A bookmarking utility for the Turtl app (https://turtlapp.com/)
This is the Chrome bookmarking extension for Turtl (https://turtlapp.com). It is meant to be run alongside the desktop app to allow easier bookmarking.
Turtl is open-source, allowing anybody to audit the source or run their own version: https://github.com/turtl

We believe you should have control over who has access to your data. This is a real problem: with increasing threats from hackers and government surveillance, how can you trust the online services that store your private information? The idea behind Turtl is that you shouldn't have to.
We've set up our service so that only you have the keys to your data and it gets encrypted before it leaves your computer. That way, even if the NSA wiretaps your Internet connection, even if an army of mercenaries storms our data-center and steals our hard drives, your data is unreadable to everyone, including us.
Because it's nobody else's business but yours.

- (2019-12-20) Adriano Ponte: "Problem connecting to Turtl There was an problem talking to the Turtl app. Make sure that Turtl is running and try clicking the button again. If you don't have the Turtl desktop app yet, you can get it from the Turtl download page."
- (2019-01-28) Thiago Piardi: If the windows software could at least minimize to tray it could be used, but as the main software hasn't this feature and the extention dont connect by itself to the DB this isn't very usefull.
- (2018-07-08) ikab bika: It works for me well.
- (2018-05-22) Orbitalunderground HD Productions: Excellent. What a refreshing (SECURE) change of pace from the "other" note and bookmarking apps. ----------------- ABOUT EXTENSION TO DESKTOP SYNCING: What is everyone's dysfunction? It's VERY VERY SIMPLE: 1) Install the desktop program. 2) add this extension to chrome. 3)click the icon in the upper right of your chrome browser- (where all chrome extension links go.) it will present a box and ask for the sync code from the desktop app. 4)OPEN THE DESKTOP PROGRAM & SIGN IN WITH YOUR CREDENTIALS. **YOU WILL VERY PLAINLY SEE A CODE INSIDE A BOX COME UP (for me it was in the bottom right atop the windows taskbar- its a long random aphanumeric string- highlight it and hit control+c then return to the empty box still hanging in the upper right of chrome click inside that box and control+v BOOM... DONE... DOnt even have to hit enter to submit. Thanks to the Devs for this gem!!
- (2018-03-31) PorkCharSui: What a useless piece of software. It doesn't sync my bookmarks across browsers or let's me import my extensive bookmark collection. Do you think I'm gonna create every bookmark again... you are crazy!

- (2017-12-09) Zach Hayter: I needed an online place where I could store my confidential data such as client contact details, passwords and cryptocurrency keys. It needed to have the following features: A. Completely FREE B. Works across my desktop, laptop, tablet and phone. Turtl ticks all of my boxes. Just make sure you set a strong password for your main login, which is different from all your other passwords! Absolutely amazing what these guys are providing. Turtl Team - I am eternally grateful, thank you!!!

- (2016-11-01) James Leung (jobias): Works great. I wish there was a keyboard shortcut but that's a minor issue.
- (2016-03-09) Pat Uelmen Huey: Between the Turtl desktop script, the Android app, and this Chrome extension (which I added to my Vivaldi browser), the only thing I use Evernote for now is as a file cabinet for scanned bank statements and recipes. Everything else (= important stuff) goes into Turtl. Great job on a great piece of software.
