  • (2023-07-19) NormalPerson: The timer worked well and i liked the settings. My gripes is that, after setting the settings you can't change it, and that the overides don't work
  • (2023-06-25) William Cutler: It's a good idea but MAN the override system fails so often, it's incredibly annoying. When I click "Override" I want to actually be able to watch my video. Instead, it keeps telling me my time is up. Even though I have 500 overrides left.
  • (2023-03-03) Godwill Valenzuela: I need this for the other sites!! (quora, facebook, tiktok ect..)
  • (2023-02-14) Mark: Perfect! lets you block Youtube on certain days, or time limit it. And lets you override it when you need it for something purposeful (but you have to be honest with yourself if you want to use that option). A gentle reminder that I don't want to spend time on Youtube on certain days, except for listening to music. Exactly what I needed!
  • (2023-01-23) Steven “with a V for Victory” Kramer, PharmD: I don't mind watching one or two 10-minute video for fun on YouTube, but the issue for me is when I spend hours watching YouTube shorts. Having this pop up with a reminder message every time I moved to the next short helps me stop sooner. If anyone finds one of these just for YouTube shorts, please let me know! Thanks!
  • (2022-11-30) Peter Stearn: good
  • (2022-11-19) Mohisha Singh: this is such a good extension for helping you not procrastinate, its amazing!
  • (2022-06-19) Huy: Awsome extension
  • (2022-05-17) jan: I like the extension, it works well in general. However, the override function does not work in playlists including "watch later". After clicking overwrite, you get blocked again immediately. Sometimes takes over other tabs when youtube is blocked.
  • (2022-03-02) Toki Susu: I love the concept of a youtube timer and I think your extension is made very well. However, I've noticed that even when I'm not using youtube it still takes time off; even after I start. I've also noticed that sometimes when I'm in a different tab and the timer is done, that it tells me it's done in the tab that isn't Youtube.
  • (2022-01-23) Urban Beaver: Would it be ok if you could add a generic timer to count how many hours, minutes, seconds you visit and browsing Youtube content in a day? For example a timer that says "Today up until now you spent "hours, minutes, seconds" on Youtube. And maybe have like a log of previous times up to say like three days before. Thank you
  • (2021-09-25) Remo Auväärt: Works great, but i wish there was a way to set a certain time frame, after which the limit will turn back on. I often find myself not using up all the time after the reset point so it gets left over for the next day, which i don't want.
  • (2021-08-21) Scott Franz: The override function rarely, if ever works. Standard function works well enough.
  • (2021-08-12) Ian Geraldi Cordeiro: When I pause youtube the timer doesn´t pause. If this is fixed I´ll change it to a 5.
  • (2021-08-11) Samay Chandak: Thank You Man for this!! It is really easy to use and effective!! Thanks Again!!
  • (2021-08-04) shreyas datla: awesome in almost every way it works well and all but can you allow the time to be changed more easily because when i have free time i watch some youtube but theres less time left from watching school videos
  • (2021-04-28) Bunsen The Burner: Thank you sooo much!
  • (2021-04-24) iii: It works. Most of the time, the override feature does not work well at all with playlists. Often times you override and it blocks you out again, making you override all over again until you have zero override attempts left and you still don't get to see the video. You could also extend the timer by changing the amount of allotted time per day, and re-entering the value for override attempts give you back your original amount regardless if you ran out or not. Just some ways I've found that bypasses the timer. If the extension could track the time spent on Youtube overall (+ # of override attempts), that'd be cool.
  • (2021-04-18) Hendrik Nigul: Good extension. There is an unintended feature (aka bug) on my chrome. It is possible to watch videos and bypass timer. 1. Open youtube.com → timer starts 2. Cmd+F (start finding, but do not close the dialog) 3. Switch to other tab → timer ends 4. Open previous tab again. Expected: timer starts Actual: Find dialog gets focus and timer is not starting.
  • (2021-04-08) Damian Profijt: It helps with watching less youtube, but the override functions isn't always working for me. Sometimes If i press the butten the site reloads and just shows again that my time is up. Which is very anoying if you want to finish the video you were watching...
  • (2021-03-27) Mohammed Shaikh: I like this extension but the only problem I have is that you can't keep YouTube on at specific times of the day. This would be really helpful because at the start of the day I need to keep YouTube of, but at the end of the I am free. It would be great if you added this feature.
  • (2021-01-27) yudhi kristianto: niceeee
  • (2020-12-21) Bonnie Schomp: Thank you so much for developing this extension. I use it for my kids and of course they figured out how to override it within a minute. Can you add a passcode? If it had that it would be perfect :)
  • (2020-09-19) Elbert T: Great extension!
  • (2020-09-12) Roey Gadot: It does what it's supposed to. but what I hoped to find inside when downloaded was the option to limit a youtube session and force you to take a break for a set time. Will be glad if this could be implemented
  • (2020-08-15) c james: It is a great app, but for the when the time reset every day I can't tell if it is pm or am. Over all it was great.
  • (2020-08-13) SuchtyTV Niclas: Does it work on multiple devices using the same chrome account?
  • (2020-08-04) Joachim: Alright, so the app is great and I use it all the time but the reason I gave 4/5 is that unlike on Apple's Screen Time setting for instance, you don't have an option to customize the time spent each day and I would really need it here as I want to have it set to 1h per day except sunday which is my free of work day and I would like to spend as much time on youtube as I want on sunday so please add that.
  • (2020-07-02) tuwuna: exactly what I need :D
  • (2020-04-12) Andrea Simeone: Hey Chris, Great tool, thx. I use it to try to limit the time spent by my kid on youtube, but the override button is so evident that this extension becomes almost useless for my specific case. I've cloned your repository and added the code to add a max overrides counter per day, so that my kid will have 1 override just to finish to see his last video (but it can be changed in the options). If you allow me as a contributor I can create a branch and make a pull request for you
  • (2020-01-06) Alexander Teodorescu Romanati: Really good. Already feel like I can keep my new years resolution of not watching as much youtube pr. day! Asking for a friend. There may be a demand on a similar extension for Twitch.com
  • (2019-12-20) Walker Chow: Good extension. Does what it sets out to do. The override button is helpful for needing to watch videos while researching but prevents you from going down the recommendation rabbit hole as it resets with any page load. However, it would be great if there was a way for the counter to stop counting down if Chrome is no longer in focus. There have been multiple times where I would just leave a YouTube tab open and use another program for a few hours and use up all my "YouTube Time".
  • (2019-11-16) learn to9: perfect guys thank you creator
  • (2019-05-21) Daniel Gordon: Great content and good idea
  • (2018-08-18) Tomáš Martykán: Exactly what I was looking for! No more wasting time on YouTube now
  • (2018-04-14) Emily Smith: Very effective when I'm supposed to be getting work done! however, i wish there was a "snooze" button or an option to override the blocker for 5-10 more min. It just gets annoying having to press the override button so many times after the time limit runs out.
  • (2018-04-01) Sarah Smith: Helps me not procrastinate!
