Markdown to JIRA

Description from extension meta

Converts Markdown to JIRA wiki syntax

Image from store Markdown to JIRA
Description from store Markdown to JIRA is just a tiny wrapper around j2m http://j2m.fokkezb.nl/, a javascript library that converts Markdown to JIRA markup (and the other way around) that does all the work. It's inspired by the much more powerful Markdown Here http://markdown-here.com/ extension, that converts Markdown to HTML (I use it for Gmail). This extension adds an entry to your right-click menu, called JIRA Formatting that expands further in 2 entries: - MD to JIRA - JIRA to MD When you right click on an issue page on JIRA, and select one of the 2 functionalities, the extension will replace the content with the equivalent markup. The addon has been tested on the following domains, but you can specify where to enable it via its options: - *.jboss.org - *.apache.org - *.jira.com - *.atlassian.com - *.atlassian.net

  • (2017-06-28) Would be even more useful if it supports: - Blockquotes (converting > to {quote}) - Inline images (converting ![desc](url) to !url!) Also if: - Support for keyboard shortcuts - Inject a button into Jira editors for conversion

  • (2018-09-20, v:0.0.8) Still up and running?
I was wondering if this tool is up and running, my research team could really use this for our big confluence upgrade.
  • (2018-04-21, v:0.0.8) Roman: Doesn't support quites
While it should be trivial to convert > to {quote}, looking forward for an update!

A hotkey toggle for this would be great!
  • (2017-07-13, v:0.0.8) Jon Wong: Server-side processing? Or local?
I'm concerned about whether my JIRA messages need to be sent to a 3rd-party server for server-side processing. I'm guessing this is purely local, right?
  • (2017-04-21, v:0.0.8) Bill Barrett: Non-functional - Is it me?
    - Atlassian JIRA, Edit mode - Paste 'good' MD text - Right-click, select: 'Markdown to JIRA' -> 'MD to JIRA' - Nothing happens?? - Extension is enabled in Chrome. - MD is good per Atlassian Stash and Eclipse and others. What am I missing or doing wrong??? Thanks for your efforts!
  • (2017-03-01, v:0.0.7) Quoteblocks are not detected
