Avira eventually deleted Avira because she couldn't catch the virus that existed at the time of installation However, Avira Safe Plus has not been deleted, and every time you run Google Chrome, you get a notification that it's installed again every time you turn off and turn on your computer. I no longer want to look at Avira-related products at all. I know that the way Avira Support says it will never be erased. We've tried to delete it through the registry, but it's still hidden in an invisible folder. Even in the registry, they are no longer searched. It is really unpleasant to have to format a computer to delete Avira.

• (2019-07-14) Daniel: This extension keeps adding itself even after removing it. I never asked to install it, and after I remove it it prompts to reinstall again without my asking. As other commentators have mentioned removing it using Adwcleaner or other means does nothing as after you restart and re-open chrome its asking again to reinstall. Why is my antivirus software acting like malware? I encourage you to report this extension for abuse. Clearly falls under "You don't know how this item was installed, or you never wanted this item". Maybe if enough reports Avira will do something about this.

W.: Sicherheit mag die App ja bieten, wenn aber in den Suchanzeigen vor den gesuchten Ergebnissen erst 3 andere "Werbeseiten" angezeigt werden, dann geht das zu weit und ist wohl nicht Sinn der Sache. Werbung ok und verständlich, aber nicht wenn man für das komplette Avira Paket bezahlt hat.

• (2018-09-17) Michael Callaghan: Windows 10 64 bit. Removed all Avira products once they started loading other Avira products which I never asked for, nor wanted.. I have removed Avira Safesearch plus a minimum of 10 times. Then cleaned cache, cookies... Rebooted, reset winsock. Extension was gone - until I resigned into Chrome & surprise! Avira Safesearch Plus was just added to Chrome. Even though I have app & extension sync turned off. A simple Google search will show that this is deliberate. Reading the comments from Avira are a joke. Oh, we're so sorry, tell us about your life so we can stall with our placating, fake symathy. We just want to help. give us more information so that we can make your life wonderful. You want to help? How about NOT REINSTALLING YOURSELF WHEN I HAVE REMOVED IT!!! The sad part is, that Avira USED to be a good product. I think it's been bought by North Korea.

• (2018-05-15) Megan: DO NOT INSTALL ANY AVIRA PRODUCTS if you value your device. I only tried Avira because I was tired of seeing the ads from AVG after downgrading to only the free version. Avira slowed down my system worse than before I restored it! The obtrusive ads and constant "updating" is ridiculous and unnecessary. Going to be sticking to windows built in tools and browser extensions.

At first I didn't know until yesterday when I began getting popups from Avira on most web pages trying to sell me anything, the last straw was when I was on youtube and it was trying to sell me a Trump Halloween mask, and anytime I tried closing it on the page it would reappear when I would scroll. Avira, you really need to fix this garbage program.
