Image from store Convert Gmail™ to PDF (locally)
Description from store This extension adds two new buttons to your Gmail interface. One orange PDF button and one blue PDF button. The orange button can be used to generate distraction-free PDF documents and the blue one generates a normal PDF document. It is also possible to press the toolbar button (action button) to convert multiple emails to PDF at once. For bulk conversion, you need to select a few threads first. Features: 1. Supports all Gmail view modes (no split, right of inbox, below inbox) 2. Supports bulk conversion by selecting multiple threads at once 3. Support simple and advance printing with and without images 4. Extracts email date and use it in the archived name Notes: 1. The orange button is called the "simple" mode of operation. In this mode, your emails are reformated and all the images, lines, and any other distracting elements are removed from the document before the PDF file is generated. This is useful to generate PDF for fast reading. 2. The blue button is called the "normal" mode of operation. In this mode, the "window.print()" function is called and the generated document is in the standard format. 3. This extension does NOT send your documents to an external server for conversion as this violates the user's privacy. The extension uses a local JavaScript library called jsPDF for all its conversions. 4. By default, no image is attached to your document if the "simple" mode is selected so that there would be no image fetching from remote servers. • (2023-09-14) Martin Link: Installed → Opened Gmail → Selected 109 emails → Clicked the extension button in the menu bar → Enabled multiple downloads → Watched 109 emails successfully convert to PDF. It was that easy. Took a total of about 4 minutes for all 109 emails to convert and download automatically. Thanks for the extension! I can't overstate how easy and helpful this was. Saved me a ton of time!!
  • (2023-04-18) Kristy Branko: I recently installed this Chrome extension, hoping that it would help me with organizing files. However, I am extremely disappointed to report that it just doesn't work. I tried multiple times to get it functioning, but it constantly failed to deliver on its promises. The installation process was easy enough, but as soon as I tried to use the extension, it became apparent that it wasn't working. I double-checked to ensure that I had followed all the necessary steps, but nothing seemed to resolve the issue. Despite the positive reviews and interesting features that initially drew me to this extension, I cannot recommend it to anyone due to its non-functioning nature. It's frustrating to have wasted time on an extension that doesn't work, and I hope the developers can address this issue in the future. Until then, I would advise potential users to look for alternative options.
  • (2022-11-09) Sam Johnston (samj): Worked perfectly for me in November 2022 and it's hard to overstate how much time it saved me converting HTML email receipts to PDF for processing by our accountants!
  • (2022-03-18) Laverne Herring: Doesn't download anything
  • (2022-03-15) Gregory Bussell: Produces empty pdfs. Not even attachments are there.
  • (2022-03-11) Greg Gavan: Produces empty pdfs or PDFs at all. Probably stopped working due to recent Gmail changes or something...
  • (2022-03-06) Milton Fields: The non-simple (blue) button does not work. I do not care about but the simple (orange) button, which is what I need also does not work.
  • (2022-03-06) Virginia Whicker: Not working
  • (2022-02-09) Nat Marshik: Buttons appear but the Simple button doesn't download anything - I can't find any files generated. The blue button opens the Print dialog which saves one click but otherwise isn't that useful.
  • (2021-11-19) Stan Green: It works. Without pics, but works.
  • (2021-03-22) Sophie Thwaites: worked immediately, thanks guys!

  • (2020-11-19) Karl-Joseph VGH: Great, just what I needed! (Fast email data/information in a PDF file)
  • (2020-08-28) ILWU Local 5: The non-simple (blue) button works great, but the simple (orange) button, which is what I would greatly prefer - the whole point of installing this extension was to stop the several button clicking hoops to save an email as a PDF - always saves in a landscape mode and the text is weird, no matter how I alter the settings.
  • (2020-08-05) Brett Detzler: Looks like it works alright; however, I always use the Preview layout in Gmail. This extention does not currently support this. There are no buttons that appear in the Preview window. Update this for 5 *

  • (2019-10-25) Đại Kỳ Cao: ok
  • (2019-09-03) Jonathan Ames: Just get the original pitch for the product. Not ready to be used; just a pitch machine.
  • (2019-04-19) Jack Z: You have to create an account with them before you can use this extension. They then get to see your email even though they say they don't. "We may use your email to send you newsletters and the latest info" It's not clear to me why they need you to have an account if they don't send the e-mails to a server. I think they do.... I don't need an account with them, it's coming off the computer.
  • (2019-01-17) Hi, nice extension. What came to my attention is that if one changes the gMail view to either vertical or horizontal split your extension (your buttons) is not visible. Would you mind re-coding that in any chosen view your buttons are visible? Thank you so much in advance for your kind consideration. cheers tomek

  • (2018-06-18) Robert Goley: I am getting the same results as Mac Rempel. I get empty/blank page PDF files for all PDF's in simple mode. The simple mode is the whole reason for installing this extension. Without it, there is no difference from what chrome already saves in PDF format.
  • (2018-04-03) Max Rempel: Produces empty pdfs
  • (2018-01-14) Rob&Sam Tedesco: Works really well as long as you turn on images in simple mode. Thanks rynu.smith. Now just enable this for multiple emails at once please.
  • (2017-10-12) Olivier Beaudoin: How does it Download? Where is PDFs are going? Clicked any of those 2 buttons, and nothing happen... except button are greyed out afterword.
