- (2025-06-14) FR T.: I feel like people don't understand that you have to click on the little extension icon AND refresh the page each time to get the extension to work... I have very severe ADHD and it instantly converted an insufferable newspaper site into a readable, understandable one real quick. You can even toggle the font size and/or colors in the options. Developers, please: explain to your users how to work this gadget. Otherwise the review will continue to drop. :( Also, please consider making an option for PDFs! <3 Thank you for your hard work.

I would also have to reread something I just read. This is great! To people that say it doesn't work, I feel this is one of those this that well work for you or will not. I feel like your brain has to be wired differently for it to be able to work. I would like to say to this team for helping me get back into reading.

- (2024-10-17) Emma McIntosh: Excellent tool to create visual fixation on large bodies of text and make articles easier to read. I love that it it so customisable and that you can download the processed text to PDF to keep as reference for later. The extension is pinned to my task bar!

- (2024-09-29) Latham Angove: It's unnecessarily inconvenient. You have to press the pinned extension every time you want to use it on each page. Instead of simply changing the in-site html text, the extension re-writes the whole site to where it's basically their own site running on the actual site's domain. A better solution would be to have auto-activation on every site and to only edit the text of the site instead of giving the site ugly digital surgery.
- (2024-09-29) Jerome Demers: (EDIT) Thanks to other user Songlin Zhao, you have to pin it and then on each page you go, you need to click the icon, this then loads the page into Bionic Reading! I also not able to get this working. I tried to play with some settings but no luck. Restarted chrome completely and even did an chrome update. Nothing. I remove it from chrome and even report it as non trustworthy.
- (2024-09-01) Stochastic Geek: Of course the plugin only works properly on the sites that you open after the installation, if you just install it and test it on the pages you opened earlier, nothing will happen. Just refresh the page. BTW, works on most sites, does not work on this site though.

- (2024-08-28) Alexander Ralston: Works as intended. Only complaint I would say is the user interface could be better but other than that this works. Time to time if I am struggling a little or feel myself going out of focus, I turn this on and I am back on track, plus this helps me with my ADHD ten fold. For the settings I have it set to when I click the extension while having it pinned to the my extension bar. Yes it is annoying that everything gets shown on a separate page rather than being converted but it works and I am happy with it.

Installed 10 other extensions and all work without issue. Not sure what's up. I'll def modify my review if this ever works.

- (2024-08-14) Diana: Found a way to get the extension to work, kind of. Right click the extension > hover over "This can read and change site data > change to "when you click the extension > accept the request to refresh > click the extension again to activate. If it doesn't work, toggle back to "all sites" in the permissions and repeat the above process. Will likely have to toggle back and forth from "all sites" to "when you click the extension" to activate it on each site, which is annoying and not worth the trouble. Especially since I had to sometimes repeat the steps twice in order for it to get one webpage to work.

- (2024-07-01) Songlin Zhao: A lot of people talked about not working. I guess it's because you need to first pin the extension and then click it before it will show you a bionic reading version. Nice tool generally, shorten a lot of reading time, but it extracts text and put them into a only text page without keeping layout of original web page. And cannot work on pdf for me.
- (2024-06-23) Parker Johnston: I love the idea of giving the text on any page the Bionic Reading bolding in place - but this just converts the whole page(or tries to) into a completely different overlay with all the text needlessly reformatted for mobile-width too, and no image embeds. That's on the pages it works on - most just end up blank. Either way, it also blocks everything with a "Remember to pin the extension!" pop-up and tutorial pop-ups that you have to click through every single time you use it, even if you've already got it pinned - dealing with this a dozen times in five minutes was far more frustrating and distracting than this extension would be worth even if it worked. Uninstalling ASAP.

Perhaps it's because they think it'll work automatically? You need to go to the website you want to want to read from, then you click the extension icon from the extension menu, that'll change the content as it's described. Great work, it really does help with reading. Working on Chrome Version 125.0.6422.60
