New Tab New Art
Description from store

Open a new tab and see a piece of art from a museum collection.

This extension incorporates the collection from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago. In the settings you can also activate Wikimedia Commons as a source and see your history.

If the artwork is in the public domain you can mail a postcard of the work to an address in the United States.

This is such a wholesome, calming tool in the digital world. There’s no pressure, no ads, no noise. Just art. It’s genuinely refreshing to see an extension focused on giving users something meaningful rather than trying to monetize their attention.

This extension gives me a small sense of joy every day. It’s something I didn’t know I needed until I tried it. Now, the idea of going back to a plain white new tab page feels dull and uninspired. The upgrade is simple but powerful.
