Tabs Timer allows users to configure a countdown timer after which tabs are automatically closed.
Features:
- configurable timer
- options page
- configurable number of permanent tabs (these are right-most or left-most tabs which are not subject to the timer)
- enable/disable button in toolbar - the extension can be enabled/disabled per Chrome window
- transition between permanent and non-permanent tabs (by moving the to/out of a permanent location by either closing tabs, opening new tabs or reshuffling existing tabs)
- timer displayed in tab title
Caveats:
- timer is not shown for tabs whose title is "New Tab"
- configuration options are global and they apply to all windows where the extension is enabled
- timer value si shared by all tabs, but the timer for each individual tabs starts whenever the tab is created

I'd love if this worked very differently. A popup shows with a bunch of presets (that I can set) and click on it where it activates for active/highlighted tabs
The tab timers works fine, but I end up with three tabs when done countdown. No directions on how to modify to drop it down to one tab when the counters are done. If I only want one tab open and not counting down to close, I'm not getting it. Will check back to see if this can be or will be fixed.
This is exactly what I needed!! I can google stuff in separate tab and after I'm done the tab disappears automatically..
