  • (2022-06-24) Serguei Khasimkhanov: On each refresh the sidebar shows for a split second causing a jarring UI adjustment, but at least it works.

  • (2018-12-28) Rafaello Adler-Abramo: Used to work perfectly, but now it doesn't function. I found a similar extension called "reddit Sidebar Hider", that works correctly.
  • (2018-11-14) Thomas: This extension recently stopped working after an update to Chrome. It used to automatically hide the side bar but now I have to click show sidebar then hide sidebar for it to work on each tab.
  • (2018-08-06) Nathan Guy: Used to love this. Now the option to hide the sidebar doesn't show anymore.
  • (2018-07-24) Nicholas DeGaetano: Loved this extension but no longer working on Reddit for about the last month. Please fix!
  • (2018-07-14) Augustine Kuah: This is the best reddit extension, but it has suddenly stopped working. Please help!
  • (2018-06-24) Eric: Worked awesome until reddit redesign, leaving a LOT more space so you can use the other half of your monitor for other things like work or netflix. UNFORTUNATELY, it does not work as it is not set to scan and activate on old.reddit.com Please dev add this to the compatible sites list so it will still work :)
  • (2018-06-06) David: Doesn't work with r/gamedev's filters (ex: https://nq.reddit.com/r/gamedev/#nq-filter). (It doesn't appear.) It flashes the sidebar on load. After years of enjoying this extension, I've switched to "reddit Sidebar Hider" because it fixes the above problems.
  • (2018-05-29) Marcos Foster: This no longer works due to the Reddit redesign forcing people to go to old.reddit.com.
  • (2018-04-14) Robert from Sheetgo: Not working anymore
  • (2018-04-01) Chris Lees: While you CAN hide the side bar, it doesn't change the format of the page so.. it's basically pointless. :D
  • (2018-03-29) T.D. Eastvold: I split my monitor between 2 windows a lot on my laptop and this is a god send. Drives me nuts that reddit doesn't have a better responsive design, but this at least helps with some of those shortcomings. I see some other users complained that it doesn't fill in the page, but so far it has been working exactly as intended for me.
  • (2018-02-24) Mark Titus: Does the job.
  • (2017-12-13) Jason Biggs: Works fine, hides the whole sidebar and frees up the space for the thread. Make sure you still read the sidebar before posting, folks.
  • (2017-10-18) Robert Thompson: It hides the sidebar, but the empty space isn't filled in. So my browser is mostly taken up by empty space now, not the actual comments or post that I wanted. Gave it 2 stars because it does what it's title implies, just poorly in my opinion
  • (2017-06-08) Katie Ng: So easy to set up. Did exactly what it said it would
  • (2017-01-19) Bobice Jackson: Extremely helpful, easy to use. When reddit is on half the screen, the comments get shortened to a few words per sentence, increasing the height of the comment greatly. This fixes it.
  • (2016-10-20) Zach hall: cant seeit
  • (2016-10-15) Justin Collum: Did what I wanted and took me 20 seconds tops to get it done. Didn't have to turn off subreddit style but that's probably subreddit dependent.
  • (2016-10-10) Hart Russell: Does exactly what it says it'll do. Works with RES
  • (2016-09-19) James Born: WORKS! Also shows the WHOLE area instead of leaving a big blank space. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!!!!!! 8/19/2016
  • (2016-06-19) Works i guess, but it doesn't extent the page to the right to provide more space (the whole reason i need it). it simply hides and leaves a huge empty space - so it's kinda useless in this.
  • (2016-06-13) Ramzi: Works perfectly with RES!
  • (2016-02-26) Eric Gooley: Works great, you just have to disable 'use subreddit style'
  • (2015-10-17) A S: it doesnt remove the white space the sidebar leaves behind

  • (2017-03-28, v:0.5) michael hurley: Content margin size
On some reddit pages while the sidebar is hidden the content div has a margin the same size as the sidebar. Currently im using a user script to add css to reddit pages to remove the margin. Below is css I'm adding 'body > div.content {margin-right:5px;}'
  • (2016-05-09, v:0.5) Feureau: Opera Version
Hey, I've been using this extension on chrome for a long time, but I recently switched to Opera and I was hoping you can put this up on opera's extension store so it can be installed on opera too. Please and thank you!
  • (2014-09-09, v:0.4) Ryan D: https support
Hello - When switching to reddit https, the hide sidebar link is removed. https is new for reddit, but I bet a bunch of people will switch over. Any way we can update the extension to include https:// ?
  • (2014-03-07, v:0.4) Jerodar: Content is not stretched in all subreddits
In certain subreddits the sidebar is removed but the content field is not expanded to the right, leaving an empty space. This for example happens inside of threads on /r/pcgaming (but not on it's main page) and on all pages including the main page of /r/Wildstar.
