Location Guard
Hide your geographic location from websites.
Modern browsers such as Google Chrome can tell websites where you're located in order to provide location-aware functionality. Your geographic location obtained via JavaScript is often highly accurate, which can be a violation of your privacy.
This extension allows enjoying geolocation applications while protecting your privacy, by reporting a fake location to websites, after adding a certain amount of "noise" to the real one. The noise is randomly selected in a way that protects the real location from being accurately inferred. There's also an option to use a fixed location, instead of adding noise to the real one.
IMPORTANT: Location Guard protects against JavaScript-based geolocation (which has very high accuracy), NOT IP-based geolocation (which typically has low accuracy). If a website detects your coarse location from your IP address, then use a VPN, Location Guard is not meant to solve this problem.

With Starlink, every time I search for a business I have to spend time forcing it to where I live and not 2 hours away. I did set my location GPS manually in Google, but it only works for 1-2 searchers and then Google forcibly changes it back. I am very appreciative to have fast internet living in the middle of the woods, but I loose hours of productivity daily. I tried a few and looked at many VPN's. They won't work either as they only allow me to choose major areas/cities. The closest is still an hour away resulting in the same loss of time. I have only tried Location Guard for 10 mins but so far it seems to be working. Why Google wont allow your real location to be known manually in these situations I will never know. Getting results in an area I don't live is very unhelpful. Thank to Location Guard.... Hopefully that's fixed.

Seems to be working fine. It obviously won't work with websites like Netflix that use your IP. But it works with websites that use your GPS.

Extension hasn't been updated in some form since March 2022. Update may also means it was updated by Google themselves for privacy reasons. It doesn't necessarily mean the developer undated the extension. Instructions for the extension are NOT clear even in the demo. Search feature is broken. I went to Google Maps, Bing Maps. Guess what...it showed my actual location. I selected FIXED LOCATION. I verified it was a weird location. Why is that? Because Google, Bing, and most every website uses your IP location to reveal your location. I haven't heard of any that doesn't. No extension is going to spoof your location UNLESS you use a VPN with location spoofing features. And direct from the developer: "If a website detects your coarse location from your IP address, then use a VPN, Location Guard is not meant to solve this problem." Anyway, I call BS on the positive reviews saying this extension works. This is typical of the reviews these days made by bots, sophists, and trolls.

This app is only supposed to help hide your location because of crazy people out there. But for many apps you have to have your location posted so I give this app 5 stars. its doing exactly what its supposed to do. I would only use if your a drop shipper or only sell online.
Had problems with google not showing my correct geolocation, despite my IP showing the correct information. Spent many hours on the phone with tech support, they couldn't figure it out. This app just saved me a bunch of headache. Set my actual location using the 'Fixed location' setting using this extension, and now all my location services are working perfectly. No longer am I getting search results from a different city in a different state.
Very good, ideal for web browsing if you don't know what link your going to as it can stop a robbery unfortunately not hacking :/ They should add a link scanner that shows you where your going.

Works great. It got some significant updates last year, it's not dead, and works fine right now. Has some thoughtful extra protections compared to a simple version. Also it's open source which makes it safer for folks to install. Just really nicely done all around.

Приложение не работает там, где опрос идёт по IP-адресу (на него все постепенно переходят). Установка Fixed Geo и с его отметкой в Options бесполезна для таких случаев. Проверено на tinder :) Раньше оно там работало, пока разработчики вебсайте не сменили определение локации по IP клиента. Такие дела.
При выборе Low, Medium или High увеличивает или понижает погрешность, но абсолютно игнорирует выставленную точку на карте. Удаление кеша не помогает. Протестировано в 2 браузерах.

Most websites use IP to determine your location, so unless you're using a VPN, this extension is mostly useless. I still give it 5 stars because it does work IF the website is using geolocation, otherwise website like Google still now your location based on your IP

Да, работает, если настроить, как писали ниже. Открыла google maps, сразу показало, что я якобы в Калгари, Канада. Выбрала там себе домик :D
