Description from store
DNA Match Labeling adds colored dot labeling to AncestryDNA matches. DNA Match Labeling adds a table of eight colors (red, blue, green, yellow, pink. orange, gray, and black) at the top of each page, where the user can enter text defining the color. For example, in the field for the red dot, the user can enter text such as "John Watanabe," "John Watanabe - Paternal Grandfather," or any other text.
If a user admins or views DNA results for several people in an account, each person will have a separate table.
To LABEL a match with a color: (1) click on the empty white dot next to a match's picture or male/female icon (underneath the gray or gold star on the far left of a match); (2) select a color from the pop-up color selection tray.
To CHANGE an existing color: (1) click on the colored dot next to the match's picture or male/female icon (underneath the gray or gold star on the far left of a match); (2) select a NEW color from the pop-up color selection tray.
If the match has not yet been viewed, you will see the AncestryDNA blue dot (indicating an unviewed match) with the DNA Match Labeling dot underneath.

- (2019-07-25) Rebecca Campbell: Beyond helpful- it made organizing matches at Ancestry simple and more custom. It worked so well Ancestry decided to roll out their own version.
- (2019-03-01) Vanessa S: No longer compatible after ancestry update.
- (2019-02-23) takes up way too much space on the screen and you can't sort/group by the colour
- (2019-02-23) Kathy Parrish: I love this extionsion. One problem I've noticed is sometimes the label/color dot goes away after I've added it. Went through a whole dna circle and marked the matches but when I went back to my matches the labels were gone.
- (2019-02-22) Fabulous addition, makes sorting so much easier. Additional colours would help.
- (2019-02-17) Val Robinson: Love that I can see added notes without leaving the page i'm on!
- (2019-02-09) Amby Rogers: Can you please add more colors. I need at least 24 to 32 for surnames in my family. I love this product, it is really helping to see the colors of the shared matches. Keep up the good work
- (2019-02-01) Amy M: It's a good app, but I wish you could customize the colors.
- (2019-01-19) Natalie Zett: Brilliant tool! Thank you.
- (2019-01-11) Mike Cashman: Great additional functionality to help to classify DNA matches
- (2018-12-26) A Stevens: Thank you, Mr. Bettinger. This is good to use. Sometime, it would be nice to add dot groups as I please, rather than having a fixed number of dots. The extension does seem to have a fixed number of dots at present? 15 or 31 dots would be good if extension needs a fixed number of dots.
- (2018-12-09) Alice Jones: I love the use of this app, but I need more colors to help me figure out what lines cross. Believe it or not, 8 was not enough.
- (2018-11-14) Josh Daugherty: Needs the ability to sync data between computers. If I'm signed in to Chrome on multiple computers, the work I've done on one should carry over to the other.
- (2018-11-12) Stephen Moore: Like this app, but I would love it if I could filter/sort by color AND if this "info" were actually saved in some way. I use a desktop at times and other times I use a Macbook Pro. Even though I'm logged into Google Chrome, this data is only saved on the computer you are on and will not be visible from any other of your computers.
- (2018-10-23) Stacey Headey: I love this Extension! Is there a way to Filter it afterwards, so only one color group comes up? Thanks
- (2018-10-22) Teresa Goatham: Works OK for me, but without the ability to filer by the colour it's of relatively little value. Yes, I can see at a glance which part of my tree (or whatever I use them for) someone is in, but clicking on the 'notes' button would tell me that with little more effort. Would be far more useful if could filer.
- (2018-10-16) Richard Righthand: Great job, Just 1 question. Is it possible for the extension to work on ALL of my computers? (linked to my gmail) because currently it only saves the colors on 1 computer.
- (2018-10-03) Janet T: This extension is something we've been asking Ancestry to do themselves for years. Thank you! I would love to see more functionality in the future - like being able to 'filter' by color, or create a list of match names by color, for when I want to focus on just one specific line.
- (2018-10-01) Tracy Drane: Excellent app! I've been wanting Ancestry to do this for ages. My main issue with it is that it takes up so much room on the page at the top. I wish there was a way to collapse it once I've made my updates. Either with an expand/collapse option or an edit button. Otherwise, thank you! This thing is awesome.
- (2018-09-30) When I click on update, it just gives me an error message: HTTP error 400. This is garbage.
- (2018-09-24) Thank you for creating this extention! It makes seeing branch relations much easier to see rather than putting them in the "notes" field. Thanks Blaine!
- (2018-09-14) Ailsa Corlett: Just what I have been waiting for for ages. Works perfectly, now busy adding all the coloured dots to my known matches and makes it so much easier to visualize, compared to even reading my notes. Many thanks for doing this.
- (2018-09-14) Frank Birt: I can't get this to work at all on my Chrome. Nothing shows on screen and nothing if I right-click. Maybe I'm doing something wrong in which case more infor would be helpful. Chrome reports that it has added the extension and does not report an error.
- (2018-09-14) Lynn Nolan Molanders: The only thing that I see so far .. It did not keep my labels and I did update so that it would.. Is there something I am doing wrong?
- (2018-09-13) A marvelous help with Ancestry matches! It was in beta, but now it is considered out of beta. It was wonderful before, but it's now even better! It's stable, and endlessly flexible for the various way people want to mark their matches. We have been waiting for something like this for a long, long time, and it's here!!!
