Informed browsing for peace in Palestine.
Maspik (Hebrew for 'enough') is a simple Chrome extension to help you decide whether you wish to support Israeli businesses in the light of the ongoing occupation of Palestine. Our initial motivation was the realisation that articles on the situation in Israel/Palestine would invariably be followed by some links generating revenue for one side in that conflict. Online news sources which should have been impartial sources of information were in fact raising money to continue funding the occupation. We found this very distasteful and felt compelled to inform the wider world of the consequences of their clicks. Maspik puts the power to decide what is right or wrong back in your hands. We don't block any content, just hightlight Israeli content and companies so you can make an informed choice. Please note that at the moment our coverage is very limited, though we hope to expand this. Please install this, and see the news in a new light.
- (2019-12-26) Ric Brown: I give this extension two stars instead of one, because I like its stated purpose. However, I find it to be pretty useless. When I click the icon in the toolbar and select "options", there are no options to select. It just gives some information on a couple of entities that it targets. When I click the icon and select "Maspik", it simply takes me to the Google extensions store. I'm sure that there MUST be more to it, but there are no instructions on how to get to any actual content, and it is anything but intuitive. What does it actually DO, and how do I make it do what it's supposed to do? As it is, it is useless and will be deleted.
