An extension that adds the ability to automatically scroll through long pages.
Ever want to read through an article without even touching a mouse or keyboard? Simple Autoscroll will help you with just that!
With Simple Autoscroll, you simply set how many pixels to scroll at set intervals, press "Go", and start reading! To stop the scrolling, simply click on the extension icon and the scrolling will cease.
Simple as that!
Tips:
- Want to scroll from the bottom to the top? Simply add a negative value into the "Scroll X Pixels" field.
- For a smooth scrolling experience, simple input lower values for both pixels and milliseconds. For example scrolling 1 pixel every 30 milliseconds provides a nice, smooth scrolling experience. increasing the millisecond count makes it slower.
Simple Autoscroll has not and never will never read any of your data and will only modify a page as needed to make autoscrolling work properly. Simple Autoscroll also does not make any network requests. Simple Autoscroll is an open-source extension. The source code is available on our GitHub page: https://github.com/danman113/simple-autoscrollv2
Note: Doesn't work on all websites.
UPDATE Version 2.0:
Simple Autoscroll V2 is now released!
* Extension Manifest V3 is now supported
* Your default settings are now synced to all of your devices!
* When selected, the new "Loop" option will make the page scroll back to the top once it reaches the bottom.
Version 2.01:
* Fixed a problem where scrolling would not stop
Version 2.2:
* Fixed an issue where many sites would not autoscroll
Version 2.3:
* Added a hotkey (Alt+J) to pause/resume scrolling. You can configure the hotkey on chrome://extensions/shortcuts

- (2023-05-04) Matt Nichols: like everyone else this was perfect until the recent update. installed so i can scroll thru youtube channels after YT (stupidly!) removed the ability to sort by oldest upload, but i ended up using it on all sorts of other sites too. i've come to rely on it! but now it won't turn off when i re-click the icon, forcing me to reload the webpage... which scrolls me back to the top. please address this (and the weird permissions issue too). update (4 May): this was working for about a week, now it's busted again. getting some weird vertical text upon pressing GO. can't tell what it says. did we scare away the app developer? :(
- (2023-05-02) JC: Why this stops working? Have uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted chrome, disabled, reenabled extension and nothing happens when click on Go button.

- (2023-04-28) 허쓰킹: Please return to the previous version. It is very inconvenient because the function to stop is gone.... thank you for correcting it 4.28
- (2023-04-24) William Keitaro: It was great at first until the update, first when i set the millisecond count to anything but 25, i just got greeted with a vertical text something like ''E E N T E R A V A L I''. Also i can no longer stop scrolling by closing the menu thing and have to refresh the website instead, bringing me back to the top
- (2023-04-24) Dominic Lubrin: It was working perfectly fine but after the update I just get a long text and nothing is happening. Edit: The extension is working now
- (2023-04-23) Jacob: Was working great, not sure what happened recently but now when I press go it comes up with a string of letters instead of scrolling
- (2023-04-21) Bean Bag: This worked great until the update. I don't know why the update needs permission to read the page; that's a little creepy. Also stopped working on OnlyFans after the update.
- (2023-04-20) Wilson Fowlie: This extension was good. I understand about the problems with the V3 manifest — these things happen and I appreciate the explanations. However, you haven't addressed Matthew Fearrington's (which is also my) issue regarding permissions. Chrome now reports that the app won't work because I haven't given it permission to "Read and change all your data on all websites". Considering what this extension does, that seems unnecessary, at best. Is this question going to be addressed? If this permission is required in order to sync settings between different devices, I understand that, but please make it user-configurable (including the permission granting), not just forced on us.
- (2023-04-20) Matthew Fearrington: This extension was great, but I don't understand why the newest version needs access to read and change everything that goes through the browser when it worked previously
- (2023-04-19) Sparky Firestarter: Would be nice if it refreshed the page on loop.
- (2023-04-19) Kevin Van: So the long string of characters everyone is mentioning is when you manually enter in an input value that is not a multiple of the default steps the inputs have, then it'll give an error but the for example: 2 pixels and 25 milliseconds is the default. but if i try and change it to 3 pixels and 30 milliseconds, I a validation error saying that the closest numbers are 25 and 50. you can inspect the extension's body and increase the width and height and youll see the validation error. i hope this helps
- (2023-04-18) Andy Fulenchek: Worked wonderful for a bit and really enjoyed the simplicity. However, something has changed and now it does not work at all. As previous reviewers mentioned, it will not start scrolling and you get a long string of seemingly random letters/error. I'd be most happy if it's resolved soon. Thanks!
- (2023-04-18) Nima: used to be extremely helpful and easy to use, recent update basically ruined it. doesn't scroll at the right speed, takes forever to sync, doesn't stop even when i click it again so i keep having to refresh the page to make it stop! go back to the previous version and get rid of the loop button!!
- (2023-03-21) Muhammad Khoirun Nawa: love the simplicity
- (2023-03-07) Anushanth Balabaskaran: So simple as its name, worked perfectly.
- (2023-03-05) Eric Ossinger: I like it; works smoothly. I'd like to be able to set a keyboard stop/start button though.
- (2023-03-03) Clement Seadzi: its good but I wonder if you added keybind so youu can turn it on & off
- (2023-02-11) 숲지기: Very good but i wish shortcut for 'go' button click.
- (2023-01-29) Mộc Phương: very good
- (2021-12-30) gnostic Kws: for fast scroll to see the old tweets just solve my need
- (2021-12-01) Marcos Foster: This is beautiful. Genuinely, thank you. Just wanted something that auto-scrolled pages a bit. This scrolls pages a bit. The default is probably more geared toward image/gif feeds, whereas I changed to it 5px every 3000ms.
- (2021-10-16) David Prodigy: Works well for me, but unfortunately it doesn't scroll if you middle click on a link. I assume this is because of the browser and how it's built. Please note that it will not work in the chrome web store (like many others).
- (2021-10-11) Enishii: this one works. I got into trouble after my mouse broke, and i was tired having to scroll using my touchpad, glad this exist!
- (2021-10-05) Bean Bag: The extension crashes and the button disappears so you can't stop the scrolling once you start it.
- (2021-09-25) KNHY Kanahaya: love it so much...
- (2021-08-26) Khoa Mai Anh: This extension fits my needs.
- (2021-08-14) compu: Rubbish, the tool does not even show on my chorome browser.
- (2021-07-13) Zombie Waffles: Works as intended. No more infinite scrolling on super long youtube playlists. :D
- (2021-04-12) Jay Sardar: works just as it is described
- (2020-07-14) Invalid: This works perfectly for me, but I needed to "save it as default" everytime I wanted to change the speed.
- (2019-09-21) saeed d: Very bad.
- (2019-09-04) barbudo 2005: Your app is very good but I want to modify scroll.html to put 1 and 30 so I don't to enter every time. How I could do it without Chrome say "the app is corrupted". Thank very much in advance.
- (2019-03-13) Martin Králíček: Not working at all. Downloaded, Installed, updated browser to latest (Version 73.0.3683.75 (Official Build) (64-bit)), restarted browser, launched by GO and nothing scroll down on any page. Just do not do anything. :-(
- (2019-03-06) it's really useful for me,and I hope it can offer a function .That's when I open it again it can remain the last setting data I saved.
- (2018-12-30) Giorgio Morodor: Works FAST
- (2018-07-11) Jack Flakne: Does not work at all.
- (2018-06-10) Jess Shu: Hello there! Yes it's rather inconvenient that the settings have to be reentered every single time I even stop the scrolling for a while. But anyway, optimal setting for me was 1pix/200ms. Also would be nice if we could customize the default setting; 100 pixels is gonna be jumpy no matter what. I tried a few other settings and even 5 pixels is jumpy. I recommend just keeping it at 1pixel and changing the millisecond part; higher ms number is slower and lower number is faster.
- (2018-04-26) S. Walker: Works well, and it evens works in Full screen. But, it doesn't really retain any settings and doesn't work if the page it refreshed.
- (2018-04-23) Davide Semeraro: Only extension that does what I was looking for, fast scrolling.
