- Merlin packs tons of features, but the interface feels overwhelming and cluttered. TinaMind is much cleaner — summaries, mind maps, and translation all in one simple workflow.

- The extension takes ages to load on every page when pressing Ctrl + M. Fix this annoying slow loading please.

- I have a lifetime license via AppSumo and highly recommend you do not install this extension. It now injects annoying "charitable" ads from a service called Give Freely. Expect to see annoying hard-to-close popups that guilt-shames you whenever you try to shop *anything* online. If they are willing to sell-out their paying users and bother them over and over in such an intrusive way, akin to installing malware on your computer, then what are they then doing with your data? Probably nothing good. I don't trust the people and company behind Merlin one bit. Will report/flag concern with both the Chrome Web Store and Apple's....

- Love this extension. Does exactly what I want. Thanks Merlin!! And when writing this review, i saw someone else was complaining about a popup. I went looking for it (hard to find), and it was offering a free donation to charity. OMG - what is anyone complaining about? And there was a very clear button that says 'close popup', and if you press that, you can prevent the popup from every showing again. Net net - Makes me love Merlin even more!

- Can confirm that Merlin is injecting ad-ware code into sites. Was making a purchase and saw a popup dialogue that had no safe exit element, but did have a link to here: https://givefreely.com/charity-ad-why?p=merlinprod If you do use this extension then I would recommend going to the 'Manage Extension' option and enabling 'On click' under site access. This way Chrome will not allow Merlin to inject code on sites that you don't explicitly allow it to.

- It really feels like they’re throttling their users. It used to be pretty good, but now all I get are a couple of lines no matter what I ask, even if the old Claude could handle full articles with barely any effort. Plus, everything is painfully slow the site, the chat, you name it. And what’s with this new “Flow” thing? It honestly unnecessary and doesn’t help at all. Perplexity and Manus are far, far better options!
