- Absolutely useless for me because my country Germany is not represented. In principle, only countries are represented whose legal tradition is Anglo-Saxon. The German legal tradition is based on Germanic customary law (compare also Germanic tribal law), Roman law in the initial form of the Justinian imperial law. Later, the French Civil Code was added as an influence. The Germanic tribal law was only laid down in writing in the Medieval, such as the Sachsenspiegel. Previously, Germanic tribal law had only been passed on orally, from generation to generation.
