i can see great potential for this extension. You've already got the default generation of colors sorted. However what if for example you have a high definition image and you only want to generate a palette from a certain portion of that image? As a web dev myself i can see this becoming extremely popular in place of the eyedropper tools commonly used which only allow for selection of a few pixels.
