Description from store Ever wanted to copy a hidden anchor in a page and had trouble finding it? Use this tool to reveal hidden anchors in webpages. TO USE: Right click an open webpage, and chose "Show Anchors". A small icon will appear next to the location of each hidden anchor in your current page. Simply click the anchor icon to copy the direct link to your clipboard. SHORTCUTS: - Ctrl+Shift+A will toggle anchors on the current tab. - Alternatively, pressing the "Esc" button will hide the anchor icons on the current tab if they are visible. CHANGELOG: Version 1.8 - Squashed a bug that caused the Show Anchors icon to function improperly when hovering/clicking-to-copy. Version 1.7 - Added ability to see any element with an "id" attribute, not just specifically anchor html elements, as was the case in previous versions Version 1.6 - Fixed issues with the context menu after Chrome update Version 1.4 - Anchors are kept inline to prevent the page from scrolling when exposing anchors. Hovering over them brings them to the front to easily copy the link to the clipboard. PERMISSIONS: Show Anchors requires access to data on all websites solely for the purpose of adding the icon to the page. No personal or browsing information is stored by this extension.

  • (2020-02-06) RootWebGod: Show Anchors extension version 1.7 does not appear to function at all for me in Google Chrome version 80.0.3987.87 (Official Build) (64-bit) on macOS Mojave version 10.14.6 (18G3020). As an alternative, the Display #Anchors extension version 1.4 does work for me in the same browser version.

  • (2013-09-16) Stephen Eastridge: Doesn't work for me. I right click and select "show anchors" and get a few. I can open same page in Firefox and do show anchors and see dozens. Wish it would work as I use this frequently.

  • (2012-11-23) Gaëtan Lehmann: I've wanted this feature for so long! It works just great. Thanks!
  • (2012-09-14) Jörg von Frantzius: Works for <a> tags, but not for id attributes, which can equally be used in URLs separated with "#". Would it be possible to also support id attributes? It would be totally awesome, and a unique feature as far as I can tell, if a vertical navigation view could be displayed for headings that have anchors, with indentation according to heading level, like in Word's document structure viewer. Thanks for the extension!
  • (2012-05-30) Much needed. Can't believe an extension like this didn't exist yet. A++++ would download again.

  • (2022-11-23, v:1.8) Gidon Kenar: Anchor icon hidden behind text is unclickable
In pages edited with Elementor, using Menu Anchor widget to add anchors to page. the Show Anchors option (of this extension) displays the anchor's icon behind the text of the beginning or end of the first text line (depends on LTR/RTL language). This effectively prevent selecting or clicking the anchor icon or seeing its name. couldn't find any workaround for this. It might be good if the icone would be 'on top' or somewhat removed, so it won't be hidden by page text.
  • (2022-07-14, v:1.8) David Davenport: I don't see the anchors - what am I doing wrong ?
I have the extension added and enabled. I get the option when I right click, but I do not see any anchors, even on pages I know have anchors. I am using Chrome Version 103.0.5060.114 (Official Build) (64-bit). What a I doing wrong ?
