Description from store Don’t ‘Add to Cart’ - Put it on ice! Icebox for Chrome replaces the Buy button on the most popular E-Commerce stores, automatically saving you from your weakest moments. Icebox also adds a reminder on over 400 online stores. Once it’s on ice, the cooling period begins. Once you put an item on ice, it will be added to your own personal icebox. You won’t be able to buy the item until the cooling period is over. The urge to buy is given time to chill, so that cooler heads prevail. Set the cooling period for as long as you’d like. Experts recommend a 30-day rule, but even a few days can really help. You’ll often find the impulse to buy passes over time, and you’ll decide not to buy the thing in the end. That’s exactly what icebox is designed for - to help you make better decisions. We’re prone to making emotional decisions. Companies know this and try to cash in. Online stores are designed to make you buy without thinking. Icebox is your last line of defense. Take back control of your spending. Icebox appears wherever you choose. Is there another site where you do most of your impulse buying? Simply add it to the list. Don’t want icebox to appear on certain sites? No worries. You can adjust that in the settings too. See how much you’ve saved. Icebox keeps a running total of all the items you’ve put on ice, and all the money you’ve saved. Impulse buying is any unplanned purchase you make. This can hit your budgets and bank account hard before you’ve even noticed. See how much these decisions could cost you before it’s too late.

  • (2021-11-30) Bree Walters: Doesn't even work. There is no pop up to add anything. No way to make an account so even if there was a way to add anything, you would lose it all if you deleted the app or used it on another computer.
  • (2021-08-21) Ally: It's a really smart idea, but doesn't work well for international users. I'm Brazilian and it won't work even on Amazon's website.

Needs a Way to Break the Ice in case of emergencies. Perhaps with a series of passive aggressive dialog boxes. Are you sure you want to break this out of the ice? Are you really really sure? Can you seriously afford to buy this? Are you seriously going to use it? Can you hold off on buying this for a some time? Can you hold off on buying this for a little time?

It doesn't block Amazon.com. I have even added it manually.
  • (2021-01-10, v:1.0.9.1) Sara Hubner: Doesn't Work!
Ice Box isn't working for me at all. I set it for all sites but I've made several purchases—including Amazon.com—since I installed it, and the "Put On Ice" button or pop-up doesn't appear.
  • (2020-10-22, v:1.0.9.1) Vasudha Duggirala: It Doesn't Block Buttons
I added all my sites to the list like it said to but the extension will only block the 'Add to Cart' button at Amazon.com. It does display the reminder 'Put it on ice' when I start logging in but after that it won't block the buttons. Please help me.

For some reason, the "add to cart" button is not replaced by the icebox option, nor is "proceed to checkout". How would I go about fixing this? Thank you.
  • (2018-01-22, v:1.0.9.1) Lars: Please add other domains than .com
I'm located in Europe and would love to use it here too. But for Amazon it only works with the .com Site not with Amazon.de. Please add the feature
