Q: Why does the extension need access to "read and change all your data on the websites you visit"?
A: We use the "Read and change all your data on the websites you visit" permission only for putting a timer button on other websites and taking the task's names as a description for the timer. If you don't wish to see the button on other websites, you can disable it in extension's Settings>Integrations.
The code for this extension is open source. Feel free to examine it and contribute on Github: https://github.com/clockify/browser-extension

- (2025-06-26) Eduardo Matsumoto: The extension was working fine until a couple of days ago, but now, when you highlight a word, right-click and start timer, you have to do once to stop the previous timer, and do it again to start counting the new one. Before you could stop and automatically start the next project at once. : (
- (2025-06-02) Drew White: Was working well until about a week ago. Now it doesn't function at all. When I click Log In, it flashes the web version before going to an error screen that says "This site can’t be reached". It's clearly an issue with the extension since I can go to and use the web version just fine still. I've tried removing and reinstalling the extension multiple times. I tried clearing my cache and cookies. Nothing. So disappointed. I had just recommended this extension to a client, too...
- (2025-05-12) Adrien Giboire: When it works, it's great but that rarely lasts. First, updating the extension makes you lose your custom integration settings. So I have to re set it after each update. Second, after an update, at least for GitLab integration, using an up to date GitLab, the extension does not pick consistently the details to prefill the form. Which often just makes it useless.
- (2025-04-01) Mengsen Zhang: I am particularly commenting on the Notion extension function, which may not be applicable to other usages. First off, it is frustrating to have dropdown list for selecting the project always *behind* the buttons, maying it very difficult to use. Second, if you expect it will automatically create a task and the associated project in Clockify according to the task-project in Notion, it is not what this extension can do -- you still have to create everything manually in Clockify, which massively reduces the value of such notion extension. This is going in the right direction, but not quite there yet.
- (2025-04-01) Илья Демин: I choose time tracker to work with. I set up several different ones. This one immediately started working with Azure DevOps. I logged in and everything works right away, 5 stars.
- (2025-03-10) Pedro Schneider: It is a great extension, now I never forget to start or stop my tasks. The only thing I would change in the app, is the ability to change the default format of the title.
- (2025-03-09) Melissa Grody: It's pretty great for my use case, when it works. I like being able to export and use the info for my billing with the free option. I don't have enough use of it to warrant paying so I really appreciate that. I have had the extension stall out and need to be uninstalled and reinstalled more than once. I also find it annoying that when you go to stop the timer and it needs you to fill out the rest of the info first, it doesn't automatically stop. You need to remember to hit stop again.
- (2025-03-08) Stefan Horvath: Sometimes the chrome extension breaks and it just loads forever. Reinstalling it fixes the problem. Otherwise, it's great for tracking time.
- (2025-03-07) zoritsa pencheva: The icon was highlighted as if it's running, but when I clicked on it, it was loading forever. Thanks to other users' comments I reinstalled it and the problem was fixed. No data was lost. Only time. Pretty annoying tbh.
- (2025-03-07) Vladimir Yordanov: The Chrome extension stopped working for me as well. When you select it, it gives you the endless loading icon. After reinstalling the extension, the problem was fixed.
- (2025-03-05) Martin S.: unfortunatly Chrome changed something and now since 03.03.25 the extension is not working anymore. on 05.03.25 i reinstalled the extension on chrome and it works again.
- (2025-03-04) Andrii Hordiienko: Stops working since Monday Icon is active like time is tracking and when clicking it just loading and do nothing
- (2025-02-07) Lucas: Good integrations. But the pomodoro timer does not work and does not stop to notify the user about breaks, the timer just goes on.
- (2025-02-05) Klim T: It doesn't work. Can you fix it?

- (2024-12-21) Andrew N: The extension will not login. When you press the login button it opens a tab for the website login, you log in with the code sent and it logins into the website no problem but the extension will still show as if it is logged out, making it unusable. Pressing the login button again just opens a tab to the already logged in website. Uninstalling and reinstalling and clearing browser cache does nothing.
- (2024-11-12) Martin Goebbels: Nov 2024 - integration with Google Calendar and Chrome apps not working properly! Mar 2024 - Very handy, indeed! But recently having issues to make it run like @Oksana reported few days ago. I removed it, cleared the browser cache and reinstalled it. The infinite loading loop didn't happen but I had to login on the Clockify web site to gain access and use the option of manual login to be able to use my password
- (2024-10-27) Sabella Neal: not working
- (2024-10-26) Tarek: Integration is broken. The extension is useless.
- (2024-09-05) O&O Consulting Group: We've been using it for over 3 years and never had a problem with it. I would 100% recommend it. The extension and the app are quite handy. If you see that it's not working properly probably is because the time in your system or browser is not matching the time in your account settings.
- (2024-08-29) Sreekanth Kannan: It's integration is pathetic...never got to get it working with Todoist; tried numerous times...really horrible. Now, I need to get rid of either clockify or todoist and I am leaning towards the former.
- (2024-08-26) Nikos Tsianos: It fails to work properly for a decent period of time; I got tired of troubleshooting and reinstalling.
- (2024-08-15) Letcher Tech: Completely broken just stuck in infinite loading loop. Edit: Reinstalled the extension, fixed the issue. Edit 2: 1 star now. the extension just keeps breaking. Giving up on reinstalling over and over. Clearly they have an auth issue and rather than allowing you to relogin, you have to reinstall. Not worth the effort anymore
- (2024-07-10) Péter Kós: The service is fine, it tracks time. But the extension breaks all the time, I have to reinstall it every other week to fix it.
- (2024-05-31) Armin Szalai: Please define clockifyLocales, or comment out that portion in settings.js, so the extension can be used. It breaks on every init, so it won't read the saved settings from local storage and you need to. It's tedious to set it any time one opens their browser.
- (2024-04-24) Mohammad Mahdi Sheykh: It's amazing :)
- (2024-03-25) Benoit Burke: Works well for 98% of the things I need to get done. Makes it easier to track most of my tasks through Clockify since my work is mostly web related. One thing I wish would not happen is if you start a new timer and you open up the description and your writing anything in the description text box and you happen to click away from the box, it will disappear along with all of the text you wrote in the box. I'm sure this could possibly be addressed in upcoming updates. The developers put out pretty consistent updates.
- (2024-03-25) Oksana Day: Stopped working a few days ago and just stuck on infinite loading loop
- (2024-03-24) Clinton Williams: Suddenly just stopped working in Chrome Browser (which is all I use) after latest Chrome update. I'm even paying for this service and it is consistently not working.
- (2024-01-26) Laura R: Does not work with basecamp at all.
- (2024-01-19) yolo nomad: Completely broken just stuck in infinite loading loop
- (2024-01-12) Yves Wheeler: youtrack.js is out of date, none of the queries that trigger clockifyButton.render will not hit. Please update these so that this works with YouTrack please.
- (2024-01-08) Felipe Simões: Overall works fine, but integrations suffer for a while after platform updates. Since ClickUp moved to its 3.0 version, the timer on Clockify erroneously imports all tags from the subtasks when starting the timer in the main task.
- (2023-12-26) Sunny Suggs: Same as others - unable to drag and drop. Vid - https://app.screencast.com/JEAgBhY9wMv2q
- (2023-12-24) Steven Flecha: Same as other feedback here - few days ago it suddenly broke Asana. Had to disable my extensions one-by-one to find out it was Clockify. When using with Asana you can't drag & drop tasks in any view anymore basically making the complete platform useless.
- (2023-12-21) Collin Burton: I'm seconding what Tom Morgan said. This plugin was updated today, and I suddenly found I couldn't move Trello cards or lists on the boards by dragging. I could still move them by clicking the "move" option, but that's not nearly as easy, especially if you have a lot of cards and lists and the order matters. Once I disabled this plugin, the Trello functionality returned.
- (2023-12-21) Tom Morgan: After the last Trello update in October, the timer button on the front of the Trello cards disappeared. With today's update the button is back but with the Clockify Chrome extension enabled, one cannot drag and drop on the Trello board (cards or lists). Turning the extension off re-enables drag an drop. Please fix this.
- (2023-12-15) Hugo Lehoux: Does this extension work with the latest Todoist updates ?

- (2023-10-16) Nathan Thomas: It works, and integrates with my Clockify account and makes recording time against GitHub tasks easy. I think there is a fairly large oversight though on GitHub issues specifically - modifying the issue in any way (adding assignees, labels, projects (and their settings) or milestones causes the in-page display to reload, which frequently causes the page itself to resize and shuffle up & down, often repeatedly leading to mis-clicks. If this could be improved then I would happily rate 5*

- (2023-08-14) Carlos Ayres: Very good! Muito bom aplicativo, fácil, intuitivo, prático.
- (2023-07-11) Horizonseeker: I installed the extension, however I can't access it from the browser, the extension popup window stays white.

- (2023-06-16) Arnas Mikulskis: Universal problem across all Clockify integrations: it's very difficult to add TASK NAME, not description. Even this integration adds Trello tasks into Clockify description, not TASK NAME field. Stupid.

- (2023-06-07) Drey Tee: it does the job. but: - It periodically activates all integrations despite I disabled them all manually, - for last week after clockify bar button clicked it claims 'Reload page to use this extension' and it happens on all tabs reopened when chrome restarts, which is quite annoying. Version: 2.9.10
