Pinput is a lightweight chrome extension for Pinboard.
A Pinboard API token is required, so you need to set it at the options page.
A Pinboard API token is available for all Pinboard users without any special configuration.

- (2019-04-03) Menace NinetySeven: This is one of the best Pinboard extensions I could find. As much as I like having the Add Bookmark button in the top right for convenience, out of habit, I too often go to the bottom colored area at the bottom (as dialog boxes have the OK or cancel at the bottom). I think what throws me off is the bottom colored area looks like a button, and reads "Add to Pinboard..." to which I click, and realize it's the 'real' button at the top right that reads "Add bookmark." It's nice that I'm able to just hit enter to avoid the confusion though. Overall very good.

- (2016-07-30) Doug Leigh: I prefer this extension over the one by Sam Clark, but since the most recent update it's not working. Before the update I had changed my API token; now, even though I've changed the Token in Pinput it doesn't work. Hope this comment helps the dev troubleshoot. UPDATE July 30, 2016: Now whenever I attempt to bookmark I get "SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0" ... completely unusable.
- (2016-04-17) Steve Smith: Functional, but why set the default key combo to Ctrl-B? Every time I try to make text bold in an editor, the popup appears. At least make it editable in the options...

Congratulations on producing what I believe to be the best Pinboard extension available. However IMHO one element of the user experience could be improved. When entering a tag the automated search is finding the search term in any partial of the tag and not just from the first letter forward. This can be problematic considering the UI can only display four tag suggestions at any one time. e.g. I have multiple tags with the term tech (including 'tech' itself) - connected_tech, embedded_tech, music_tech, persuasive_tech etc, but the tag suggestions shows all the partial matches first. I believe it would be better if the UX followed the Pinboard model and present tag suggestions back based on first letter forward search criteria as partial match causes confusion. At the very least it should be user configurable. Other than that the extension is a near perfect partner to Pinboard.in within Chrome.
