Delayed Gratification
Description from store

Every time you tab into a time-eating website, Delayed Gratification gives you 15 seconds to make sure you actually wanted to do that. Because, let's face it, it's mostly just muscle memory at this point.

Click on the hourglass icon in your browser to add "bad websites" and update your time settings.

NOTE: Delayed Gratification is currently in beta. Please contact [email protected] with any bugs or suggestions.

solid you can put www.x.com to make it only block x.com instead of anything that ends in X

Love it Has some downsides, which are highlighted in other reviews, but all in all: very simple, very clean and most importantly - very effective

Nice and simple app, but the "x.com" filter, also filter other web pages that end in ....x.com, like max.com or netflix.com

Please fix the issue where blocking x.com makes every single site that has an "x" in the url also get delayed, sometimes random youtube links, tutorials/recipes from search results etc. Overall one of my main problems with this extension. The function in itself is awesome other than that

page back button does not work, when timer appears, i have to wait to come back to the not bad site from i was redirected

Great for it's simplicity, additional features and functions could make it 5 stars. Some ideas: Allow you to customize delay and time between option, don't see any technical reason for the options given. Allow you to customize blocking time. Users may not always want it active, you may just want it active during work hours for example. Add additional options for unlocking a website besides delay, for example you have to enter a set of characters or a block of text.

Really useful and effecitive for me. Personally it works better than those plugins that just direclty blocks the site. Give me some time to reflect and feel like I'm in control here.

good extension , its such a good boi , does what it promises , doing what it promises is the best we can do sometimes , it overdelivers by doing exactly what it says.

This is literally the only blocksite I've seen so far that doesn't block an entire domain. I.e. you can block a subreddit without blocking all of reddit.com. This is EXTREMELY important because there are times I need to look stuff up for work, but then there are times I endlessly check news on r/technology. Most extensions can't differentiate between the two!

Great idea, well executed, does no more than it needs to. Perhaps a text entry to add a custom delay would be a useful addition.

The concept is great, but the options for lock-out time are limited to 10 seconds, 20 seconds, or 30 seconds. That's too low for me, which makes the extension practically useless. I really wish they provided longer options, like 1min, 5min, 10min, or that they would let you set your own time. If they can incorporate that, then the extension would be fantastic!

it's very good but there's a huge problem , which is if you exit the tab the countdown still continues and after 30 seconds it opens , so i could like switch to another page till 30s and hop back on to that page, so i think it would be helpful if countdown only happens when you are active in the page.

By far the best website blocker I have come across. Simple, effective, and minimalist. I like the funny messages that you display when attempting to look at a disabled website. Definitely lives up to it's name of being "A quick and easy cure for Endless Scrolling Syndrome."

Thank you, this is a wonderful extension for websites that are essential but can also be time wasters (Discord and Google in my case). It doesn't block it entirely in case you have to use it for work, but it pushes you in the right direction if you are just wasting time.

hyper tasker
I love this extension really good for keeping your attention focused on your intention! Please see if you can increase the waiting time exponentially! (30sec to 3mins or 5mins) The developers on this did a great a job in the aspect of ease of use, thank you dev's!

Very nice, I would have a few suggestions: - add option to let timer pass only if the blocked tab is focused. Otherwise one can do something else while waiting - add option to disable at specific times of specific week days

Great app, light and simple. An improvement that could be made: deactivate web pages according to time slots. For example, do not block pages between noon and 2 p.m. or after 6 p.m. Anyway, nice job! Excellente application, légère et simple. Une amélioration qui pourrait être apportée : désactiver les pages web suivant des plages horaires. Par exemple, ne pas bloquer les pages entre midi et 14 heures ou après 18h. En tout cas, beau travail !

Worked like a charm in the beginning. Now, it doesn't block the site right away, only if I go to a new page and then return to the one I want to block, which defeats the purpose. I can open a blocked website and use it at will.

Very good, but very basic. Specifically what I would like is the ability for this extension to kick in only at certain times- like when I'm meant to be working. But when it's the weekend I'd rather not have to wait to get my gratification!

This is exactly what I needed. Question: Is there anything similar that delays the opening of apps on android phones?
