Cyberaura AI Monitor for Chrome
Continuous, policy-driven visibility into generative-AI usage in Chrome—built for security, compliance, and IT governance.
Overview
Cyberaura AI Monitor helps organizations observe and govern how AI tools are used in the browser. With your organization’s consent and configuration, the extension records AI-related site visits, optional clipboard copy events, and periodic health “heartbeats,” sending telemetry securely to your Cyberaura backend (Supabase) for real-time dashboards, alerts, and audit reporting.
Note: Cyberaura is an enterprise solution and requires an active Cyberaura account.
Key capabilities
AI domain activity tracking
Detects and logs visits to approved AI sites (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Hugging Face, etc.). The allowlist is centrally managed by administrators and can be updated without re-installing the extension.
Heartbeat health signals
Sends a lightweight “I’m active” signal at regular intervals so admins can see device status and detect gaps (browser closed, network loss).
Clipboard monitoring (admin-controlled, opt-in)
When enabled by your organization, captures clipboard copy events on AI pages to help detect potential data leakage. Redaction rules and thresholds are centrally managed.
Policy-driven controls
Behavior (which domains to monitor, whether to collect clipboard data, alert thresholds) is driven by your organization’s policies—no end-user tuning required.
Enterprise deployment
Supports silent installation and policy enforcement via your organization’s MDM/GPO.
How it works
Install & authenticate
Users sign in with their organization credentials to bind the browser to a device profile.
Observe AI activity
Each navigation to an approved AI domain generates an activity record (URL, timestamp, device/user identifiers).
A small heartbeat event is sent periodically to indicate the extension is running.
If enabled, clipboard copy events on monitored pages are recorded with admin-defined redaction.
Visualize & act
Events appear in the Cyberaura Horizon dashboard for real-time visibility, alerts, and exportable audit logs.
Privacy & data handling
Minimal, purpose-bound collection: Only AI-related activity is monitored. No general browsing history is collected. No keylogging, screenshots, or page content scraping.
Clipboard is opt-in: Clipboard capture is disabled by default and can only be enabled by an administrator.
Secure transport & storage: All telemetry is sent over TLS to your organization’s Cyberaura backend (Supabase). Row-Level Security (RLS) isolates data per organization.
Policy-based redaction: Administrators can redact or truncate clipboard data before it leaves the browser.
Privacy Policy: https://www.eliteaiconsulting.org/privacy-policy
Permissions explained
Host permissions for approved AI domains: Needed to observe navigation and (optionally) clipboard copy events on those sites. Your organization controls the allowlist.
alarms: Schedules heartbeat signals.
storage: Stores minimal local settings and device bindings.
scripting / webNavigation: Injects lightweight content scripts on approved domains and listens for navigation events.
We request only the permissions required for these functions and scope them to the minimum set of AI domains your organization approves.
What’s new in 2.0.1
Improved domain allowlisting with centrally managed host updates.
More robust heartbeat scheduling and reconnection logic.
Tighter permissions & externally-connectable restrictions to align with Chrome Web Store policies.
Performance and reliability tweaks for large fleets.
