Latest reviews
- (2025-07-10) Odoo Dummy: works flawless - all the negative reviews seem to have the problem in front of the keyboard
- (2025-06-30) Aykut Çevik: Using it together with KeePassXC on desktop, the best password manager for privacy-oriented people. Keep up the great work!
- (2025-06-25) Alex Lee: My browser is suddenly warning me that keepassxc wants to change my privacy-related settings. I'm not enabling it again until I'm sure what has changed. Edit: well I guess the github issue addresses the concern for now... but I'll be keeping a keen eye on the repo from now on.
- (2025-06-18) David Clark: The Connect button is Chrome no longer works, don't get the popup message
- (2025-06-10) Alma Ayon: Steep learning curve, but flawless once it is set up.
- (2025-05-28) Kelson Vibber: KeePass lets you keep your own password vault on your own system, or sync using the service of your choice. The browser extension takes a little effort to connect it to your desktop app the first time, but from that point on it mostly does its job and stays out of your way, detecting login forms and adding a button to fill in credentials you've stored with that URL in KeePassXC (When you have the desktop app open and the database unlocked). Note: on Linux, when using this with a browser installed via Flatpak, there are extra hoops to jump through. Native installs on Linux, macOS and Windows are much simpler to get working.
- (2025-05-23) Jasmohan Singh Narula: This extension has stopped working. Unable to connect to database.
- (2025-03-22) Nimesh Poudel: Works like a charm
- (2025-01-27) Mecra YAVCIN: Sometimes it does not recognize second page's fields. If there is only one blank field left in another page, you should select all fields from beginning one by one. Beside this it works well.
- (2024-12-25) Neil QQ: Excellent integration with KeePass2 using KeePassNatMsg plugin. Works well with Vivaldi and Chrome.
- (2024-12-21) Doug Herman: Browser integration recently failed on Vivaldi and Edge in Windows 11. Reinstalled both KeepassXC and KeepassXC browser. Browser integration worked for one or two signins then failed again. I'm unable to find a fix and the KeepassXC troubleshooting info seems far too complicated. I have KeepassXC 2.7.9. What is the solution?
- (2024-12-09) Andrei Toderean Dascalu: Does not work on my Mac (15.1.1 with Chrome 131.0.6778.109) after activating integrations and installing extension on KeePassXC 2.7.9 I go to github's login page and while I have user/pass entries in an open KeePassXC database with the appropriate URL (exactly as loaded on the page), KeePass extension reports that no entries were found.
- (2024-12-05) Manuel Serrenti: Perfect integration with KeePassXC and even KeePass 2. Over 2k password without any issue
- (2024-11-29) Christian Wagner: Coming from 1Password, it has about 90% of the features, and works well on most sites. Privacy and maintaining control of your own password database offline and synched is the main advantage of KeePassXC over all other services. It does take time to learn, configure and maintain, but it is well worth it. After 10 years I moved from 1Password about 2 years ago and am very happy with it.
- (2024-11-17) Andreas Weigl: Love it. Works flawlessly across multiple browsers.
- (2024-11-13) Stefano Pantaloni: It works very well! Great extension.
- (2024-11-03) Arthur Marchand: Great, seems extremely secure, free to use
- (2024-10-24) stefan holzhauer: Does not longer work since Keepass XC 2.7.9: Database connection not possible.
- (2024-10-23) Joel: This extension works really well. You just have to carefully follow the installation instructions for your distribution. (Make sure the given file is in the correct directory for your browser)
- (2024-10-17) dee gian: Does NOT work with Chrome - Ridiculous
- (2024-10-08) Balajee R.C: This extension works great. I see a lot of downvotes complaining that it does not work. If you are on Ubuntu, the most common cause is that you have used to snap to install Chromium or Firefox. Use the official PPAs from Mozilla (and whatever is the equivalent for Chromium) and it will work fine. - (2024-09-24) Bohdan Buchok: Awesome! Storing password in very safe and easy to use way!
- (2024-09-11) Александр Шатунов: Works great!
- (2024-07-30) n ascentt: Been using this addon for years and all of a sudden on both Edge and Chrome on Windows 10 the UI has completely changed to be triple the size barely fitting the credential options in. And trying to interact with the credentials to fill basically does nothing. If i'm lucky something might happen 1/20 times I click on one of the credentials. Reported the issue on github, and was told this change is by design. edit: ended up trying the addon again and found a compact list view option in the addon settings, not only is this much better designed but the performance/lag i was getting trying to interact with it is mostly gone. I still get some situations where i click credentials and they don't populate the fields, but this is now more like 1/3 times instead of 1/20
- (2024-07-21) darlene itzak: it's easy to use , just install it!
- (2024-07-16) Ivan Isekeev: The recent redesign made the extension look native, I'm delighted.
- (2024-07-11) Satomi Sd: Works perfect for me
- (2024-07-09) Nick Hardy: Excellent, open source, simple, works as expected. Thanks
- (2024-07-05) Brent Godfrey: KeePassXC needs very frequent browser extension updates (each browser needs its extension updated every 2 to 3 weeks) and the process of updating the browser extensions is not clear. The directions of how to download and update an extension doesn't feel like the actual process that occurs and I can never tell when the update is completed or not. Hi Sami. Yes, I would be happy to share that feedback with you. If you would like to connect on LinkedIn, send me an invite there and we can IM. To answer your question here, I just took the most recent update (on July 5, 2024). After I clicked the icon for the Chrome browser extension, a screen pops up that states "Your download has started! Download again." This seems to be the end of the process and guidance, but it is not clear if users are then supposed to find and do something with the download. I would expect either further instructions (if I am supposed to take further actions) or a confirmation that the update is completed (if there are no further actions for me to take). Based on prior experiences, I feel like if I went to my downloads folder and tried to open the Chrome extension update that just downloaded, I would likely receive an error message that the download I am trying to initiate is "already in progress," and the system would give me the choice of either terminating the opening that I just initiated or continuing with both versions. Honestly, this happens every time and I don't know correct answer to that question. I have tried both routes, but I never get to a point at which I get a confirmation that any update or browser extension has been completed. I hope that helps and I would be happy to continue with the conversation where ever most convenient for you.
- (2024-06-22) Thomas Lippitsch: KeePassXC is still the only password manager which I trust. The browser extension works perfectly for me on Windows and MacOS with Brave Browser.
- (2024-06-21) Herr K: Works flawlessly for me on all supported systems
- (2024-06-11) QUESTION THE TRUTH - Querzion [One]: Local database, no problem for the most part . . . Over the network . . . Not so much, I don't know how it works, but it cannot find the KeePassXC docker. I have tried multiple things, but it seems I still have to install KeePassXC on every VM if I'm to use this browser plugin, which sucks. "/ It's junky at times, especially in Linux, but if it's the right combination of KeePassXC with the KeePassXC-Browser extension it works perfectly.
- (2024-05-30) Chris Andersen: Works excellently
- (2024-04-20) Lance Cummings: Did not ever load the database for me. *Everything* related to KeePassXC works fine for me, but not this.
- (2024-04-17) Peter Mescalchin: Works perfectly - and pre-fills on every website I'm using at the moment.
- (2024-04-07) Manu S: This is now working perfectly fine. Previously it used to disconnect every time and was very annoying (For the ones who are wondering why it is having a low rating, it was due to this).
- (2024-03-31) Mantas Juoceris: Works perfectly!
- (2024-03-29) jf jff: works just as promised, opensource <3
- (2024-03-29) Murali Krishnan: Works perfectly. Then why it is rated to low? I don't know..
- (2024-03-17) Krzysztof: I don't understand the bad comments about this plugin. It 100% works as expected.
- (2024-02-26) Niklas: The browser extension is a bit meh in comparison to other extensions from other password managers. But it does the job. Others are just a bit better UX wise, detecting login fields, better when offering to save new credentials and all that good stuff. But since the main application is basically the best password manager out there it doesn't really matter. Just something the devs could improve.
- (2024-02-01) xc2: In the recent updates stopped recognizing(or offering) a LOT of login/password fields, forces to manually search the database and copy-paste.
- (2024-01-28) InfinitiveZ: Works great. I'm using Win10/Brave, and Chrome. Even with the DB hosted on a network drive, and a local key file, the extension has no issues forwarding the login information to my browser. UI seems fairly intuitive. Will have to check back once I get my Arch system up and running. Thank you all for making a reliable and secure product!
- (2024-01-21) Massimo Buonaiuto: Often it is not connected to keepassrc even if it is loading in background, in mac os chrome. The keepassxc application has the search form always hidden....

- (2024-01-12) Chad Franzen: If only this extension didn't lose connection, whenever it feels like it, and force you to uninstall/reinstall it to get connected again. And don't get me started on the fact that if you have more than one DB, you have to have the "correct" one as the selected tab, or it doesn't find your login creds. Such a pointless and VERY annoying restriction.
- (2024-01-11) M: I agree with Neil; if you can use KeePass, you can use the extension. It feels pretty similar, and the few small configuration settings are easy to understand. If you encounter any issues, you can reference the browser integration section of the Quick Start guide here. https://keepassxc.org/docs/KeePassXC_GettingStarted#_setup_browser_integration
- (2024-01-02) Henrique Silva: Amazing Tool
- (2023-12-20) Neil Gordon: I suspect people overlook the couple-step process to get things connected correctly? Seems to work great.
- (2023-12-15) Nick Ness: Installed normally and have keepass running, but clicking connect to database doesn't seem to do anything
