AdGuard Advertentieblokker
Description from store

AdGuard ad blocker effectively blocks all types of advertising on all web pages, even on Facebook, YouTube, and others!

What AdGuard ad blocker does:

1. Blocks all ads including:
- Video ads (including YouTube video ads)
- Rich media advertising like video ads, interstitial ads and floating ads
- Unwanted pop-ups
- Banners and text ads (including Facebook advertisements)
2. Speeds up page loading and saves bandwidth, thanks to the missing ads and pop up windows
3. Blocks many spyware, adware and dialer installers (optional)
4. Protects your privacy by blocking common third-party tracking systems (optional)
5. Protects you from malware and phishing (optional)

Why is AdGuard ad blocker better than Adblock or AdBlock Plus?

1. AdGuard ad blocker is really fast and lightweight. It uses half as much memory as other popular solutions: Adblock, Adblock Plus, and even outperforms uBlock.
2. AdGuard can handle anti-adblocking scripts. You won't have to turn off the ad blocker any more to be able to visit the websites that are using such scripts. Just send a complaint to our technical support and we'll handle it.
3. AdGuard is simply better looking and more modern.

How can AdGuard ad blocker protect your privacy?
Just enable "Spyware and tracking filter" in AdGuard's settings. It completely removes all forms of tracking from the Internet. AdGuard has one of the largest tracker filters containing more than 5,000 rules. It is even larger than the databases of Ghostery® and Disconnect.
How to remove social media with AdGuard?
Tired of all the «Like» buttons and similar widgets infesting all of your frequented web pages? Just enable AdGuard's "Social media filter" and forget about them.
How can AdGuard AdBlocker protect you from online threats?
At the moment we’ve got more than 1,800,000 harmful web sites on record. AdGuard can block domains known to spread malware, protecting your computer against viruses, Trojan horses, worms, spyware and adware. AdGuard really lowers risk of virus infections and prohibits access to harmful websites to prevent potential attacks.

==============================

What's new in version 2.9.2:

[Added] Integration with the new Assistant

For a while now we develop AdGuard Assistant more or less independently, to later use it wherever we need — Windows and Mac apps use regular Assistant, Android and iOS apps use mobile version. Browser extension users encounter Assistant when they click "Block ads on this website" button. We will not go into the details here, those who interested can find the exhaustive changelog inside the Assistant repo.

[Improved] InsertCSS to use instead of the content scripts

There was a certain change in Chrome browser recently, that prompted us to respond by reconsidering the way we inject scripts and styles. The good thing is, thanks to this change we now have less bugs, more possibilities and were even able to make the extension more lightweight by reducing the amount of code.

[Improved] ExtendedCss has been updated to v1.10

This change is on the technical side, but from the end user perspective it converts into better performance and better quality ad blocking, thanks to more tools being available to the extension now.

Common
[Fixed] Some regex rules don't work
[Fixed] Can't build the extension with Maven 3.5.2
[Fixed] Assistant menu doesn't save its position on pages
[Fixed] Assistant doesn't block in 'Preview' mode
[Fixed] Element hiding exclusion can't be applied to iframe
[Fixed] Filters are not getting updated after the clean install
[Fixed] Assistant dialog default position is different from where it should be
[Fixed] AdGuard extension for Yandex Browser prevents downloading of .pdf files on vk.com
[Fixed] Rules proposed by AdGuard for "content-security-policy-check" are incorrect
[Fixed] Warning Page Appears Twice
[Fixed] Extension can't detect it when you disable filtering in Adguard for Win via Assistant
[Improved] Old links have been replaced with new ones

==============================
In addition to browser extensions, there are also AdGuard versions for Windows and Mac. You can download them on the website adguard.com.
How do they differ from the browser extension:

- Block ads in all browsers.
- Block ads even better (although it would seem that it just couldn’t be any better :)).
- Block requests to dangerous sites, instead of just warning about them.
- Contain Parental Control module. When it is enabled, you can safely leave your children alone with the internet.
- Allow you to install extensions (userscripts) - Greasemonkey and Tampermonkey analogue for all browsers.
- Integrated with the Web of Trust (WOT, mywot.com). With us, you will be assured of reliability of the websites that you are visiting.

Absolutely Blown Away – Installed Yesterday and It’s Already Blocked 50,000+ Ads! I downloaded AdGuard AdBlocker just yesterday, and I’m honestly amazed by how big of a difference it’s made already. In less than 24 hours, it’s blocked over 50,000 ads — and I’m not exaggerating. I knew the internet was full of ads, but seeing that number jump so fast really showed me how much junk was slowing down my browsing before. From the moment I installed it, everything started feeling smoother and faster. YouTube videos load instantly without pre-roll ads, news sites that used to be covered in pop-ups are now completely clean, and social media feels so much less cluttered. Even pages that used to freeze up or lag because of trackers now open almost instantly. What really stands out is how seamless AdGuard feels. I didn’t have to mess with any complicated settings — I just installed it, and it worked right out of the box. The interface is clean and easy to understand, and I like that it gives you a live count of how many ads and trackers it’s blocking. It’s oddly satisfying watching that number climb! I also appreciate how customizable it is. You can whitelist sites that you want to support, create your own filters, or adjust the protection level if you’re more technical. But even if you don’t touch a single setting, it just works perfectly. I haven’t had any issues with websites breaking or videos not loading — which is something that used to happen a lot with other ad blockers I tried in the past. Before this, I used a couple of other popular ad blockers, and while they worked “okay,” I’d constantly run into problems — like ads slipping through on YouTube or websites nagging me to disable the blocker. With AdGuard, that hasn’t been an issue at all. It seems smarter about how it handles ads, and it blocks a lot of those hidden tracking scripts too, which is a nice bonus for privacy. Another thing I love is that it just stays out of the way. You forget it’s even there until you check the stats and realize how much it’s doing behind the scenes. It’s also lightweight — no lag, no high CPU usage, nothing slowing my computer down. It just makes browsing clean, quiet, and efficient. In just one day of using it, I’ve gone from being constantly annoyed by ads to actually enjoying being online again. It’s kind of crazy to think how many ads we all put up with until something like this shows you how peaceful the internet can be without them. If you’re even thinking about getting an ad blocker, stop scrolling and just install AdGuard. It’s genuinely the best one I’ve tried — powerful, simple, and incredibly effective. I can’t believe I waited this long to use it. Huge props to the developers for making something that works this well. Highly recommended — 5 stars all the way! 🌟

Works for YouTube and 9anime. These are the two main streaming services I am mainly on so this is a really good adblocker. Good management with the settings and easy to find settings that are designed for certain websites which makes things way easier.

Was great for a while but youtube caught up with them, now it forces you to refresh the page before watching the video like other adblocks. Shame, hope they update it.

AdGuard has nothing but open contempt for the Google Chrome version of this AdBlocker. As of today (04/11/2025), the filters haven't updated since 28th of October while the version I have running in Edge was not only updated today, but runs EasyList as well (the Google Chrome version does not). And sure enough, the one from Edge works a lot better. Spoke to AdGuard support about this, and their "fix" has proven to be entirely useless, so this review is my attempt to warn others about this version. Get AdGuard for another browser, because the Google Chrome one suffers from the AdGuard team's open and blatant neglect.

Before leaving bad review, keep in mind that Youtube & Twitch always update their web & ads from time to time, that's why the adblock fail suddenly to block new ad, it needs time for devs to update the adblock afterwards. How to notify Dev if adblock fails? Enable COLLECT ERROR in "manage extension" section! That's how dev get notify asap whenever youtube ad appears agn every time. The more people collect & provide the errors, the more detectable errors for Dev to notice in real time~

It's excellents and works extremely well across all websites like duolingo, streaming sites etc. except for spotify. You'll have to download a specific spotify adblocker to block adds there. Otherwise, Adguard is excellent! :)

It really used to be good, but it blocks just about nothing, now. It's way better on the phone. They give almost no love to the chrome browser.

AdGuard is the best. I used a prior to Ublock Origins but since the V3 manifest of Google I had to go to Adguard. But before I use Adguard on Chrome I always use Android and Android TV. I love this application.

On 10/27/2025 after an update this extension no longer works. I can't fix it. It used to be really good, now doesn't even work.

watered down where by its not worth having any longer, was once a useful product.

This went from a Chrome extension to avoid ads to a Chrome extension that forces ads onto your screen. This extension will continually put ads over anything you are browsing now.
