  • (2024-04-16) Mike Power: Perfect extension. Extremely useful. Clean and simple to use. I'm not in need of premium but I pay it to thank the developer and help keep it going. With more and more webpages getting cluttered this is a must have, especially for long articles and blog posts. I've tried out other reader extensions but this remains my top choice.
  • (2023-12-10) Jeff Jewett: About as perfect as you can get! Simplifies reading and completely reliable. This is one worth paying for.
  • (2023-10-26) LaMont Price: Perfect and simple extension. A must have. Pay the $12 bucks for the premium.
  • (2023-10-13) Alvi Siddique: works perfectly. But would be better with more theme, like brown background.
  • (2023-10-05) Hans Júlíus Þórðarson: Works like a charm for my ADHD :)
  • (2023-10-04) Che Chi: Not working on Medium
  • (2023-09-25) Mark K.: Does not work. This program opens only the first page in a format for reading (and printing)._ Не работает.
  • (2023-08-10) Elvie Ward: I installed this extension and went right to premium so I could share the Just Read version of pages with others via email. I was hoping for something similar to EmailThis which I paid for the premium version too. That WAS a great extension as the developer doesn't keep it working any longer. The Just Read link is good but could be better if the reader version could be emailed intact with the article title and link to the original article with the JR version intact in the email body. To send an email with the link I have to give the email a title because the link doesn't provide that info. Hope this makes sense for improving a great extension. Thanks, Tom
  • (2023-07-27) Andreas Persson: Happy user since many years, however lately this extension make FB Messenger (always open in a pinned Tab) go crazy, loading all data for all chats = use 50% + CPU/RAM, go unresponsive etc. As soon as this is fixed this will be a 4 star again.
  • (2023-06-19) Aaron Mauldin: Just what I needed. Appears to work great!
  • (2023-06-18) Bram: I noticed that when used on NYTimes.com articles, images in the article are duplicated. I'm able to use the "deletion mode" to remove them but it's time consuming and manual. Not sure if it's another extension I have causing the issue or if it's NYTimes specific.
  • (2023-05-30) Al Bryan: This extension is a time saver and life saver for me. While working on sermons I need to print out articles without wasting ink and paper on pictures. It is smooth, even easier than tarting with cut and paste. Keep it simple, I say!
  • (2023-03-07) Allen Clark: This extension shouldn't be needed, but most online publications continue to present their articles as black text on a white background. Tough on the eyes if you spend too much time reading the news as I do. I've set up Just Read to present everything as light gray text on a very dark gray background (still not black and white), which saves my vision.
  • (2023-03-04) Otávio Henrique: Tem muito potencial, torna as paginas mais limpas melhorando a leitura, principalmente usando junto a extensão Dark Reader.
  • (2023-03-01) Victor Davich: One would think that an easy reader doesn't require the user to understand code, reinvent the wheel. maybe this one doesn't. and maybe it actually helps.
  • (2023-02-21) Jason Duncan: While this extension isn't the MOST user friendly for those who are not familiar with how to navigate GitHub for a FAQ response, it is still easily worth it, even if it were to take some time for some users to figure out the basic macros, either in the extension manager or through the aforementioned site. PRO TIP: If you do get this extension for a Chrome browser, after installing it, merely navigate to this URL - "chrome://extensions/shortcuts" (just copy-paste and hit "enter"; also, it's the basic Chrome Extension setup URL, so do not be afraid to navigate to it), and it will show you the default macro interactions, which can be changed, by clicking the little pencil/pen icon to the right of the given macro, and then you're all set! Even the more stubborn sites that you wish to view-- especially if you wish to view them in a basic, uncluttered format-- are easily converted into a plain, clear set of copy that is customizable by theme and easy on the eyes. I love this extension so much that I actually shelled out for the "Premium" version, merely to support the creators for their excellent work. I will say, however, that my Premium Dashboard has yet to sync with my extension history, though this could be the result of a set of conflicting extensions that I have installed (I have many... ). Keep up the great work, Zach!
  • (2023-02-02) Datazeus: Es excelente. It's excellent. My main option for cleaning ads and reading only the text. It's configurable, which is great. I am going to highly recommend it to my clients, in a Course that I am already promoting. Many thanks to the creator of this app, it's great.
  • (2022-12-08) Chris Vydas: Doesn't work on kiwi and desperately needs dark mode
  • (2022-11-16) Treksh Marwaha: Its a really amazing extension for sure though one of the most recent updates seems to have broken it for me. I mostly use this on translated websites because they have a lot of clutter, previously you had to open and close Justread while not reloading the page for it to collect all the content properly, now it forces the page to reload making it incapable of formatting translated pages correctly. Please roll out a fix!
  • (2022-11-13) Rick Powell: I evaluated a handful of distraction-free reading extensions before settling on this one, for two reasons: 1) it has a nice-looking dark mode; 2) any highlights I make with Readwise still reference the original URL, unlike two of the other extensions I tried which temporarily load pages into the extension itself. I'm not a deveoper so I'm sure there's a better way to express that. ;-) The extension is also fast and lightweight.
  • (2022-11-09) Emmanuel Poirier: Hi Zach, just read is great as it saves tons of time scanning and reading long texts turning them into something more readable like on a book. Some sites with tons of design render badly: the design like all those clickable images are removed (I use the default theme with body background color as black to ease the reading) which breaks the eye scanning logic of the site but I think just read is for long blog posts anyway. Great job and please add a one time fee contribution so I can pay for it.
  • (2022-10-14) Eduard Tikhenko: It doesn't work.
  • (2022-10-06) Usman Lubis: good tool if you want to read without distraction
  • (2022-09-13) Knut Külick: Perfekt tillägg!
  • (2022-09-03) jindacz: function is good. but used too many RAM. using many plugin, RAM top1 ad-block, top2 just-read. Make this plugin consume less resource.
  • (2022-08-30) Derek Ulrich: This plug-in epitomises 'less is more'; which is why I'm keeping my review short.
  • (2022-08-30) Néstor Rosendo Fuentes: It works fine with the majority of web pages and articles, it is really helpful to have a clear view of the text. There are some pages where it does not work.
  • (2022-08-29) John: This is quite possibly the best extension I've installed in any browswer. Today there is so much visual garbage and noise on so many pages that they are unreadable to me. "Just Read" takes care of that. It's like I'm in a room trying to watch TV but the room is filled with people who are shouting at me. Then "Just Read" walks in and says, "SHUT. UP." And they do.
  • (2022-08-23) Anne-Elizabeth Hawley: Indispensable for two reasons: eye strain/aging eyes and a super-wide monitor that makes many web pages (notably Wikipedia and Gmail) too wide to read comfortably without resizing the browser window. One click and I've got a clear, appropriately sized interface to the text. I love Just Read. I've been using it for years.
  • (2022-08-23) Damili: Ya he usado la APP 100 veces. Es genial y te permite ahorrar mucho tiempo.
  • (2022-08-23) Nora Cserny: I use Just Read to save PDFs of articles flagged by my employer's Google Alerts. It's easy to use, relatively bug-free, and works with most websites. I highly recommend this extension.
  • (2022-08-23) Randall Sohn: JustRead lets me get to the content without the distractions of the junk to the sides of the article. It is a great resource.
  • (2022-08-23) William Scott Scherk: JustRead is my second-most important extension (I use it with Edge Chromium. There are so many good features, but here's a fave: when you 'Save to PDF,' you get an actual PDF with full text, able to be edited or copied from. If you want to have a quick, no-clutter version of a busy web page, this is it. It doesn't come any better.
  • (2022-08-22) Neill Fronde: This has become an essential tool for someone who reads tons of news online, where ads and side columns are a constant clutter. 100% recommended, but if I had to complain: 1) It started adding a "?jr=on" variable to the end of the URL, so if you copy and paste the URL it is incorrect. I just noticed a setting that will include the original URL at the top of the edited text though, which solves this problem. 2) On many news websites the opening paragraph is formatted differently as a style choice. Just Read often interprets this as it being junk and eliminates it. I always copy the first paragraph of a story before clicking the JR button and then edit the first unneeded text to paste that paragraph in. If I could make a feature request, it would be an option to keep or remove all images on a page, and possibly like a sensitivity threshold for what JR cuts out, so you can make it automatically remove more or less superfluous text, if that's even possible! To be honest, the premium features aren't that attractive to me, but I'd consider upgrading just as a thanks for the features included for free - Just Read just notified me that I've used the extension nearly 3,000 times already!
  • (2022-08-22) George Madden: This has become a daily use facility for me. When i dont have time to read something at the moment, i no longer have to capture the website and hope its there later. I simply use this and print to a PDF for later reading offline or even print it. Pulls just the article and gets rid of the clutter. Awesome!
Google translate do not work inside reader mode. I hope it is possible to add such feature.
  • (2022-01-28) tabliqat chi: I want to use the free version and I need an option to get rid of the + sign to the right of the articles that moves as I scroll, it's distracting.
  • (2022-01-24) Ro Sharp: Nice extension, pretty minimalistic, supports custom css.
  • (2022-01-18) Bergg Uscha: Does not include all portions of the page. Reproduce: go to the webpage's function 'Print', toggle reading view with this extension, save to pdf (preview) does not include all sections. 'Reader View' by yokris.dev did the job.
  • (2022-01-08) Jonata dmg: ótimo consegue deixar em modo leitura as páginas web
  • (2021-11-30) Pat MySecret: Good, though not many general standard options.. can't turn off images. Most of the options seem to be CSS/text focused and are accessed from the icon vs screen. Allows auto domain run.. not many readers do. I notice a convenient share button. The most unique thing I notice is a start/end deletion mode where you can delete the parts that you've read already..I'm not sure if it saves it though.
  • (2021-11-22) Tom Napp: The free version is great but I would recommend the 'premium' version if you have the means!
