Choose to save or discard Jira description changes when you hit ESC rather than dismissing them.
End your ESC-related JIRA trauma with this extension. It will bring up a popup asking whether to dismiss or submit changes whenever you hit ESC while editing the description. Tested with JIRA v7.2.8.
You will need to whitelist the URL match pattern of your JIRA in the extension options. To do so:
1) Go to chrome://extensions
2) Look for "JIRA Anti-Escape" and click "Options"
3) On the options page, you will see an input with comma-separated list of match patterns, e.g. "*://jira.atlassian.com/*,*://sapjira.somedomain.corp/*";
4) Add a pattern matching your JIRA host and hit "Save"
To test if this works:
1) Open a new Chrome tab with your JIRA
2) Start editing the description of a JIRA item
3) Hit ESC. You should now see a popup as shown in the screenshot.
Please note that if you hit ESC twice, the second key press will dismiss the popup dialog and still discard your changes. This is intentional.
