Switch page languages easily using this extension.

Image from store Advanced Page Language Switcher
Description from store A free browser language switching extension/plugin that's very simple to install and use, offers a very easy / intuitive way for adding and removing languages. Supports both bulk and single language deletion. Data is synchronized between Webextension's Storage and the native browser localStorage API (uses 'als-language' and 'als-languages' - for a JSON formatted object that shows the languages you've added for the selected group) as localstorage keys.

  • (2024-12-17) Yas CHEK: Works as expected. Forces the site language to what's selected. A good improvement would be to assign a language to a specific website, instead of having the language set globally.
  • (2024-07-09) Nathan Kitteh: Got it as figured it would translate what Google Translate fails to do at times. Couldn't get it to work at all and it spams me with a pop-up every time I try to highlight text to copy or try to type into a search bar. Tried to block the pop-up website in Chrome but for SOME REASON, they've removed the feature to block websites entirely. Uninstalled this exntension, still get the pop-up. Got another extension to block it, but it still pops up..... Reinstalled it to see if I could somehow block it from spamming me with a "pay to get AI translate" before I uninstall again. If not, I have no idea how to remove this super annoying pop-up!!

  • (2021-04-16) Tate Shepherd: Also not able to get this extension to work. Some better documentation would be nice. I've downloaded the extension, enabled it for the page, and changed the language in the extension so that it says "current language: something else" tried refreshing the page and looked for some sort of activate button in the extension. But nothing seems to change the page language

  • (2021-04-08) Aaaron Summers: Thank you.. thank you.. thank you again. Your extension was an answer to my prayers for google's reverting to local languages bug. You are many times better and worthy than all their crowd put together for such a necessary and useful tool. I hope another genius comes up with an extension to get international or country of choice selection instead of distasteful and strange local content selected by geolocation.

  • (2021-04-08) Hamid Abbaasi: Thanks for the great plugin, and I had some suggestions for improving it: - add option for language switch base on IP address - add option for exclude specific site from language switching

  • (2020-12-14) Stuart Shepherd: I've been using this extension since QLS stopped working, unfortunately now that it forces you to change the search engine I can no longer recommend it (I've recommended this to dozens of people in the past) and I am now uninstalling the extension. Yes the search engine switch is indicated in the store description but that does not make it any more acceptable to users.

  • (2020-11-18) I was happy with that extension since day 1... until the last update in November 2020. Now, it changes Chrome's default Google search to a shady one named ntsmartfinder.com and automatically, without even letting the user approving it. I've knew it thanks to a Chrome pop-up telling me that my search engine was changed and if I wanted to switch back to Chrome or keep it like this. Terrible move from your side, you didn't even notice the user before doing that, this is shady. I remove the extension and will find a better one. Your devs made a bad choice.
  • (2020-11-10) Ilya Shinkarenko: Was working fine for years, but now suddenly switched to use ntsmartfinder.com instead of Google as default search engine. There is NO WAY to unconfigure or to refuse to do so. VERY ANNOYING. Uninstalled.

  • (2020-11-09) Alex Tomkins: Avoid - latest update tries to change search engine. Also looks like 1.2.1 tries to insert ads into the language switcher popup, but fortunately Chrome filters them out due to security restrictions. Beware, and uninstall!

  • (2020-11-09) Drew Shafer: It's a shame - this is a nice little extension that really helped my team with QA work, but the attempt to switch the default search engine makes it too shady to keep around. I do not recommend anyone install this, no matter how useful you find it. There is _no_ information available online about this ntsmartfinder.com site, where it wants to redirect searches. As far as I can tell, it currently just redirects searches to google, but in the future, who knows where searches will go? The total lack of transparency makes this a non-starter. I understand that developers need to get paid, and that is probably the motivation behind the search engine change. However, I can only say "probably" because there is no explanation for why the change is necessary. How are searches being monetized? What information is disclosed? Who owns ntsmartfinder.com? Note to the dev: sorry you made this choice. Next time just set up a paypal tip jar or something. I understand that developers need to get paid. This is not the way.
