Not only the awesome subtitle options (where I can add the simplified Chinese characters PLUS Pinyin PLUS English transaltion), which are the tip of the iceberg, but being able to click on individual words and mark them as "learning" or "known" (as well as having an explanation of how that word is working within that sentence) and then being able practise them by listening to other example sentences with those words throught the PhrasePump is so far the best learning method that I have found for me! Thank you so much to the creators of this extension!

• (2025-07-13) The translation feature on YouTube works inconsistently, in most cases, it simply doesn't work. And this is in the paid version.
• (2025-07-12) For Vietnamese to English translations, it's pretty good overall, but the pronouns are often incorrect. Vietnamese has over 10 ways of saying I and you depending on the gender, context, age difference, etc. so it's a challenge for machine translation.
• (2025-07-12) I think the functionality of the site is incredible, I just feel like there should be some kind of user input for translations as well. I think I would use it for practice, and it would allow people who recognize some words to be able to translate them in. For example, sometimes you might be able to understand a language well enough to at least be able to type the sounds in from what you hear, and I think the auto translate option should end up being useful from there. I think this would be great especially for the shows with few subtitles.

• (2025-06-12) I'm a premium user, and I've always used this extension to learn English. I love this extension, but it doesn't work on YouTube anymore. Without YouTube support, this extension becomes unusable in my opinion. I hope it can be fixed soon. If this is fixed, I will change my review. Update (Jun 12, 2025): I found a way to use Language Reactor. The issue was related to recent changes YouTube made to block ad blockers, which also affected Language Reactor. I decided to try the Brave browser to solve the ad blocker problem, and out of curiosity, I tested Language Reactor there. As I suspected, the extension started working. So, I ended up solving two problems at once—maybe this can help you too.
• (2025-06-11) This is a great extension and a fantastic tool for assisting with language learning. Currently it is not working on youtube. I'm still giving 5 stars because the devs have acknowledged that a change with youtube has broken the extension and are working to fix it.

• (2025-05-13) There is one option we have been asking for so long. We request that you add an automatic repeat option for each subititle. Lets there is an important sentence that I don't understand the Language Reactor should repeat it for as long as I fully understand the sentence while I am taking notes so I dont have to press button for current subtitle each and every time. We have been patient and did not leave so far so please add this option as urgent. It critically needed.

It would be great if I could loop the current subtitle until I decide to move to the next one. This would really help when I'm trying to take notes or fully understand each line without having to manually rewind. Hope you can consider adding this—thanks for building such a fantastic extension!
• (2025-04-23) I really love using Language Reactor—it's one of the best tools out there for learning languages with YouTube! One feature I’d love to see added is a repeat button. When this is turned on, it should automatically repeat the current subtitle until I manually click "next" or turn the repeat off. This would be incredibly helpful when I’m taking notes or trying to understand tricky phrases. It would save time and help with more focused learning. Thanks for the great work so far!

• (2025-04-21) It's great to use this extension to learn english with Netflix, but I prefer to download Netlfix subtitles with StreamUlt Netflix VIdeo Downloader to learn. This way, I have more control over the netflix subtitles.
