• (2023-01-04) David Arnold: This extension started making life heck for me in the late fall. It manifested itself by causing my labels to disappear after login. I would see them for a few seconds (after login and after reload), then they'd "blink out", leaving an empty column where my labels should be. I'd uninstalled & reinstalled Chrome a couple of times, including manually removing cached files in a few different places on disc, but the behavior persisted. Finally I removed ALL of my extensions, and started re-adding them, luckily wiht this one first. Once it was installed, the behavior returned immediately, so BINGO. DON'T install this if you like seeing your labels!!

I can no longer add sub-labels or do much with labels, as I can't resize the column to get to the 3 dots for the options. • (2020-10-23) Ilias Balasis: This has been good enough for me. To be honest it is the only solution that has actually worked. However, it seems that every time Google is making changes to GMail UI the resizer breaks. It happened again just today, the resized slider is now gone and I rely so much on it as I am classifying my work using a deep tree of "labels".

• (2020-07-13) Sharon Webb: The extension only allowed the Labels column to expand instead of making it more narrow, and does not resize any of the other columns. After awhile, it stopped working altogether.

• (2020-01-13) Guillaume NGUYEN: This extension doesn't work anymore. You can grab the resising bar but it doesn't change the interface. I currently use the extension "VetTools New Gmail Resizer" that work fine with the current Gmail Interface for this functionality. Hope this help.

This add-on not only didn't do what I expected, but seriously interfered with functionality. Worse than useless. Had to disable.

I really hate that Gmail vertical split columns are too wide and not responsive to screen size, and I thought at last I had found a fix. I'm on a Macbook laptop, so maybe it only works for Windows?

Yeah, it's a little quirky, and has to be resized occasionally. BUT, this functionality should be native to gmail, and not even require an extension.

• (2017-12-07) Thank you for this very useful little tweak. It is unbelievable that Google still has not added this setting. Could you also create this tweak for google Inbox ? Labels are simply useless because unreadable.It is the only reason why i do not use Inbox. Tx again.
