• (2020-04-14) X W: When trying to give the extension permission to run on Twitter it gives a 404 at https://botcheck3-dot-surfsafe-rbl.appspot.com/users/extension/login
• (2020-04-07) Krista Errickson: doesn't work. 404 error. checked the extension 3 times. Restarted browser, checked again. Nope.
• (2020-03-19) Shanjaq Astraljam: doesn't work at all. botcheck.me website is down "can't provide a secure connection". tried on Chrome and Brave. no new controls appear on Twitter, and there are absolutely zero instructions.
• (2019-10-11) Jak Crow: Plugin has stopped being reliable in finding bots on Twitter when other both checkers are saying the same accounts are bots or spam accounts, and botcheck.me's website is now being tagged as a security risk. I am going to use another option from now on.
• (2019-10-11) Greg Lauver: Seems to work; but the current icon placement obstructs a Twitter control in Chrome browser on a PC running Win10.
• (2019-04-12) Calvin Graves: Have had this extension for a while, and it worked for some time, but it seems to have completely stopped working. It's just "scanning" indefinitely. Clicking on the extension does nothing, nor adjusting any setting in Chrome's extension manager. It also does not have functionality on the Tweetdeck, which is how I browse Twitter. Basically this extension does nothing.
• (2019-03-01) Bruce H: Used to love it but it no longer works. This is caused by the new Twitter format. It still works in Twitter legacy mode. Needs to be fixed soon before they switch everyone to the new Twitter format.
• (2019-02-21) It used to work well, designating the bot-or-not inline with the account.I found it generally pretty accurate, and often caught obvious fake accounts within a few days. It no longer works. There is no icon, no rating, no mouse over, nothing. It just sits there in my extension tray. Great when it worked, it no longer does.
• (2019-02-11) Maxine Burgess: It misses more bots than it catches. Either they have figured out how to get around this app's algorithm, or the developers have made it less sensitive. I only use it to "train" it because when it doesn't flag a suspected bot, I have to go to the bot's page to double check, and then disagree with the app's determination. It misses accounts with a combination of common names and numbers all of the time and new accounts with small numbers of followers but 1000s of tweets. It used to be better.
• (2018-11-11) Janet Beatrice: All of a sudden, it doesn't work. I used to be able to go to a website and check the status. Today it made me download the app or it wouldn't work. So I downloaded the app and it still doesn't work. If I click on the app button, it directs me to the non-working website. It used to work fine, although over the past year or so, people on Twitter have reported that it called them bots when they were not bots (and after checking their profiles, I believe they were telling the truth).
• (2018-10-29) korbelrenokia: I've used Bothcheck.me for over a year and it really helps me to stop responding to useless bots, when I can annoy real people.
• (2018-10-29) Ken Odeluga: one moderately complaint about the latest update. The extension appears to use more CPU since the update. Namely, also don't like the idea of it running continually in the background rather than as before when it had to be actively invoked. I know that it runs more in the background now because on certain Twitter views the icon on any given profile already declares that the profile is not a bot, even if a botcheck scan has not been undertaken. In the past, a check had to be actively requested.
• (2018-10-28) Mathew Valente: I downloaded this plugin to detect people who are obvious bots. The people who obviously are, are not being flagged. The people who obviously are not bots, are being flagged as bots. It's as if this app's been compromised. Uninstalling.
• (2018-10-24) Drunken Impotent Wizard: Waste at this point completely unreliable to find harmful bots. It cant even determine a known bot that has a legit function. Cant determine an NPC bot even. Useless waste of time if I cant trust it at all. Went to a known harmful bot that even has harmful malicious code in its pics. Still cant tell.
• (2018-10-10) gerald zuckier: Can't get it to work (Chrome on chromebook). It asks to be authorized and the tab opens up and I authorize it and it says OK and then You've been logged in - close this window and try making a request! and then it's back to Twitter and start all over again.

• (2018-08-18) Avery Milieu: IT STOPPED WORKING on a lot of accounts... Doesn't come up for some folks. This makes it useless.
• (2018-06-22) Sally Forth: I actually love this app but had to take away a star for this reason: When reading a thread in a pop-up, I click on Botcheck.me and the information window is underneath the Twitter pop-up. In order to dismiss Botcheck.me, I have to dismiss the entire thread which is a real pain when the thread is long. I have learned to recognize the difference on the right side so I can tell if who I'm checking is a bot without hitting the 'Dismissal' button. And, I can check as many other accounts as I want and the Botcheck.me windows layer on top of each other. But, then when I dismiss the thread and want to look at the page I'm on, Botcheck.me's "Dismissal" button doesn't work and reloading the page doesn't make Botcheck.me go away. The only thing I can do is close the page! In my experience with Botcheck.me, it seems to be right about an account most of the time! I really appreciate that!
• (2018-06-21) Michael Fennelly: The false positive rate makes this untrustworthy - this is a fantastic concept, but the response to reporting a false positive is "We don't make mistakes" which is incredibly arrogant and even more foolish.
• (2018-05-28) Jenna MacWhirter: I've gotten pretty good at identifying the bots and propagandists on Twitter, so I thought I'd give this a whirl and just see whether we line up in our assessments. So far so good! It even accurately assesses the ones that look like bots or propagandists at first, but turn out to just be people drinking their Kool-Aid. This is so far the most accurate and easy-to-use tool I've found for this. Will save me a lot of scrolling in the future!
• (2018-03-29) Neil J: Update I've been using the Botcheck for a few days. It is discouraging to find that some tweets I thought for sure were from anti-democratic bots were from actual people. Regardless, I love having a bot checker. I read a few reviews. My dream-change for the button: Eliminate it. Simply do a botcheck on everything. Then put "crawling ants" around any bot tweets. No button required. And it would be graphical, impressive in case of lots of bots. Or an option to gray out all of the bots, so you have to look closely if you really want to see what a bot has to say. *** Problem I'm having is that when I click on the reply to a tweet, a pop-up opens displaying that reply followed by all of the "second-level replies." If I click Botcheck on one of those 2nd-level replies, the botcheck pop-up is buried beneath the Twitter pop-up, and hidden from view. You know what I mean? The Botcheck.me pop-up should always pop up on top. That's on an Acer 13" CB5-312T. Putin's not going to be happy about this extension. Recommend getting a Geiger counter so you can check your food for Polonium. Hope your working on an Android app, too. In the meantime, I'll be skewing my Twitter-time to my Chromebook, just to take advantage of Botcheck.me.

• (2018-02-19) Debra Morgan Pardee: This is a great tool! Started using it Friday and found about 30 different "bots" in re-tweeted posts of a handful of accounts. Only one "bot" was offended after I posted a screen shot in a reply to his post of the Botcheck.me screen showing his "bot like" behavior. Could he have been a troll with multiple bot accounts?
• (2018-02-10) Dan Potter: Does what it says with a couple issues. If you are reading a thread the notification appears in the background causing you to close the thread in order to read it. Instead of requiring the button why not just auto label the accounts?
• (2017-11-22) Ambre Ying: I suspect they use a random number generator because it will tell me I'm a bot some days, not other days- and today said I was not a bot about 10 seconds after saying I was a bot. I can't figure out how this is a useful tool at all. (note: I don't use *any* third party programs or automate anything, but I do tweet a lot)
• (2017-11-14) John McCabe: A few quality of life improvements I'd recommend: * Placement of the button doesn't seem to be consistent * If I'm looking at one comment on a tweet, the button doesn't show up on that comment. I feel it should, since it may not be easy to go in loops around that comment to get to a point where you can get that button on that account. * It's either this extension or the fact I have at least 10 tabs open but Twitter is loading really slow now. I have a feeling it's this extension making the problem worse, so any kind of streamlining of the process would be appreciated. Other than that, this app is great.
• (2017-11-14) Janet Blake: The dismiss button doesn't work on mac, so when you use this extension, you have an overlay cover everything with no way to recover.
