The ExplainPlease Chrome Extension replaces the default Chrome new tab with a customizable tab, allowing you to select from a variety of attractive backgrounds that include themes such as Forests, Space, Parks, Mountains, Deserts, Underwater, Islands, Oceans, or Turtles. This new tab also features a clock that is displayed at the top of the page that shows the current local time.
The ExplainPlease Chrome Extension also allows you to search the ExplainPlease network from the search box. It does this by allowing you to search from a search box on the new tab page and by setting your Chrome Browser’s omnibox to use ExplainPlease Search.
When a search is performed in the ExplainPlease Chrome Extension search box, the results will be automatically shown on the ExplainPlease site with local information.
Lastly, the new tab page set by the ExplainPlease Chrome Extension includes quick links to several useful and popular sites. These sites are not affiliated with ExplainPlease but are included to help users navigate the web more easily. The quick links are for the following sites: Gmail, Yahoo!, Amazon, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Netflix, Spotify.
The ExplainPlease Chrome Extension does not collect ANY information about your browsing behavior. It only replaces the blank Chrome new tab page with the ExplainPlease new tab page to add useful tools and links for our users, and replaces the omnibox functionality to deliver relevant local content when users search.
