AutoScroll
This extension adds customizable autoscroll support to Chrome.
For users on Linux or Mac, the lack of autoscroll can be a big pain. This extension can help!
It supports both sticky and non-sticky scrolling, doesn't scroll on textareas or links, and even has settings to customize various aspects such as scroll speed.
To use it, press (or hold) the middle mouse button, then move the mouse to scroll the page. Alternatively, hold Ctrl/⌘ and press the left mouse button.
It won't work on every page, but it should work on most.
Known bugs:
● You need to refresh the site or restart Chrome before it'll work. You only need to do this once.
● Doesn't work on chrome:// URLs or the Chrome Web Store. It's restricted by Chrome for security reasons.

Stopped working due to the Manifest V2 deprecation.
Very good extension, but it has already been removed, it seems it's no longer possible to install it, my browser has disabled it and I had to enable it manually, but I can imagine it will be gone for the next update if the devs don't fix this. Chrome web store says it doesn't fulfill their recommended practices and thus they will disable it and that's what is already happening it seems. Disgraceful that things are like this.
Check out AutoScroll 2.0 in the web store. It's an update of the extension to Manifest v3.

I makes using Vivaldi on a Steam Deck a much more enjoyable experience.
Just go into chrome://flags and enable "Middle button autoscroll". Much easier and is preferable to needing an extension.
Works pretty well but far from perfect. The options to work when you want to start the scroll from hyperlinks etc. does not work. However, I was glad to read a comment in a review here that mentions to start your chromium with these flags "--enable-blink-features=MiddleClickAutoscroll --test-type" So, for me, my Vivaldi browser now starts with this shortcut: "/usr/bin/vivaldi-stable %U --enable-blink-features=MiddleClickAutoscroll --test-type" and it seems to work fine, somewhat better than this addon, but still won't work if you accidently start from a hyperlink. (you can't always easily see what or where hyperlinks are in a page)
I have used this extension for a long time. I use Linux and has been faultless in the Brave Browser. Well done to the developer. Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie! 👍👍👍

hi, your excellent chrome extension AutoScroll is still on manifest v2 which google has seemed to add to a sort of chopping block. can you please update it to manifest v3 to save it? thank you if it helps, you could add a tip jar/donation or payment function. if not that, then can you open source it and release it to github? thank you. if the developer doesn't do this, can developers who code make a clone of this app? feel free to reward yourself with tip jar/donations/payment functions. if not that, then can you open source it and release it to github? thank you.

To everyone looking for an alternative under Linux in light of the v2 phaseout, just add "--enable-blink-features=MiddleClickAutoscroll --test-type" to the Exec part in the desktop file (e. g. /usr/share/applications/google-chrome.desktop).
Doesn't work seemingly anywhere anymore. Ubuntu 24, whatever latest version of Vivaldi is.

It only scrolls while you're actively holding down down command AND the mouse button, kinda defeats the purpose of calling it "auto" if it can't be used handsfree.
I don’t see scrolling on the new reddit design, on other sites I see it visually

i use for manga sites. If you're having trouble, you have to click ctrl first, THEN click left mousepad. practice on grammarly.com since it definitely works there.

Cool but causes error "Hydration failed because the initial UI does not match what was rendered on the server: Did not expect server HTML to contain a <auto-scroll> in <html>." for React SSR. Please add timeout before initialization or wait for the proper event.
