Description from store GradeTransferer saves time for teachers by seamlessly gathering data, auto-sorting it, scaling it, and transferring it into the appropriate student grade fields in a grade book with the mere click of a button; eliminating typos all the while saving time! It currently works with nearly 40 different educational platforms and gradebooks. ***GradeTransferer comes with a 7-day free trial, after which it requires a subscription (purchase one for your account, or get one for a friend, colleague, or even an entire school/district at https://gradetransferer.com/school-and-district-plans).*** One would think grades entered into Google Classroom would be easily transferable into the school district supported grade book, however they are not. This leaves educators with a time-consuming matching exercise for every student, assignment, comment, and update that was assigned and graded on one site, but then still needs to be inputted into the ‘real’ grade book (Genesis, Infinite Campus, Aspen, PowerTeacherPro, etc.). Our software service addresses the issue, thereby freeing up time so educators can focus more on their students and creating engaging lessons instead of endlessly scrolling through their class roster hunting for names of where to input grades. This chrome-extension can make a significant difference in an educator’s life and workload. No training or professional development is needed for its use, and it works on any type of machine that can run a Chrome browser and has Internet access, even Chromebooks! Helpful video tutorials are available through the app to get even the most technologically challenged up and running in mere minutes. USE-OF-DATA DISCLOSURE: We are unique and pride ourselves in the fact that GradeTransferer does NOT store, collect, ship, share, sell or otherwise transmit any student data at all for its own purpose or that of any third party. Student data never leaves the user’s (teacher’s) computer. It is not sent to our servers, and we never even see the data that is being transferred. GradeTransferer was designed around this critical student data security constraint to ensure ease-of-adaptation by districts. To transfer data between your pages, GradeTransferer stores the data encrypted locally on your computer within your Chrome browser logged-in under your account. The data is erased and replaced with every new transfer. GradeTransferer collects and transmits (via modern cryptography over a secure connection) for its own use the following personally identifiable data of the user (ie: teacher) during use: – name, username, and email (used to authenticate the account) – # of grades successfully transferred (for app development & statistics) – website url where GradeTransferer is being used (to detect which gradebook you use) NOTE: While GradeTransferer works with a multitude of platforms and configurations, districts sometimes add their own unique twists and variables, which GradeTransferer then doesn’t recognize and therefore won't work. In this case, please reach out to us at “[email protected]" so we can make some minor adjustments and make it work for you! PRIVACY: GradeTransferer does not store, collect, share, sell or otherwise transmit any student data at all for its own purpose or that of any third party. For app development purposes and better metrics of user interaction with GradeTransferer, the extension utilizes the Google Analytics API as well as custom scripts to gather and store the number of button clicks within the app interface, the URL (necessary to detect the grading platform used), the number of grades successfully transferred, and the name, username, and email of the user (used to authenticate the user) as well as browser generated error messages during its use that impede the proper functioning of GradeTransferer. Error messages do not contain student-data. All data is transmitted via modern cryptography over a secure connection. This data helps improve user experience, marketing, and guides updates for future versions. The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. For its functionality, the app temporarily stores data locally (in the user's Chrome browser, signed in under their account) until the user clears the data either by clicking "Fill Data" (with the 'Hold Data' toggle unselected) or the 'Trash' icon. When clicking the 'clipboard icon' in lieu of the 'Grab Data' button, GradeTransferer will use the computer's "clipboard" as the source for data rather than the currently open tab. DISCLAIMER: While GradeTransferer is designed to grab and transfer data as accurately as possible, ensuring the validity of entered grades solely continues to be the responsibility of the user (ie: teacher); GradeTransferer is merely a service to help expedite the process. Changes in the platforms it utilizes (ie: GClassroom, Aleks, Schoology, etc.) as well as variations in student data may cause unexpected results. GradeTransferer shows alerts of the grabbed data as well as the filled data so users can check the data being transferred and make corrections/discontinue its use and submit a software bug report to get issues resolved if necessary.   • (2021-12-22) Melissa Plotts: This is an INCREDIBLE extension, and I honestly don't feel like I can live without it now. I have used this thousands of times, and I can't even begin to calculate how much TIME IT'S SAVED ME, not just in adding in the grades, but also in preventing the human error I sometimes make when entering the grades myself. I use it to pull grades that I've imported from Google Classroom and enter them into Genesis, our district grading program. I can not say enough about the usefulness of GradeTransferer. It's one of those things that once you know about it and use it, you can never imagine going back. There have a been a few times I've had to live without it, sadly - once when Google was updating something and an update needed to happen for the extension to continue to be compatible with it, and again when our district didn't (yet) renew its subscription. Both times David has been AMAZING in exchanging emails with me. I'm just a teacher, not an admin, or even a tech point person in our district. Nonetheless, he is responsive, friendly, professional, and helpful in explaining some ins and outs of the tech stuff in the most helpful and respectful way. I am such a big fan of this extension (and its creator!), that I ran a workshop for a district in-service on how to use it and made a brief how-to video to send out to a few colleagues during remote learning.

All of the extra time saved from not having to manually move grades from GC to IC and whatever magic the developers did for it to be so EASY to transfer them make this worth the cost! Highly highly recommend this extension for all teachers that want to save time doing silly tasks like transferring already graded scores between various platforms.

  • (2021-09-27) Charlie Xavier: If I could leave a negative review because that's what they did to my bank account. A week ago I received an email saying I was due to renew. I no longer use this service as my school switched to schoology, so all my grades are in one place. I emailed 3 different email addresses and reached out on Facebook as there is no clear way to cancel the service. I got no response even though I contacted multiple times. Today my old bank card was charged causing me an overdraft and still no way to cancel this service. Absolutely disgusting that there is no clear way to end or cancel a renewal. I clicked the link they emailed to click and nothing. Thanks for a service I don't need and a $40 overdraft, the gift that just keeps on giving.

I can transfer 120 grades from sheets (and google classroom and big ideas and a bunch of other places) into PowerSchool in legit 2 seconds. I also needed help once (bc I was being stupid) and they saw what I was doing wrong and fixed me up right away. Great tech support if you need it!

It does take some adjustment to get it to work with each different schools setup but the developer personally responded to our issues after an email and quick solutions were made. This is a great tool for pulling grades from classroom into our grading software (Powerschool).

Also, when students have slightly different names in GC and Aspen, it doesn't tend to transfer those grades, though now I've used it enough that I know which kids to input.

Well this year we went to a new Learning Management System and it was automatically transferring grades to IC. Yeah well, it was not nearly as reliable as this extension! So I'm back to using it and it never fails!
  • (2020-12-08) Neil Lindstrom: This Extension used to be the best with seamless transfer from Google Classroom to PowerSchool. I never used to have to worry about accuracy and completely trusted it. Ever since it went to a subscription model it has stopped being accurate. It tries to transfer too quickly and often enteres multiple marks under the same student causeing it to error out as it tries to move to the next student. The accuracy is horrible and it's become a waste of time as I have to correct the majority of the entries. Too bad, it used to be amazing!

Here's the thing, my school now has SIS Export BUT if there is any reason why your gradebook and classroom roster do not match, the SIS will fail you. I have separated my classes into hybrid a, b, and remote, and GradeTransferer will place each grade in the correct spot in my online gradebook anyway. This is such a time saver!
