Many HTTPS-secured sites on the internet use OpenSSL. Unfortunately, a major vulnerability in OpenSSL was disclosed - known as the Heartbleed bug - yesterday that put hundreds of thousands of servers at risk of compromise.
Whilst some servers have been patched already, many remain that have not been patched. Chromebleed uses a web service developed by Filippo Valsorda and checks the URL of the page you have just loaded. If it is affected by Heartbleed, then a Chrome notification will be displayed. It's as simple as that!
Please note that, in some jurisdictions, site testing can only be carried out with the express permission of the site owner. Please check what the law says in your local area before proceeding to download this extension.

Doesn't appear to be working anymore, which is a shame considering the 300,000+ servers still vulnerable to heartbleed....
It's so very good
I like that it warns me, but you don't need to continuously flood my screen forcing me to close chrome out all together.
It's cool It doesn't do anything the other reviewers say. I think they have something I don't have.
Uninstalled. It's inserting yieldsquare Javascript into pages. Yieldsquare is a monetization system. If the developer claims that's the only way to pop up the notice when it finds a site that has the Heartbleed I wouldn't believe them. Yieldsquare's motto is "The intersection of content and commerce."
I have been using this Google Chrome Extension ("Chromebleed") for about a week now. It works wonderfully, and it is Fantastic! I am so pleased with it that I shared and published about it on all my Social Media Accounts. Great Work! Thank you very much.

Recently started displaying a blocking page got HotSpot shield, requesting that you pay $19.99 for 6 months. Guessing that it's using a third party service to do these checks, and they've started charging.

Is it really necessary to show vulnerable popup for NON-https connections? The popup is quite annoying and there's no way to dismiss it for sites you're aware of. The popup also stays permanently until dismissed, stacking with itself. Reload a page 3 times and you have three popups, 1 would have be enough for the same site. Here's an idea, if it's even possible. What if non-secure https connections would show up with a specific color, say purple, right in the address field. Then it would give you a visual indication of a Heartbleed-vulnerable site without the annoying popups.

Seems to work fine, pops up a message that indicates a possible problem with a site. Been using it for about 2 weeks and it has only popped up twice. More detail would be nice about the app....
Had to remove, kept giving false positives and had no way to temporarily disable it or exclude a site.
Good concept. Would be nice for a better explanation of the options. What does "Show All Notifications" do, and why is it not checked by default?
