Chrome Extension for Boosting Volume Past Max Settings

Image from store Volume Booster
Description from store The FIRST extension to increase and amplify your max volume! 20 MILLION TOTAL INSTALLS! Join OVER TWO MILLION happy WEEKLY ACTIVE users! Boost your volume up to 1000%! Unleash the power of sound, no matter what speakers or headphones you're using. I made this extension so I could blast music on my laptop. Pick how much louder you want the sound to be on audio from any chrome tab. This will work on any audio coming from any tab, and has been successfully tested on both Mac and Windows. If you are on Windows and are having issues with Fullscreen, press F11. If you are on Mac, maximize the window and then press cmd+shift+F. If using earphones or small laptop speakers, moving the slider past the 1/4 of the slider will lead to crackling noise. I am not responsible for any damage done to your speakers/earphones. Please use this extension with care, especially with moving the slider to the red section. I also don’t want anyone to hurt their ears by playing anything too loud — so be careful! I’ve chosen to add support for the Hearing Health Foundation to this extension, so when you use it and buy stuff online, they get some free donations. That means I added some affiliate links within the extension to generate those donations, but you can always turn off the entire donation functionality at any point. TRUSTED BY MILLIONS OF ACTIVE USERS ALWAYS FREE TO USE NO ADS! NO MALWARE!

  • (2025-07-14) Chris Erwin: So far I like it. only thing is that depending on the streaming service. It will not let me go full screen with it on. Some do. Some don't. But overall I like it.
  • (2025-07-14) Suzy Patrillo: Very helpful. I had a little trouble figuring out how to make it appear, but just clicking on the icon did it. It didn't seem to work on a video that my mom sent me, but maybe I just wasn't playing it right. I tried a couple of other extensions to boost the volume, but they distorted things too much. Glad I was able to find one that worked. Use this one.
  • (2025-07-14) Terry Jones: Works perfectly. No issues on any of the vids I'm watching.
  • (2025-07-13) Nima Sarang: This great extension was recently turned into a seemingly scamware with donation pop-ups showing for online purchases. Beware. I wouldn't be surprised if it's stealing data.
  • (2025-07-13) Aneg Tregoub: Hey, works greatly, haven't come across any issues yet edit: okay, I realize when I'm watching a video on a website, and I fullscreen it, then unfullscreen it, it minimizes my window, a bit annoying having to always fullscreen my tab
  • (2025-07-13) Jenese Pados: Donation pop up with no option to opt out but to donate.
  • (2025-07-13) JT: Donation pop up ads??? That doesn't sound like a volume booster to me.
  • (2025-07-12) Brett Pelton: This extension contains dependency injection via javascript to modify the page content which is outside of the scope of what this extension was designed to do. This potentially violates google's extension dev polices.
  • (2025-07-12) Megan Jones: removing. they are forcing a massive pop-up asking you to donate. can't click out of it even. what rubbish.
  • (2025-07-12) Tim Chinye: Message to dev, remove these logs from prod: content-script.js:22 Document already loaded, running initialization immediately content-script.js:4 Attempting to initialize AdUnit content-script.js:6 AdUnit initialized successfully
  • (2025-07-12) Lo Praxis: absurdly obnoxious donation popup for a volume feature that should come built into browsers
  • (2025-07-11) Alex L: Removed for forced charity donation popup.
  • (2025-07-11) Steve Smith: Great app. I tried 3 others, and this worked the best.
  • (2025-07-11) Adam Smithy: Super helpful as I travel a lot, and am often on noisy trains. Easy controls to turn on/off ,and seems to work everywhere I've tried it. Two thumbs up.
  • (2025-07-11) Catherine Howe: Super easy to use. Great for noisy places where it is tough to hear the dialog. I tried a few others, but this seemed to work the best.
  • (2025-07-11) Ken Mori: Just what i needed. thanks. I could finally hear the video I was trying to play. And I saw an earlier review that complained about a popup. I got one too (just one)... but what's the problem? It was asking if I would wanted to let a store to donate to a charity. I was happy to support the charity, and I even saw the option to opt out entirely. It was a way to do some good ; what's the harm there?
  • (2025-07-11) Stephen Kaufer: Great app. Thanks for creating it.
  • (2025-07-11) Michael Larson: turned into crapware after trying to monetize it with givefreely etc.
  • (2025-07-11) Argi Mukti (Age Tv): nothing effect
  • (2025-07-11) Rik van den Top: I am getting popups in different browser tabs now because of this browser extension, since "Volume Booster partnered with Give Freely". https://givefreely.com/charity-ad-why?p=volumeboosterprod I don't want ads with my browser extensions, so I will be uninstalling Volume Booster.
  • (2025-07-10) Rudra Kafley: this is amazing
  • (2025-07-10) Tina Tremain: In general it works great, but I cannot get it to work with Zoom which is really annoying.
  • (2025-07-09) Jonathan Peters: Had to do a reinstall of Windows 10 on my computer and in doing so, apparently it had knocked out the bass on the computer and the volume wouldn't go high enough...Installing this quickly fixed the problem, and put the volume back to how it used to be when I want more bass in my music. Awesome app.
  • (2025-07-08) BennibOi: works as it suppose to. but, everytime i go full screen on my video, it exits full screen on my browser. i am on macbook pro

  • (2025-07-07) inventionpro: Inserts its own ads into websites and tracks users
  • (2025-07-07) Kerris “Kris” Woodroffe: Literally the best sound booster I've ever used. It doesn't blow my speakers or anything. I use it for movies.
  • (2025-07-04) Alyssa Murakami: Couldn't listen to videos on Amazon Video without it. Thanks!

  • (2025-07-02) Andres Leiva: Works great!
  • (2025-07-02) Sharon Cohn: works great - glad I found one that does..
  • (2025-07-02) Henry Lubel: Excellent sound enhancment!!
  • (2025-06-27) Summer A. W.: It would sound clearer if you put an actual megaphone to your speaker. Sound quality IMMEDIATELY GONE. Really crackly, very uneven, yes it's louder but louder crackles. You can't really make out what's said, it's just LOUD NOISE
  • (2025-06-25) Alex Cheng: Works perfectly with all audio and video, even fullscreen!
  • (2025-06-18) S K: work nicely
  • (2025-06-16) Rohan Nair: Works perfectly!
  • (2025-06-15) Heinrich Lunge: Why is its rate 3.8 :) ? It works perfectly! Though it doesn't allow me go to full screen in site like YouTube, but one can use F11 for full screen, right? :) How is that even an issue?
  • (2025-06-13) Baron Naguit: Nice, i can finally hear better while watching shows and movies in my websites.
  • (2025-06-11) james gourdine: hellyah love it
  • (2025-06-10) Don Romantiko: Out of ALL the volume boosters out there, this is the ONLY ONE that works.
  • (2025-06-09) # Exenting: when active you cant full screen anything like YouTube videos
  • (2025-06-07) Adcium: Honestly one of the best extensions I've had to the pleasure of using. It's perfect for a lot of things which I will go over 1. Does what it says it does, lets you boost the audio of tab, perfect for quiet videos or when you can't hear it because your siblings are being loud (My turn to be loud lol) 2. Good for blasting audio when you turn it to max, making people wince (Very funny to use on already excessively loud videos, careful of your speakers though) 3. It focuses on a tab. What I mean by this, is that when you're on one of those annoying websites that forces you to keep the tab open for countdowns on downloads, ads, network connection, etc this can trick the website into thinking you're constantly on it. It has saved me a lot of time and I know it's not what it was made for, but it is very, VERY helpful when I need it 4. Really good for knowing which video tab is playing audio if I have too many tabs open. The blue square lets me know which one it is very easily, sometimes when I have too many tabs (very rarely) I cannot find which tab was the one I was playing audio on (And I hate using pinned tabs on google since you can't read the tab name anymore) Anyways, long story short, I love this extension and thank you for making it 10/10
  • (2025-06-06) Hamza Islam!: (Operating system: Linux Mint, Browser: Thorium) Yeah works awesomely. My laptop speakers are weak and this helped me watch a video that sounded very low. Works how you expect. (Many of these reviews are just people saying how it makes stuff sound low quality. Thats because your speakers can't handle it duh.)
  • (2025-06-06) Shahin Rahaman: its not working
  • (2025-06-03) NOUM: - It is ignoring the tab muting feature of the browser - It messes with Youtube's fullscreen functionality
  • (2025-06-03) Nahom Gizaw: simply the Best
  • (2025-06-03) Sansify: cool
  • (2025-06-01) a: if you want to hurt your ears and make it feel like theres a bee stuck in your ear its perfect
  • (2025-05-30) Raymond Miller: Changes your browser search to Yahoo.
  • (2025-05-27) Neil Alfred: When I use it, the full screen isn’t working properly. What I mean is that the taskbar and the top part of the browser — like the tabs — are still visible. But yeah, it does enhance the sound and feels really useful when watching old TV series. Although, of course, it forces an increase in the dB, so it might sound a bit crispy. I'm using Brave Browser btw
