Screenshot YouTube
Take a screenshot of any YouTube video with one click.
Adds a “Screenshot” button to the YouTube video player which saves a screenshot of the currently playing video as a file, or copies it to the clipboard, or both.
Optionally with keyboard shortcuts, and buttons for changing the playback rate.
New in version 3.0.0: moved to the newly required manifest v3, and removed the history permission, which should also make the screenshot button more reliable.
This extension does not contain any malicious or tracking code. No viruses. No ads. Only good software.

Can you add 1.25x speed button? Sometimes 1.5x is too fast. Thank you.
Still a useful extension
Great Extension, been using it for years now, works perfectly!!
pls update for a new design (just an icon I guess)
Great, easy quick screenshots of YouTube video frames. Note the screenshot size is dependent on the quality resolution.
so amazing feature
Doesn't work on youtube.
This tool is excellent and perfect for me!!Thank You
simple plug and play.but theymust add screenshot downloading location opetion.
works after refreshing
Simple and does exactly what is says it does. No bloat no setup, just plug and play!
Excellent!!! Perfect little tool, wish it could assign different hotkey but no problems. Thank you Developer!
This is awesome. Is it possible to do ai upscaling?
Screenshot does not work. Just gives me an image of a black screen.
nice !
Super
Used to be the best, but it no longer supports chrome v3 and can't be installed and used in the latest chrome official version, luckily I found its replacement, the functionality is the same, the screenshots are shown as a button instead of text! https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/screenshot-youtube-new/mflhfbknkdbjbfmnfmblhjchcbopejhg
like if you downloaded this because of PeoChan
it does not work at all.
Button works in a flaky manner, sometimes it's completely missing from the page. After reviewing the code, I can see a lot of personal-use code that's not related to the described screenshot functionality. Also, the button is not well positioned on the bar, tested it with most recent YouTube version.
Most of the time the screenshot button doesn't load. Race conditions maybe. When the button loads it works.
Easy to use, but please update asap. Chrome might stop this from running in future.
Amazing!! Efficient and straightforward.
Great Tool, Saved me a lot of time and effort 👍
Monitoring Chrome's task manager, this extension doesn't release Chrome's memory even when the user is not on a YouTube URL. As a result, it might take screenshots of other sites or it might gather user's data besides YouTube. ( i.e. I can't trust. ) If the developer promises to protect user privacy, they should fix this bug.
Great app, does as described. But why does it need permissions to view your browsers history?
Not working currently upon first try. Win 11 pro. I have sponsorblock as well that occupies that space, not sure if that is the issue. Also Print screen doesn't work, as is suggested. Also if you pause the video you get video text and info in the screen as well so you have to do it while video is rolling using snipping tool from windows. Problem is that I have two monitors active so I can trim them down later, just would like to have a more convenient option.
What I have been looking for. Great
Was having issues too @meraaki1 -- Reloading the video often brought the Screenshot Logo back. Today - no success. Unistalled and Reinstalled results in YT Screenshot working again. Not sure if that is a Windows update issue or YTS. Will wait and see how long the new reinstall holds for before starting to look elsewhere as, it really is convenient :)
the screenshot button doesnt show up anymore.
perfect
Great extension! Works on other video sites besides Youtube as well :)
Works 1 time, then all subsequent grabs capture an invisible image
I'm not sure of the point of this. The 'Print Screen' button works just fine. But, if you could get this to work with YouTube TV, that would be amazing.
it works like a champ win 10 64 pro
good for youtube
arbitrarily disappears and you have to keep trying to reload it. Sometimes it comes back but sometimes it doesn't. Not worth the trouble.
Strangely enough, it started behaving weirdly when I hid my bookmarks bar. The screenshots would come out solid black. Luckily I had only taken a few before I noticed the issue. Turned the bookmarks bar on and it works fine again :) 5 stars since it meets my needs.
Does what it says on the tin, no fuss, no issues.
[NOT ACTUALLY 1/5 STARS] One of my favorite Chrome extensions, but randomly stopped working for me recently. Removing and reinstalling it does nothing, and it says it's up-to-date. I'm leaving a 1/5 in hopes that the developer will see this and get it fixed, and then I'd be more than willing to change my rating to a 5/5
Doesn't work very well. Sometimes saves max 1 screenshot per video and even then have to reload the page for it to work a 2nd time on the same video. Sometimes won't work even once per video.
Perfect
Just one click and download screenshot from youtube video in PNG. Convenient and helpful.
Works quick and amazing! one click is all it takes. I'm happy that it downloads into PNG. (I'm on Opera GX)
doesnt work
great. but 1 question? 0.0 what's the keyboard shortcut for the button???
awesome! works easy peasy and straight to my download images! thanks
Great tool! Working everytime. Just one small improvement - Yutoube player is quite filled with options already: https://share.cleanshot.com/XlPTFpKb and sometimes clicking on Screenshot button pause/un-pause the video my mistake. Would love this button to be just under the player, so I do not hit controls by mistake. Solid 7/5
Does exactly what it is suppose to do.
Best extension ever. Why couldn't they officially add this feature to the YouTube site? Edit: Now 1 star. Doesn't show up on YouTube player.
