Silver Bird is a Twitter extension that allows you to follow your timelines and interact with your Twitter account.
The old, not-terrible version of Silver Bird.
Tweet from your Chrome browser. Follow your favorite Twitters. Change the color of the icon ooo!
Enjoy.
May 7, 2019: Popup width was messing up, so I changed width to see what happens.
January 6, 2020: The API keys from the old, original extension expired. I created new ones. Also got rid of that annoying error message for DMs.

- (2021-01-30) George Vourdousis: I did a fresh install of windows, and now whenever I try to use this extension, it pops up an error saying "Ouch... something bad happened to chome bird while calling Twitter's API. Request token response: "Application cannot perform write actions. Contact Twitter Platform Operations though https://help.twitter.com/forms/platform. "() This problem is probably due to incorrect date and time settings in your operating system. Please, review your settings and try again." But all my date and time settings are right and set to automatic anyway. And I can't find any other means to fix this
- (2020-08-30) Paulo Costa: This is what I've looking for, someone to keep supporting the old Silverbird. However, the fact that it still doesn't support 280 characters like the Silverbird M used to is disappointing and I hope it will be updated soon. Keep up the good work.
- (2020-06-30) Clinton Condo: Is this extension not working anymore? It shows an error "could not authenticate" etc. My twitter account is up and fine. Not sure what is happening. I have used this extension for a long time. It is very useful. EDIT 3/5/20 Thank you for fixing the problem!! It works again, thank God! Inquiry please... desktop notification isn't working. When *saved* it actually returns to default 'notification on page'. EDIT 6/30/20 Any chance to reach out the developer for a small personal, paid-for project? Best way to contact?
- (2020-03-29) are k: Nice that this is maintained but I see annoying bug. Using third mouse button causes links to opened in two separate google chrome tabs and silber brird window gets closed. What should happen is that clicked link should be open in *one* separate tab AND siber window should not get close. Rationale: I'm viewing tweets and clicking (via middle mouse button) links that I want to read about later.

- (2019-11-27) Leo Yong Lv: According the overview, the author says "Sorry, I don't know anything about maintaining extensions, which means this won't be getting any sort of updates. I just needed a Twitter extension that worked. Google wouldn't let me install my backed-up version of the old, working Silver Bird, so I redid some code in the new one to make it work like the old one. Because Google won't allow installing extensions outside of the webstore, I decided to upload it just so I can use it myself." This means that we cannot use is any more in the chrome web store. I changed the Twitter API key and it works locally. I am thinking whether I can upload my changes to Github. Then everybody can use it by downloading it.

Please, review your settings and try again.
