eBay item location - My country only
Always start your eBay search for items in your country location only.
As a frequent eBay user, I often found myself setting the filter to items in my location only. Despite the long running feedback from many users on the need for the stickiness of item location preference, eBay has yet to provide a solution.
To facilitate a more efficient search, I wrote this extension that defaults my eBay searches to only items in my location. It has saved me a lot of time so I'm publishing the extension for everyone's use.

Fantastic App. Works like a charm in Australia. No fuss, just install the extension and search away in your own country. Ebay has the most intrusive search settings. I'm in Australia. Why the hell would I want to search the US, find an item I like, then have to pay more than the item is worth in postage? The fact Ebay won't let you permanently set a search criteria is a disgrace.
exactly the feature ebay should have by default, but they want you to buy chinese as 90% of their income comes from China... Works perfectly in chrome on a mac in the UK eBay store as of 01/05/2025.
Does not work with ebay.de for some reason (works for ebay.com)
At last. eBay's fixation has irritated me for years. I (usually) don't want to see US etc items because the shipping and tax to GB makes them uncompetitive. Thank you. You should add a way for people to "buy you a coffee"; I would.
Works for me, thanks one less thing to drive me crazy and saves time.
Stopped working if it worked at all since it just says "your region". I'd like a real selection to at least test. Definitely lets US products through in the EU.
Unfortunately doesn't work. Try to filter by continent - Europe - and keeps showing me stuff in the USA and China.
Good but has an annoying issue that's wasted a lot of my time and caused a lot of frustration. If you delete your ebay cookies, you will lose your customize search, ie, the default sorting. List view, price low to high, etc. Reproduction of the issue: Delete cookies Lose customization Re-do customization Customization doesn't stick because of this extension. Work around: Delete cookies Lose customization Disable this extension Re-do customization (works) Re-enable this extension.
not working, the ebay search is broken so maybe that is why this is broken too. I am in europe if i choose my continent i get items only from china. I have to redo the search to be able to disable it because on the extension it changes nothing.

I installed this on both my laptop and my desktop. It works great on my laptop, but on my desktop it stopped working after a couple of weeks.

This never did what I hoped it would - set the search item location to the U.S. I had it installed for a year and it never worked. That's my experience anyway.

Thankyou so much for doing something so straightforward. It annoyed me in the past but it especially annoys me now because ordering stuff from overseas during a pandemic is extra impractical. Now I don't have to keep making sure I've remembered to choose Australia Only. You are a God among eBay users.

As a frequent user to eBay this is a great solution to a long standing problem of not being able to set UK only as a default search location.
