This is the official Chrome extension for the Iron Realms Entertainment text games. This extension gives users access to basic information from the game including messages, news, logs, players online, and more.
This extension hosts the following features for authenticated game players:
- Users can log into the extension with their character credentials.
- Links to their characters in game profile.
- Reports unread messages from the game
- Allows users to read messages, news, and logs from the web site.
- Reports when new game news has been posted.
- Displays the number of online players in the characters text game.
- Links to the flash and nexus clients
- A nifty button that instantly votes for your favorite text game.

- (2020-10-13) Roland Goldberg: I would like to see Daniel Powell's suggestion/fix implemented into the official source for this extension! Super easy, and really makes the icon much nicer when I've got nothing to worry about. Otherwise that bright blue square catches my eye entirely too often while I'm actually getting stuff done. Love the extension other then that!!
- (2018-04-19) Daniel Powell: 2011-11-27 I went unpacked with this. Reason being, I might be a bit OCD, but I really like all the little badge text to disappear when the read count is 0. I mean, it disappears on Google Reader, Gmail, Silver Bird (Twitter), Google Voice, all that. So why not make it disappear for the IRE button also!? My edit in background.html was: chrome.browserAction.setBadgeText ({ "text": (c == null || c == 0) ? "" : c+"" }); Beautiful now! :) Oh. Also went down to a 30-second poll timer, but that's not as much a suggestion as it is just my own thing. 2018-04-16 This extension is severely outdated. ironrealms.com no longer properly supports character logins, and for a few years this has been forwarding to oldsite.ironrealms.com, which, as it turns out, just stopped working today. Would appreciate some serious upgrades to this, but I may have to hack it in the meantime. 2018-04-19 Right! Guess I should just be patient, as they did say they'd upgrade this shortly after they shut down the old site. Badge still shows 0, but I've learned to live with it, and functionality is back!
- (2015-05-18) Dan Schmidt: Does what it needs to, and does it very well. However, it does send character names and passwords via clear text, and not via HTTPS, so there is that........ If they fix this it would warrant 5 stars.
- (2014-11-27) UNST3RBLICH: It's really quick access to some things, but would be more useful and convenient if it worked like a toolbar, such as it does in Firefox.
