Enhances the Salesforce change set. Adds last changed date and allows sorting, searching, validation and comparison with other orgs.
A chrome extension to improve the usability of Salesforce change sets
NEW! Release 3.0!
Now Lightning Compatible!
Features include:
- Includes the last modified date and user and api name for each item.
- Automatically ordered by most recent modified first
- Filter/Search/Order by any field.
- Sets all pages to show the 1000 rows. If more than 1000 items in a page, asks if you want to continue to retrieve more.
- View and Search on items in the change set. This allows you to see the whole change set and search to make removing much easier.
- Compare to another org (uses OAuth2.0 -- no username or password information is seen or stored by this extension).
- Shows the last modified date and user for the compared org as well.
- Click the file name to see a diff of the metadata file between orgs.
Note that there is a delay when loading large pages and you may need to disable other chrome extensions that alter the change set page.
Please feel free to report bugs, or issues or request new features!

Release 2.02
Now can compare files between orgs. Log in to a sandbox or dev/prod org. Uses Oauth2.0 for authorization -- no user or password information is seen or stored locally. Shows the last modified date and user for the compared org. Click the name and see a diff comparison of the two.
Release 1.4
Updated to add ability to keep getting 1000 more items on pages. (Salesforce will only retrieve 1000 a time.) Added in a "clear" function to clear the search filters. Clear is automatically called before items are added to change set -- this is because of a bug where the items will not be added unless they are visible.
Release 1.3
Updated to support workflows, reports, email templates and many more.

- (2023-09-01) Aldous Salvador: This changes the life of every SF admin. Big changesets are super easy and fast to make now.
- (2023-07-25) Will there be an update to this tool so that it supports a web server Oauth flow? With API Access controls enabled, this tools is inaccessible without having Use Any API Client.
- (2023-06-12) Jake Bullard: Game changer. This tool makes change set useable.
- (2023-02-21) Marc Feeney: If you use change sets, this is an absolutely crucial tool -- especially if you are in an older org with tons of records and metadata. I've not really found much use in the compare functions, but the auto-sort of component lists alone is incredibly helpful. It automatically sorts components by type and last modified date, which saves time every time for every element you add to a change set. If you aren't making a move to DevOps, do yourself a favor and install this extension!
- (2022-11-18) Kaushik Ruparel: fantastic!
- (2022-07-28) ex-Jesse Grimm: Absolutely essential for anyone who uses Change Sets in Salesforce. This app has saved me countless hours in customer deployments.
- (2022-03-15) Alex Carroll: I have used this for years - I will say there were small periods of time where it did not work, but I kept coming back hopeful and it has worked for me consistently for the last year or so.. even in Lightning! I used to have to switch to Classic but it works well for me in Lightning now which is great. I would say this is my favorite Salesforce Chrome extension.
- (2022-03-10) Muse Operations: This thing is amazing. Perhaps one of the worst features in Salesforce, this thing gets it right and fixes it.
- (2021-08-31) Aaron Clark: It worked on my windows machine. Trying it now on Mac. Will edit review later, but seems to be a pretty solid, free extension to use to stop wasting as much time as change sets take.
- (2021-07-28) William Grymuza: I regret to inform that there is an issue with this extension. Recently Chrome had an update and since then this extension is not performing few bits... When we add custom fields, this extension was asking (via popup) if we are ok to load anothe rbatch of data (I think it was breaking it into batches of 1000 records). Since last chrome update - this popup doesn't show anymore (in lightning) which means extension is not indexing all custom fields. It still works in classic, but would be nice to get this fixed... From what I can see, this is due to javascript popups being simply completely blocked by chrome without any indication that they should be there. And it impacts us only on lightning interface, classic is still fine... Any ideas how to fix this?
- (2021-03-05) Maxwell Lessard: I'll never go back to not using this.
- (2021-03-04) Andrii Vertseshuk: Really helpful tool
- (2021-02-11) Matthew Chevalier: Froze up my change set screen. Didn't do anything else.
- (2020-10-28) Louis Santiago: Very useful for selecting components for a change set. For me, the feature that lets you search the already selected components was not working making it still hard to navigate through larger change sets. The new features are a nice plus.
- (2020-10-26) Alex Carroll: I've used this extension for years, even didn't mind switching back to Classic because it was so helpful. Now with it working in Lightning, it's a game changer! So awesome, thank you for building it.
- (2020-07-14) Michael Kearney: Woohoo! It works in Lightning now!! I no longer have to switch to Classic to use this very helpful extension. As an extra bonus, it now also works with Global Picklists. Life is good (well, except for all the bad stuff happening in the world today). Regarding the experience with this extension, it definitely helps save time when putting together a large change set. Not sure why this isn't native functionality with Salesforce. The biggest help is with custom fields. Being able to surface the most recently modified (or other preferred sort) is a time saver. If you have a few thousand fields, it does take a minute or two to sort them, but once that's done it'll save you many more minutes than that in finding the fields you need. Oh, it's also free. That's a good thing!
- (2020-07-10) David Bruce: Necessary tool for deploying with Change Sets.
- (2020-06-29) Mike K: Excellent tool - nice one Sue!
- (2020-06-26) Diana Wells: LOVE THIS!! I loath how error prone and manually change set deployments are. This extension has manual deployments so much easier and less risky! If we had the budget I would love Gearset or Corpado, but this extension literally makes manual change sets bearable!! Thank you!!!
- (2020-03-25) mohnish garg: Its just rendering again and again. Useless extesion
- (2020-03-13) Steven Hayhurst: Love this extension. Makes adding to change sets so much quicker and easier.
- (2020-01-07) Ben Patterson: Five stars if it would work in lightning. Great otherwise.
- (2020-01-06) Yonathan Goriachnick: Very good tool! Still need to add support for Global Value Sets and for orgs with restricted http sessions setting..
- (2019-12-05) Nora: I downloaded this extension but it has never worked for me. I've tried several different things but no luck. I click on it and nothing happens. when i click on it, all it keeps saying is, "Welcome to Salesforce Change Set Helper". Is there a fix for this?? please help
- (2019-10-10) Ram Chundu: I really liked the extension, but have started getting below exception from last 1 week. ERROR: ........... Remote invocation failed, due to: status code:
- (2019-09-28) Mark Mogridge: Thank you for saving me hours and hours of battling with the 'native' Change Set. Being able to see the recent changes in the Org and add them, and to find items in the existing Set without going... Next Next Next Next Next ... THANK YOU!
- (2019-09-13) It used to work perfectly, but now, when I select e.g. Custom Fields it just gives me the java wait spinner and I can't use the page. Unticking the 'Require HTTPOnly Attribute' did not solve the problem. Please help.
- (2019-08-30) Belva KUM: I used it very often for changeset deployment. Very Useful. However, now it keeps loading when I click edit the change set. Any issue?
- (2019-08-28) Yi Tan: This extension seems not working in Lightning?
- (2019-07-12) Dmitriy Romanchuk: Helps with deploy process
- (2019-06-27) Richard Wintle: Nice extension. Took a bit of trial and error to find stuff. I'd like to see: - compare on items in the change set. Seems I can only compare when adding items in the 'Add' screen. - show on the page the org name being compared with. - should not have to click Compare to org button to see compare column every time page refreshes. - click of compare to org always displays login window, but I can close that (without login) to use the last selected logged-in org (I think) - which is not obvious. - what is the connected app package: Salesforce Change Set Helper? It came up in a sandbox I was comparing to. Does it need installing on all orgs? I seem to be able to compare orgs without it. Great tool - but could do with more detailed instructions.
- (2019-05-28) Luke Snelgar: This works great in classic! Would be good to have it work in Lightning also. Only issue I've had so far is it currently throws an error for me when attempting to add Global Value Sets - "ERROR: ........... {faultcode:'sf:INVALID_TYPE', faultstring:'INVALID_TYPE: Unknown type:Picklist', }"
- (2019-02-14) Adam Lederman: This is a much needed enhancement to the change set creation process! One thing that would be great is if there was a way to set a last modified date filter prior to the initial load of the components, in orgs with 1000's of components, it would reduce the list to the components that are most likely to be part of the change set one is creating.
- (2018-12-18) Mitch Conquer: Saves so much time and makes creating changesets relatively painless. No idea why this isn't standard functionality in Salesforce...
- (2018-11-14) For Reviews: Love this tool. Change sets were such a nightmare before finding this.
- (2018-10-18) Awesome!!! Great talent from my co-worker Susan :)
- (2018-09-06) Pranav Sharma: Great helped me a lot during deployments.. Best out of all deployment chrome extensions available
- (2018-08-16) Robert Nunemaker: It used to work great, but it doesn't work any more. When it tells me I have more than 1000 items and to continue or cancel, when I cancel it just gives me the java wait spinner and I can't use the page.
- (2018-08-16) Junaya Raika: Awesome - big help for identifying components to add to a changeset.
- (2018-07-08) Waqar Ahsan: It was working perfectly. But suddenly it isnt working anymore. It gets stuck on loading and doesnt pick dates etc fields from SF. I have tried it on 4,5 different PC's and 4,5 different systems.
- (2018-01-25) ben campbell: makes my life so much easier.
- (2018-01-03) Arnab KarSarkar: This extension is awesome
- (2017-11-21) Gabe Grimley: Incredible extension to improve Change Sets. One small thing is that this does not work in Lightning. An example that can save a ton of time: Say you added 5 custom fields. With this extension, you can filter by Type (dropdown), Date Modified, Modified By, and in a few seconds you see all of the Case fields you added yesterday.
- (2017-10-18) Igor Umansky: No more working with last version of Chrome .. rotating wheel never stops on classes, triggers, etc ..
- (2017-09-08) Pankaj Paryani: Perfect Helper. :)
- (2017-07-05) Anita Hedges: Excellent tool - makes deployments pain free!
- (2017-04-21) Kirill Yunussov: Awesome tool, thank you!
- (2017-03-30) Vladyslav Kushney: Extremely helpful!
- (2017-03-23) Charlotte Gibson: Suddenly after installing this, the devs in our team are competing to be the one to get to build the changeset, rather than dreading having to spend hours building it. Definitely a game-changer for building changesets. Like a previous user, we get the spinning wheel when loading lots of items (our org has 4000+ fields) but it gets there eventually, and for a big change set, it's definitely worth waiting for. I've tried a couple of change set helpers but this one takes the cake, with the ability to filter by date modified and last modified by - not to mention diffing with other orgs. Thanks Susan Bohme! :)
