• (2024-04-21) Bible Thumper: it was good when it worked but its not working anymore (the x doesnt show up next to channels or comments). It happened before i updated chrome and persisted after updating. when i manually try to add a user to the list and refresh it doesnt do anything either. April 2024: developers gave up on this one, all the accounts i blocked in the past are unblocked despite their names still being on the list on the extension.

• (2023-12-27) A R: It is very hit and miss. Sometimes it works perfectly and other times it doesn't. There seems to be something that youtube keeps changing that makes the block by title to only work partially. This extension hasn't been updated in over a year so hopefully it hasn't been abandoned like I was as a child and if updated we will be able to block shorts but that is very doubtful.

In combination with uBlock Origin and SponsorBlock essential to prevent the urge to vomit on the YouTube website. However, once the list of blocked channels gets very long, this extension makes YouTube freeze and crash. I think the problem is when loading comments under videos. Please fix.

I was getting SO SICK!!!! of stupid spammy accounts showing up REPEATEDLY in my front page and in search results that had NOTHING to do with what I was searching. Not sure what these guys paid Youtube to basically insert themselves into every "Recommended" option Youtube offers. Accidentally click on one video and you will be haunted for years to come. And clicking "Do Not Recommend" never works, especially in searching. I open this add-on and type in the name of the channel I want to block. Viola. Channel gone!!! I had about 7 of the "Movie Recap" channels that rotate through my recommended feed. Now, I no longer see their garbage content. It SUPER improves my experience. Overall, pretty happy with a feature that Youtube should have included on their platform years ago.

  The extension cannot import blocklists that are very large (100,000+ lines), in which case it would use 100% of CPU AND RAM and crash the browser/the entire device.

  I would love to have an option to not block comments from user, and i know that im not the only one. Some people (me in particular) use this extension to block channels that we already subscribed to, to exclude them from search or recommendations, since we already have them in subscription feed. Extension logic to check the channel for a name or id and remove such channels from feed. My problem is I can't access the DOM element of the current youtube page. I try to use this code line document.querySelector("#meta-contents #channel-name a").text. It works in the browser console but when i do the same from the content-script i get this Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading 'text') I also get this error in Stack Trace chrome extension console: content-script.js:1 (anonymous function). Through YouTube API 3.0, this is also not possible, as I already understood. I would be very grateful if you could push me how to get the name of the current YouTube channel that user is viewing. I'm looking forward to your hint. Thanks in advance.

  The extension was fantastic, but now it blocks almost everything. If I do a search, no results are shown. If I look at a video there is nothing in the suggested next viewing along the right side. If I go into history, there are no videos shown there. If I am on a video there are no comments shown at all. It shows that there is a comment, and it has reply and such showing, but none of the words for the comments are there, nor can I reply to anything.   It works beautifully, however, it does not filter the google search result for the channel's video which then lead to the video/playlist made by the blocked channel, effectively bypassing it/useless. I suggest also blocking the video from the channel on top of filtering and removing the search result from the channel.   I use an android web-browser (kiwi) on the phone that supports chrome extensions and naturally i use your lovely extension as well there too alongside a few more for youtube (to have genuine modularity over youtube when android apps fail to have further options in one pack, instead of many apps that each one has something the other doesn't). now in "desktop site" option, on the phone's screen the blocked videos remain blocked but on the mobile versions are not. (I know it's too much of a detail and presumably you developed the extension for desktop use only, that's why i ask to look into that as a suggestion rather a problem) could you make the extension to keep the blocked videos blocked on the mob. version of youtube? (assuming it's made in mind for www.youtube.com without m.youtube.com in mind as said before.). interested for this little extended functionality to the extension?

  Why was this removed? It was the main way I used this extension. I prefered it over the block-button as that button is easy to hit on accident.
