Duplicate Tab Shortcut
Press Alt+Shift+D to duplicate the current tab (Option+Shift+D on Mac). Shortcut is configurable.
There are additional shortcuts as well. You can configure and use all of them at the same time.
- There is a shortcut to open the new tab in a new window.
- There is a shortcut to pop the current tab (or multiple highlighted tabs) out to a new window.
- There is a shortcut to open a blank new tab to the immediate right of the current tab (i.e. instead of all the way to the right).
Tip: Even without this extension, it is possible to middle click the refresh button to duplicate the current tab.

Very Usefull Extension
It does something basic but so valuable to a power user.
why is this not an actual google feature lol
Simple and powerful. I put the duplicate tab to Ctrl+Shift+T. Configuration is easy and works like a charm.
It just works - simple as that. So seamless it feels like a browser feature.
lol it actually works
Gemini sent me here and you'd have fooled me that this was a legit Chrome feature. What's taking them so long?
Thanks a lot!
I don’t understand why Chrome’s product managers made such a poor decision. I’ve spent ages searching but couldn’t find a shortcut to duplicate a tab, nor could I figure out where to set it up. Please take a look at this extension instead. Can you optimize the user experience a bit?
Thanks, it seems, very useful
Nice!

My favorite extension ever!
Exactly what I needed! Great work, thank you.
This is a Must Have extension for anyone who uses the "Duplicate" feature in Chrome already.
Should be included by default on CHrome
THANK YOU!
I've no idea why chrome doesn't have any keyboard shortcut to duplicate tab. This extension works.
works for me, awesome, thanks
Works fine as of this writing. Thanks devs!
simple and perfect. this will save me countless clicks. thank you Stefan Sundin!!! NOTE: this extension *does not* read your pages either. Stefan you are doing the lord's work.
Pleasantly surprised to find this extension today. Very useful. Simple to understand and configure. Will use it on a daily basis. Wonder why these options were not already available by default many years ago. Glad it has not only "Duplicate (the current) tab shortcut" but also "New tab to the right shortcut" which is the second feature I was missing for so long. The other shortcuts are great bonuses, and I will use them also, just not as often. Thank you! My recommended settings are (if you don't print very often): Duplicate tab shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+K. (same as in ms edge) Duplicate to a new window shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+P. (instead of printing, p for pop out) Pop tab out to a new window shortcut: Ctrl+P. (instead of printing, p for pop out) New tab to the right shortcut: Ctrl+T. (same as in chrome, but opens to the right)
Useful
It is very useful
macht was es soll, sehr gut :) Strg + Shift + D (Duplicate) is what I use. Braucht keinen Webistezugriff: Automatisch Zugriff auf die folgenden Websites gewähren in den Chrome Erweiterungen Einstellungen um zu funktionieren..
Exactly what I was looking for. Genius is in simplicity.

Works like a charm! Allows me to use keyboard shortcuts to open new tabs within a group (which really should be a base feature in the browser).
