- (2025-07-11) Homme Hu: There is a shortage that we cannot use the extension to highlight or marks the important sentences and words.
- (2025-07-09) wei ziang: we need highlight function!!!
- (2025-07-08) Trung Tín Tạ: Useful extension! Hope it will have commenting and highting tools.
- (2025-07-07) Fairy Cat: Pretty good extension! Could you consider adding a commenting feature? Additionally, when navigating away by clicking on an image or reference, it would be helpful to have a "back" function that returns the user to their previous reading position. This would greatly improve usability. Thank you!
- (2025-07-02) Kartik Chincholikar: this app is perfect - but can we please add a simple "Highlight text" feature? really missing that rn
- (2025-07-01) Chandan Singh: Really good
- (2025-06-28) Kashif Mukhtar: As an independent scholar without institutional access, I rely heavily on tools that streamline the process of discovering, organizing, and reading academic content. The Google Scholar PDF Reader stands out as a practical extension that enhances research efficiency by integrating PDF access directly within the Google Scholar ecosystem.
- (2025-06-24) Robert Law: This does not work well
- (2025-06-16) Augustine Chu: need tools to highlight paragraphs and save to local.
- (2025-06-09) Arpita Halder: The left sidebar, which now includes the AI feature, should be widened. This would be more user-friendly and functional than relying on a horizontal scrollbar.
- (2025-06-01) Kanyinsola Ogunwale: I really like that there's a dark mode.
- (2025-05-30) Faizan Khawaja: Excellent PDF reader but NEEDS highlighting tools at the very least.
- (2025-05-26) Leming Shen: A very good PDF reader extension, especially when reading papers. I suggest adding a functionality, i.e., translating the selected text.
- (2025-05-16) JYOT ANTANI: extension *really* useful in research after a long time! (possibly after Google Scholar Button) AI outline may come in handy at some point (my mind's jury is out on that), but... key strengths for me: * click on a reference (e.g., number or FirstAuthor Year) and it brings up the full detail (title, authors, year, google scholar link) without going to ref section * click on figure reference, brings you to figure. click back button, brings you back * night mode (also relevant beside just reading if you make your presentations in black background - you can snip the figures in dark mode and paste into your presentation, which looks more professional than pasting a white-background figure)
- (2025-05-13) william hutchins: amazing for filtering through papers but needs a feature to highlight things
- (2025-05-10) Özgür Girgin: It's a wonderful idea and a time saver. However, the addition of a highlighter function would be great. Currently, it is easy to lose the page/paragraph you want to cite for later.
- (2025-05-10) Haocheng XIAO: Nice work!!!
- (2025-05-10) Shlomo dines: it has some very useful features a specialty the night mode is very good. but in dose not have a lot of features from the "PDF Viewer" extension like two page display or OCR, so you have to chose what you want. it would be nice to have all the features in one extension and not need to switch
- (2025-05-10) Ryan Buchanan: The options for dark mode and making the AI summaries optional made me re-download this. It's a good program, runs well, and is basically a must for any serious research. The only reason I'm not giving this a 5 is because I think it still has some untapped potential, but I'm not 100% sure what yet.
- (2025-05-06) Maximilian “Max” Ley: Adding some highlight editing tools and something for writing comments (for a local copy of the file) would be perfect for my scientific work. Thanks for this great tool!
- (2025-05-05) Miranda Vinay: This is great, i love the outline created. One suggestion to make this app much better would be to be able to estimate the wordcount of the paper (or even better, the wordcount in each subsection). This would really help!
- (2025-05-02) Lamarck Leland: The dark mode is beautiful. My eyes are grateful.
- (2025-05-01) Christopher W: Good and useful. But, without 2-page view, this is a dealbreaker and a huge downgrade from the normal chrome viewer. Will wait until the 2-page view.
- (2025-05-01) John H.: Works well. Doesn't work on google drive pdf's, presumably paywalled behind Gemini integration.
- (2025-04-29) Shawn Chan: Great when it works, with all its citation navigation and AI summary features. Even greater if it works more often across more sites.
- (2025-04-29) Daniel Wrench: Very useful tool, except for the fact it doesn't include the DOI when exporting the bibtex citation. Please add this feature!
- (2025-04-29) Daryhan Rafifi: very good, i have to
- (2025-04-29) Ashish Panwar: This is a great tool! I have a few suggestions to improve it further: 1. Loading citations currently takes a bit longer. Making it faster would be super helpful. 2. Allow zooming in on the AI outline. 3. Add highlight/edit tools.
- (2025-04-24) 권영석[학생](공과대학 기계공학과): Really wonderful extension. Please add 1. highlight edit tools (like edge browser) 2. Author search tap 3. double pages view
- (2025-04-22) Emmanouil Skordalakis (mskordal): It is a nice start. It would be a great benefit to be able to zoom on the AI overview or create a doc with the contents. Currently copying and pasting to a doc does not retain the structure of the overview (bullet points , headings, etc.).
- (2025-04-22) amin jalalmanesh: ok ok ok
- (2025-04-16) Matteo Bennis: I've already used this extension and it's fantastic but now that I've changed my browser it doesn't work anymore. I am currently on the latest version of Vivaldi, I hope the problem will be corrected in the future.
- (2025-04-12) Ian uɐI: The download button is broken (cannot download any PDF!), this is a critical bug reported weeks ago and nothing has changed... The standard built-in browser PDF viewer downloads fine. EDIT: first review in August 2025, now April 2025 and download button is STILL broken, you must switch to standard chrome PDF view to download!!!
- (2025-04-09) Carlos J Latorre Rojas: Love it but I would love to use it in downloaded articles.
- (2025-04-05) D Q: Good
- (2025-04-03) Barno Barno: good morning saar
- (2025-04-03) Peter Barnett: The best PDF viewing experience.
- (2025-04-02) Ken Liu: makes life much easier
- (2025-04-02) Burak Inner: Very important feature is missing. Please add this : Faces : view two pages side by side Page Dispaly: Two Page View
- (2025-03-30) thi cam huong le: This is a great extension! It would be even better if you added a highlighting feature—right now, other highlight extensions don’t seem to work with it.
- (2025-03-26) Matéo Clémente: The citation part of the tool is very useful, but no double view is an absolute dealbreaker
- (2025-03-25) Rhamon C. Malheiro: It's quite good. But still lack a marking option
- (2025-03-25) 笈川桐枝: Hope there will be bionic reading support for ADHDers in the future.
- (2025-03-24) Sanjana Hattotuwa: Absolutely fantastic extension, that's so much better than the native Chrome PDF viewer for all PDFs. For academic papers, it's a game-changer. Can't recommend highly enough.
- (2025-03-21) qihui zhang: Offers faster file-opening speeds, a smooth reading experience, and convenient access to in-text cited articles. However, adding highlight and annotation functions would make this plugin perfect.
- (2025-03-17) Théo Nasca: Excellent, especially for the references! It just miss the basic double page view option to gain its fifth star! Shouldn't be difficult to add it I hope.
- (2025-03-16) Rodrigo Vianna: I´ve been lookin for a nocturne mode for sooooo long, all research has a white background it really hurts my eyes!!! The nocturn mode makes the paper black! love it!!! 5 stars!!!!
- (2025-03-14) Benjamin: Absolutely amazing pdf reader, love the referencing tools and being able to instantly have the links to any articles referenced. If you're a student this plugin is a must have and makes cross-referencing very straightforward. Only thing I wish it had was an annotation system, but overall a great plugin!
- (2025-03-13) Isaiah Sosa: Really appreciate what they did with this Extension! It makes reading academic articles so much easier.
- (2025-03-06) Marco Villela: Love the cite built in feature an the AI summary, all it needs now is a highlight/mark option and it's a spectacular 100/100
