Filters out unwanted artists/images while browsing on Furaffinity.net

Image from store Filter Affinity
Description from store Ever been browsing all the great art on FurAffinity and come across something you didn't like? Yeah, me too. So I made this. Welcome to Filter Affinity! It filters out content based on artist names and keywords in the submission titles and short descriptions on the Home, Browse, Gallery and Search pages. If you wish to always display artwork by a certain artist, their names can be listed to allow to do just that. Hovering over a submission thumbnail will show a Add/Remove option box. Clicking the plus(+) symbol adds the artist's name to the filter list automatically. Clicking the minus(-) symbol removes the artist from the filter list. You can also filter by the submission rating, and even just block out the entire submission or just hide the thumbnail! Easy! No longer worry about scarring your eyes with material you'd rather not stumble across. Try out Filter Affinity today!

  • (2022-11-05) Glob: While it doesn't filter out by tags, which would be ideal, the ability to block out certain keywords in titles as well as artists entirely is very helpful. Definitely improves the Furaffinity browsing experience!
  • (2022-06-06) 1120_Cecille (Cecille): Filtered out some stuff, but unfortunately not every tags stuff properly.
  • (2022-03-10) 578 destroy: Whenever I use FA, I am fortunate to have a program that allows me to block pictures that I do not want to see even at a minimum. It would be better to keep fixing it to a better version.
  • (2022-01-10) Alexander Mak: It's not perfect but it's the best we got, it just works.
  • (2021-08-12) Elizabeth Lazuli: I can't imagine browsing FurAffinity without this extension.
  • (2021-02-15) Gyro Tech: Kinda disapointed that its so limited in scope. Why does it only work on the home, browse, and search pages? It should also work in gallery pages or watched pages since some users have eclectic tastes and I want to see some of their stuff, but not the stuff I want filtered out. EDIT: Looks like it does work in gallery pages too, though it should also work in watch lists. Though, the filter by keyword in titles is not working, which is why I thought it didnt work in galleries. EDIT2: ok, looks like it works for keywords, only if you are blocking an artist first. So block a dead account like "Nip"
  • (2020-11-21) Aaron Sherwood: Completely nonfunctional as of current day.
  • (2019-11-28) A Scyther Named Scyther: It works... about half the time. I'm still seeing a lot of what I don't wanna see. There really needs to be a way to block by tag; blocking by artist really seems overkill.
  • (2019-09-22) Andrea Sutinen: not as helpful as i was hoping for (i wanna be able to filter tags but this cant do that) but at least it might catch the few posts that have the bad thing in the title of their work. at least i can spare my eyes from those.
  • (2019-06-07) Jasuchin Faron: Not what I was hoping for, sadly, seeing as the content I'd hoped to filter out uses tags, not the titles.
  • (2017-05-24) Joshua: I like this but is it possible to filter stuff in there gallery when your on there page? also is it possible to block there tags and the "Type" of picture it is?
  • (2017-03-21) Tesla Reloaded: It works. But only for main page. It doesn't filter journals or submissions. Which makes this plugin pretty much useless.
  • (2017-01-31) Shade, the Raven Witch: Broken, broken, broken. The icon is permanently greyed out on the Chrome toolbar, so I can't access it to change settings. Even tried removing it and restoring it, but it didn't fix anything.

  • (2022-09-27, v:1.5.3) White and Birdy: Extension Not Working?
As of today, the extension doesn't appear to be working properly - going to the search, browse, a user's favourites, or the new submissions page brings up a "Data cleared" message, and users who I have blacklisted still show up in the results. The floating add/remove buttons for blacklisting a user still seem to add them to the list properlly, it's just not being filtered out. Thanks a ton for this plugin, btw! Being able to filter out content I don't want to see is a godsend.
  • (2021-02-16, v:1.4.2) Gyro Tech: Major Bug in FilterAffinity
Hey, just letting you know that right now the filteraffinity plugin has a bug wherein unless you have an artist blocked, the keyword blocking fails to work as well. The issue appears to be on line 74. The variable galleryDivsSubset is replaced with 'newGallerySubset' which never initialized properly if there are no filtered artists and returns an empty set. I recommend moving line 74 within the filter by artists name IF block. Also, if your manifest.json could include *://*.furaffinity.net/msg/submissions/, or better yet, just *://*.furaffinity.net/* that would be great. That way the whole site might be filtered properly.
