A simple Chrome Extension to quickly duplicate events on Google Calendar.
This extension adds a "Duplicate event" icon on the event preview card, letting you quickly duplicate it with one single click.
You can also quickly duplicate an event by holding alt (option on Mac OS) while clicking the event.

Really help me a lot! Thank you! p/s can you guys add thing to make it possible to duplicate tasks too?
nice
So simple but so helpful!!
Working great, the only thing that can be edited is to chose number of duplication like two or three duplication and the other thing is that it changes the view after duplication done to 7 days and changes the week start day
Unusable, clicking the duplicate button just brings you to current day without duplicating anything.
Fixed bug where it brings you back to current date so it's great for duplicating for future events.
Awesome! Saves a lot of time. Thank You so much! As others have mentioned, going to current day whenever you duplicate an item in a future day happens. I hope the developer will fix it hopefully. As for my use case, it's not a problem as I only use it whenever i duplicate an item within 4 days. so the view is in the same page. (Also using Alt+Clicking the event saves a lot more time. Clever!) Again Thank you so much for this :)
The duplicate button is not the same color and is not in line with the other buttons. Also duplicating moves the view to present day
As others have said, if you're trying to duplicate an event that is not in your current timescale, for example, work shifts weeks or months in the future, every time you alt+click, it will take you back to the current date. It's not particularly functional. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon, as this seems to be pretty basic functionality for a calendar.
good stuff well done. love it
Helpful if needing to duplicate an event within the same month- but as a shift worker trying to duplicate my shifts months and months in advance it is less helpful as after you select "duplicate" it sends you back to the current month. Almost creates more work then the original chrome duplicate option where you have to select a new date for the event.
Seems to work as planned. For some reason it took a couple of minutes for the icon to populate on Calendar after I had refreshed a couple of times. Alt (Option) feature works by clicking on the event one time while holding the shortcut; I was clicking and dragging which wasn't working. Thanks for this plugin!
Works exactly as advertised. Very helpful.
Good idea, unpleasant issue : if working out of current date range, f.ex : 2 years ahead, performing quick duplicate will refresh page and BRING YOU BACK TO CURRENT DATE
THANK YOU
Great thing!
Awesome! Alt+click is super fast way to duplicate events
Did this ever get fixed? I added the extension but the duplicate button is not appearing on the event preview, nor does the option + click function work.
This will be a killer solution, but on the latest Chrome on a PC, I am having two issues: 1. Right click duplicate was there for a bit and now is gone. 2. When I duplicate, it moves to the month before when in month view and the week before in week view. I really hope this gets worked out...the idea is BRILLIANT!
It is practical because Google doesn't want to do that feature, but, as the others, very annoying to be redirected to the current week, it should remember the week displayed and after duplicating come back to it. Also, a shortcut or possibility to add a shortcut to do the action would be great, maybe in the extension parameters ? Apart from that, thanks for doing it.
Handy extension, use it often. I'm facing the same issue as Karol below though and I hope the dev fixes it soon!
Very useful. One issue I am facing is that when I plan for a future week, after duplicating it takes me back to the current week. It's annoying because I have to keep re-adjusting the calendar to go back to the future week I am planning.
Love it! Thanks for making it happen. ONE PROBLEM: When I duplicate an event, say for next week, it will duplicate the event for next week, but immediately moves me back to the current week after. I like planning ahead, so this is a problem I'm facing when doing so.
What a time saver. we can create duplicates by two clicks. Thanks Fabio for this great extention.
Easy to use! Love it!
Such a fantastic timesaving exntension. Use it all the time. Came here to panic-report that it is no longer working, however I see you're already working on a fix! Phew and thanks :)
Not working please fix! Also can you make an option when you right click an event, theres a option to duplicate please?
I'm having this exact same problem: I like to use my Gcal in weekly view. Whenever I duplicate an event, it will switch my view to the "day view". Could you please make it so that I could either 1) have the same view I started with or 2) have a setting to decide what the default view should be.
i love it! on mac with opt+click it duplicates an event in 0.5 seconds

Wow, amazing extension! Thanks!!!
Works as expected, amazing extension!
[Update: Adding a star because the view switch issue has been resolved] Great concept. Has potential as a good streamliner for duplicating tasks without using Google's "recurring" function that results in nuisance prompts when moving the entries around. My problem is once I duplicate an event, my calendar display switches from "week view" to "day view" and I have to switch it back each time. This completely defeats the single benefit I gleaned from this add on. Also, if the user could specify the number of duplicates, that would be stellar. For example, I pencil in my morning and evening routines when setting up my calendar each week to give me a visual basis for planning all of my time in between. I then I modify the routine blocks with what the actual time they occurred at the end of each day. So on a Monday morning, if I could create a routine block, duplicate it five times, and then move them to their respective days, that would be an ideal scenario and take me about thirty seconds instead of five minutes. Resolving those two points would earn 5 stars from me.
Can't find the option to duplicate event... or is this not working anymore?
It's a great extension but it's a bit stubborn. Sometimes it does not show up as on option, sometimes yes
Amazing! Saves so much time. Thank you!!
Great add-on. Unfortunately, as of December 2023 it no longer works. Bummer. EDIT - Developer has fixed and it's working again! Great. Review updated. This add-on saves me tons of time. I never realized how tedious recreating events and tasks can be until I used this add-on. It's a must-have for me.
Quick duplicate has been working really well for years. Now, it is NOT working as of Chrome Version 119.0.6045.200 (Official Build) (64-bit) released 11/28/2023. I think the plugin needs to be updated or something. It just stopped working in the last few days since this official version of Chrome was deployed.
Stopped working
Great add-on, thank you developer(s)! But as Daniel said, as of right now it does not work :/
Does what it says, made life a lot easier. Silly that this extension is even required, wish Google Calendar let you duplicate drop and drag itself

Simple and effective. Thank you to the creator of this extension!

Definitely better than the cumbersome option google has for this. A great time-saver for me.

Seems to duplicate but immediately places the duplicate at the same time of the original event without allowing me to change the event to a different date and or time. So, it does duplicate, but why not duplicate and keep the duplicate event open in order to change details before closing and saving?

Properly duplicates a task but changes the view from "week" to "day" wasting more of my time and clicks instead of saving it.
