybe it conflicts with another app? Adblock plus? I wish I know. I'd like to share with my students if it worked.
- (2017-02-05) Don Partlan: looks interesting, but I can't get it to save.
- (2016-08-16) Jarno Duursma: The app I always wanted..
- (2016-01-05) Máté Rémiás: Great one!
- (2015-09-20) Mogens Lunde: Great extension! Would be even greater though if all "cites" went into the same spreadsheet, where the current file name then could be the value in column A. Then it would be much easier to sort and select in all the saved url's. I'm struggling at the moment to find a way to combine the spreadsheets automatically, but that's not easy in Drive.
- (2015-09-14) peekpen: Forces you to sign-in with Google as a stipulation. A three year old unanswerable "alchemy" malware issue when connecting my browser to Google makes this extension a fail. Divorce it from signing in with Google and I'll use it.
- (2015-08-28) Dario Caregnato: Doesn't work?
- (2015-08-13) william Gonçalves: Muito boa esta ferramenta!
- (2015-07-23) mTspace Evolved: best thing ever. used it to win court cases.
- (2015-04-29) Yolanda Solo: I LOVE this extension. A clean and easy way to save things you want to add later. I know Evernote is great, but sometimes you just want something simple and effective.
