It's super convenient to set up price drop notifications, and the interface is easy to use. I highly recommend it to anyone who shops online often.

Check monetoad.com (where it redirects) - it's TATRCK - TAKEADS Privacy-First Native Advertising Network. The developer denies this and this is a bad sign. If you are ok with this intentional internet using slowness and data leak - use it, it tracks prices well. But use it for your own risk.

Often when visit a legitimate website, the extension will unexpectedly redirected to shady, suspicious sites(e.g. tatrck dot com / woqL4W4PB0 (cloudflare proxied)). This is not only disruptive but also poses a significant security risk, especially when dealing with sensitive information like online banking or personal data. Read review from Feb 8, 2024 where the author attempt to defend the malicious practice with some sort of "agreement" clause. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this extension. It's a deceptive, malicious tool that prioritizes profit over user safety. It hijacks your sessions, invades your privacy, redirects you to dangerous sites. Rating: 0/5
• (2024-05-22) Rotten Dupstep RO: Very helpful addon when trying to get notified when the price of an item which you are interested on changes. I am using Otsledit since 2022. It lifts all the burden of accessing 5 pages every day just to see if the price of some items changed compared to the last day. Otsledit checks all the pages in the background and notifies you if the price changed. Do not be afraid, it is not hungry for the PC resources, you will not even be aware that this is running on background. It is simple and clever to use, everything is intuitive, there is no need to read an instruction manual to know how to use it. Please, give it a try and then you will wonder how on earth you lived until now without using Ostledit. Good job, guys! I want to share my appreciation for you work!

• (2024-04-23) Karl Servian: The app seems to do what it advertises. It does indeed check prices regularly by opening saved pages in a background tab and then closing them. It would be nice if there were an option to change the frequency of these popups to maybe once or twice a day. It's just slightly distracting seeing that extra movement in the background when I know nothing's changed. The good news is those popups only happen one at a time and seem to be evenly spaced out. If popup frequency could be changed to once a day and start after having Chrome open for a certain amount of time, I would give it a 5/5. For now, there's room for improvement.

Basically, what this means is when you use Google to look up something, this extension messes with the links and sends you off to other websites you didn't mean to visit. This feels a lot like malware to me because it's sneaky and messes with your privacy and safety online. I really think it shouldn't be on the Chrome Web Store anymore to keep it from harming more people who don't know about it. Even though the extension description says it'll show ads on its free version, it never mentioned anything about sending us off to websites while we're just trying to browse normally. That's a big no-no for me. I'm totally fine with seeing ads on the extension itself (developers need to get paid for sure), but I didn't sign up for my search results to be hijacked. Plus, doing this isn't okay, at least not here in Europe or in my home, Finland. When I pick an extension from the official Chrome Web Store, I expect it to be safe and not play tricks on me by redirecting my clicks or secretly sharing my browsing info with advertisers without asking me first. I discovered that the developer of the extension mentions the ad redirecting feature on their personal website, but not on the Chrome Web Store where it is more important. This information should be readily available on the Chrome Web Store for users to see before they decide to install it, rather than being hidden away on some other site. Users should not have to go to external sources to find such basic details about how an extension works.

Therefore, it is highly recommended that this extension be removed from the Chrome Web Store to prevent further harm to unsuspecting users. Although the extension's description mentions that the free version contains ads on the watchlist page, it fails to mention anything about redirection during regular browsing. This is where I draw the line. I am okay with banner ads on the extension itself, but it is not acceptable to add redirection to links that I browse. edit: Now the developer has replied that the ad redirection is mentioned on his website, but this admission is tucked away on an external website, not on the Chrome Web Store where potential users are making their decision to install. This lack of transparency is a major issue for me and the act of altering my web searches and directing me elsewhere without clear upfront disclosure crosses a line. It's especially concerning considering the stringent privacy regulations in Europe and my home country, Finland. I believe these undisclosed redirection practices could very well be illegal here. When I choose to add an extension from the Chrome Web Store, I do so with the expectation that it will enhance my browsing experience without compromising my online safety or privacy. The fact that this critical information about ad redirection is not readily available on the Chrome Store, but rather hidden on an external site, is misleading and unacceptable. Users should not have to investigate external sources to uncover such fundamental details about how an extension operates.
