Description from extension meta

Import .ics files into Google Calendar with just two clicks

Image from store ICS to GCal
Description from store *** NOTE: Google Calendar's own ICS import functionality has been improved and may replace ICS to GCal for you: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/r/settings/export *** Found an interesting event online that comes as an iCal file (*.ics) and want to import it into one of your Google calendars? With ICS to GCal this will take just two clicks - no need to open the Google Calendar settings and pollute your list of calendars. ICS to GCal correctly imports recurrent events (to the extent they are supported by Google Calendar) and automatically fixes some deviations from the iCalendar specification that are rather common (such as trailing commas in date lists, exceptional dates not specified with the correct time,...). How to use: 0. Before the first use, click on the extension symbol in the browser toolbar to allow access to you calendars. 1. Right-click on a link to an iCal file (*.ics). 2. Select a calendar under "Add to calendar". A popup notification will inform you about the number of events added and allow you to view the event or undo the changes while they have not been committed. • (2023-11-07) Sunil Kumar: It did the job perfectly. Amazing. Some times i am getting a message that 'cant create events'. Any issues ?
  • (2023-02-24) Clinton Robertson: The extension works great, but the instructions on how to use it are poor. I figured it out by experimentation. They are as follows: 1. add extension to Chrome. 1. Right click on an ICal file on a webpage and select the ICS to Gcal icon. 3. Select which Gcal to add it to. 4. Check it on your gcal.
  • (2022-04-06) Alexander Jarde: A great time saver!
  • (2021-04-15) Jay Schaeffer: I just installed this extension and give it permissions. Nothing is happening when I click on ics calendar links
  • (2021-03-23) Julia Tungli: I have been using this for a very long time. It's one of my favorite extension. That said, I think something has changed. I frequently get an error now saying the ICS file is in the wrong format. I can still tediously go to my calendar and import it, so I feel like it should still work. Can you look into it? I don't even leave reviews normally, but I miss the smooth functionality...
  • (2021-03-19) Jules Silbert: Instructions are very confusing. Extension is installed, and permissions given. NOW WHAT? Going through the normal Google Calendar import page still doesn't work because file is over 2MB
  • (2021-02-15) Rolando Martins: Just works!
  • (2021-01-27) Scott Severance: Despite the disclaimer at the top of the description, this is exactly what I needed. A web service links to ics files instead of attaching them to the email, causing me to lose the automatic import functionality. This gave me back control. Thanks!
  • (2021-01-05) Jan Fuchs: Läuft einwandfrei!
  • (2020-10-21) Daniel D.: Just imports .ics to GCal without downloading the file!
  • (2020-09-16) Christopher Sweet: Works okay - most times when importing a calendar event to a shared calendar it states cannot create event. Checked to make sure it was authenticated with the account, still no luck.
  • (2020-02-06) Angel Monera Martinez: Finally an application to import ICS without weird coding and without needing to download the file
  • (2019-06-06) FNC LotusNotes: Excelent!
  • (2019-01-10) Well, this is the great tool when I have an issue on creating the event from outlook and including myself as an attendee. However, I have noticed that the information of Guests lists are gone after importing the invite.ics to google calendar. Can you please help to check on this wrong behavior? Thank you Thanapol
  • (2018-12-05) Works great!
  • (2018-10-09) Laura Smith: This was working fine until last week. It no longer works in Chrome. I have to open Firefox in order to import *.ICS files to my Google Calendar.
  • (2018-10-05) Pierre-Andre Conus: The ical file has an invalid format... (same that I can successfully import with Google calendar with one hundred clicks)
  • (2018-09-25) Joseph Tucker: Installed and does not work. Google Chrome Version 69.0.3497.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)/Windows 10.
  • (2018-09-19) Sven Dahmen: Macht das Leben etwas einfacher...:-)
  • (2018-01-05) Dmytro Yurchenko (1inuxoid): Finally a solution to my problem! Google Calendar was always able to register itself as webcal:// URL handler, but there was never a way to automatically import *.ICS files.

The extension is enabled (chrome>settings>extensions, slide to right. I closed out of all chrome windows. reopened, went to gmail, on the mail i have an attachment ICS file, with download. I right-clicked on the download link and there is no choice to add to calendar. What am I doing wrong? chrome version 97.0.4692.99 (Official Build) (64-bit)
  • (2021-02-22, v:0.9.1) Corentin Nedelec: Doesn't work from download
Hello, just wanted to report that the tool doesn't work if the ics file comes from download. What I mean is that if for example I downloaded an event so it can be accessed from the download panel of chrome (CTRL + J), here when right clicking on my ics file, I have the possibility of adding it to my calendar with the dropdown menu and everything but the final step with the popup doesn't work. If you need further details please ask me what you need! regards
  • (2020-11-28, v:0.9.1) Lan Trinh: Extension is greyed out
I've been using this extension for months but today, the extension is greyed out and when I click on an ICS file, I don't have the usual menu. Would be ever so grateful for some help.
  • (2020-06-12, v:0.8.0) Zachary Chester: Unable to Handle VTIMEZONE in .ics files
When I use the extension by right clicking on an .ics file link, it will commonly return a message "The iCal file has an invalid format." The only way I was able to get the events to successfully create was when I removed the VTIMEZONE section from the .ics file, suggesting that the extension cannot handle these .ics fields. Is this something that you could fix?
  • (2019-12-28, v:0.7.1) Nathan Fletcher: Event Creation Failing
Extension installed correctly, appears to see all of my calendars, allows me to right click add...but then fails. This is the event: https://www.khq.com/calendar/christmas-tree-recycling/event_f08cde14-259c-11ea-a5d5-df1043ab80f5.html

  • (2018-12-14, v:0.5.2) Can't create event
Says it can't create the event. Installed, permissioned, right-click to add. Saying it's importing then says it can't
  • (2018-05-16, v:0.5.1) Event Creation Failing
Downloading an ics from virgintrainseastcoast.com and importing through the gcal settings window works, however the same event/ics fails using this extension. Right click, select calendar, then the popup appears at the bottom of the screen stating "importing event into 'mycalendar'...", followed by the message "Cant create event."
  • (2018-01-16, v:0.5.1) not importing
I follow the steps and its not importing events to my calendar. It would be fantastic if it worked but its not
