Comment Overlay allows you to read comments while watching YouTube videos. Comments are shown as an overlay on top the video. You can show/hide comments by clicking the extension button.

works as it claims HOWEVER you can't mute/unmute or user some left side controls under the youtube video; so it will make using it difficult unless you don't care to use controls. hopefully it's fixed

this was almost a great addon, except I had 2 issues: - I want to always have comments sorted by Top Rated, this addon has some other sort, probably by Newest - the 'Dark Mode' option won't stay toggled, I have to turn it on for each video

Easy to use, great! Other plugins need a timestamp to display comments, this one doesn’t need

Good but causes issues interacting with YouTube when enabled. Cannot use end screen and a few other problems I can't think of at the moment, uninstalled.

This is an amazing extension! It's made YouTube such a better experience. I love being able to watch something and not lose context while reading the comments. I can't go back to watching youtube without it
