Change Geolocation (Location Guard) is a browser extension that let you easily change your geographic location to the desired value and protect your privacy.
Simply open the addon's options page and set the latitude and longitude for where you want the geolocation to be (the default location is Greenwich, UK). Next, reload a page and check your location (i.e. webbrowsertools.com/geolocation/). Please note that besides latitude and longitude you can set other variables in the geolocation API (see options page). Moreover, pressing on the toolbar icon will activate or deactivate the addon.
Note: toolbar button serves as an ON|OFF switch to activate and deactivate the addon. The green color is for ON and the grey color is for the OFF state.
To report bugs, please fill out the bug report form on the addon's homepage (https://mybrowseraddon.com/change-geolocation.html).

- (2025-07-12) Russell Young: I don't know about others, but it simply doesn't work for me. I loaded it up and made sure it was on (green), and expected to be in Greenwich, England - but I got the same default location I always do. I tried setting my physical location (as opposed to my IP location) and still get my ip location. I exited the browser and cleared cache and tried again, still get IP location. Maybe it works for some but not for me
- (2025-07-10) Gabriel Schroll: As a new user, I find it more complicated than the old Location Guard, which has been disabled by Google - but it does work. After finally figuring it out, I asked Google "where am I?" and it showed me my "fake" location. Then I went to a few sites that are affected by one's location, and they performed how I was hoping. To be clear, I'm using a fake U.S location. Just in a different state. And I'm not trying to use it for Netflix or any kind of streaming.
- (2025-03-25) Mark Smith: Works fine first time. Easy setup. No impossible hoops to jump through. I would like to see an array of possible locations that I can manage and then select later.
- (2025-03-14) Jwala Prasad: GOOD
- (2024-11-27) Arnold Moeketsi: Please note , this is not a VPN but a location emulator. IT WORKS 100% FINE.
- (2024-09-18) Escher Chran: It's very good work
- (2024-07-15) Dev Ratna Shakya: its not working.. added the desired lat long but still detecting the original location.
- (2024-05-27) Michael Judkins: This will not work for testing things that use IP address to check your location.
- (2024-04-04) Dash: Not sure why there are so many bad ratings. This one completely works for me. And I have verified it using multiple ways to detect your location. If you know what you're doing (hint: if your IP location is set with a broader region rather than with your local region), you will definitely figure this out. BRAVO, developer! I love that this is free. I really wanted to leave a review because the overall ratings do not match up with my own experience. It's good to know that others also have figured it out and left a good rating. To me this is an excellent product. This works well for my professional sports viewing habits.
- (2024-03-24) C B: This isn't the one you are looking for as the other one by the same name works great. Not this one, keep looking
- (2024-03-20) Antonio Gonzalez: its ok
- (2024-03-07) David Laštovička: Works perfectly.
- (2024-01-10) Andrew Brooks: This doesn't work. It only cosmetically changes the geotag, but not the "aggressive" and non spoofable tags. Country Code and Country Name. Per https://webbrowsertools.com/geolocation/ About page, "This page shows your geolocation data... six methods designed to extract geodata... The last two methods are "aggressive", meaning that, they can extract the real geodata even if you have a plugin to spoof your geolocation data... first four methods may conceive fake geolocation but the last two will not and always return the real geodata." This is totally worthless for anything other than fun, which, in that case, it would be a five star extension.

- (2023-03-21) Pat MySecret: The "gotta watch video" feels like mansplaining, so let me speed it up for you. Right-click icon and tap "what is my location" or options.. that should do ya. I think my extension could be doing more. Reviewer Steve Meet recommends Vyal for more.

- (2023-02-08) Tyler: Works great. Please add a dark mode for the options page. Pretty much the only extension I have left that still blinds me on setting it up. And yea option page is a bit bare bones ,a bit in search for figuring out the geolocation coordinates could be good, or at least a link where to find them.

- (2022-11-08) Steve Meet: RECOMMENDATION: Use the 'Vytal' extension instead. It can spoof geolocation, timezone, locale and user agent. Works much better then this one.

- (2022-09-26) Jeremiah Blanch: Doesn't work. Clicking it just takes me to an advertising page, There isn't even a dialog box saying "what location should we chagne to?"
